Busy weekend, so early mornings were making progress and now getting an update up before I head out.

Update 3:

Cleared out the Rocket Base
Adwaita begins to attempt to evolve, getting BlackGlasses once she was revived instead.
Adwaita defeated Giovanni (with SuzumeBchi needed to finish off Kangaskhan)
Headed to Pokemon Tower, where Adwaita put Marowak to rest
Mr. Fuji got us down and gave us the PokeFlute so we could head south and wake up Snorlax
Got the Super Rod on the way to Fuschia City.
Visited the Safari Zone for the Gold Teeth and HM03
Nessie learned Surf and got a Quick Claw
Got HM04 for giving the Warden his Gold Teeth
Headed to Fushia Gym - it took 5 trips and a visit to the local PokeMart for Revive, Super Potions and Full Heals (all Full Heals, most Super Potions and all but 1 Revive were used against Koga), but Adwaita (with some help vs. Weezing from SuzumeBchi) defeated him.

EDIT: Would it be acceptable to hack Wartortle/Dragonair's evolution (so I don't have to stop the evolution manually every level) or is the possibility of missing it and having to make the journey a multi-generational quest considered part of the challenge?

You know, I haven't tried my hand in this challenge yet. I'm going to be playing as many as I can on Blue. I'll start from the top, so that means Safari is first. Now let me get this straight. I can not use Rhyhorn (available in Blue's Safari Zone) and Oddish (1st Gen Pokemon available in RSE Safari Zone) in Blue (or any game) because they are in different Safaris, but I CAN use a team of Psyduck, Tangela, and Arbok in Blue Version, because all three of them are available in ONE safari (all in sinnoh's great marsh).

I'm starting a Safari Challenge on Red.

Team will be Nidoking, Parasect, Venomoth, and Dodrio (probably). Loreli will not be fun

Update 1
-Obtained Yoshi the Chikorita
-fought my way to Violet City
-Thought Faulkner would be tough but I beat him easily
-Used previous knowledge and challenged Bugsy too rashly and was beaten four times
-Grinded to an astonishing lvl 25 before I beat Bugsy
-Finally was able to catch DK the Aipom after obtaining cut and access to the Headbutt tutor
-Made my way to Goldenrod and battled Whitney
-It was late thursday night as I desperately searched fervently for a male Link the Scyther
-Made my way to Eukretek City and went east in search of Peach the Miltank (only 5% chance of encounter? D:)
-Currently leveling up my Pokemon before I go and challenge the leader of Eukretek City.

I'm back. School is finally over, so i'll resume my Survival of The Fittest Challenge. I don't remember the lives of my pokemon in Leaf Green and the pick-up ability makes it easy to find loop-poles. I'll restart the game in... either Japanese or Korean Crystal or Green... Will get back to you on my decision shortly.

Update 6:
Well, over the course of 25 attempts (mostly for training and determining what was needed to beat them), my team made it through.
Eous managed to evolve to Rapidash, but Nessie wasn't even trying to evolve to Dragonite...
On #24, they managed to beat Lorelei and Adwaita got about half-way past Bruno on her own.

A little more training, and I made the final approach, with all six getting in some decent fights - Clifford got most of Lorelei's Ice, Eous' Bounce was very useful against Bruno's fighters, while Nessie's Surf took out the Onixs. Astrope and SuzumeBchi got Agatha's poison (the Steel type really helped) with a fair amount of Full Restores. Lance was surprisingly easy to beat, and the Champion - well, my pokemon were pretty well set up to fight him (except Nessie).

Oh yeah I changed my Mario from Slugma to Magmar, he fits all the specifications so I do hope it's ok with you, I just didn't want to wait for him until post league. Pikachu I can wait for, cause he's Pikachu, but Mario don't get same privaleges as Pikachu ^_^
