Suggestion: Pokemon Essentials

Because one topic will NEVER get it's own sub-section.

If it's not a very broad or open category, then it does not get a subforum...anything that narrow must stay in it's own thread. Now you can PM the moderator of the section it's in and ask them if you can split the thread up a bit and sub-divide it into different threads, but that's really their decision.

Listen to Pachy.

If it's something that you want to happen, or feel that it should, then that area's moderator is Yuoaman.

Trying sending him a PM, and tell him your idea? I'm sure he'd listen.

I thought it should get a subforum, due to how many people frequent this site because of it. I think its safe to say that at least 30-40% of the people on this site participate in the Pokemon Essentials thread. I'll hit up yuoaman, maybe he'll agree with me. Thanks all.

By this logic Pokemon ShinyGold should have it's own subforum. I can guarantee your statistics are well off and that a great deal more people come here because of ShinyGold.

It's over three years old. :p It probably needs to be restarted with just a link to the program. lol
This. A thread that old that is just silly little errors and the same few questions getting asked over and over again by people who can't use the search function is hardly worth a subforum.

I JOINED because of ShinyGold.

Anyway, we're not making a subforum for a topic, like Pachy said. Several topics on this forum got their own section in ROM Hacking, but that's entirely different.

It should be stickied if anything. But the thread is mega old, it's been around for years. I wouldn't see the point in this at all, furthermore, what's the point in making an entire section which only gets a few posts a day at most when a thread handles it just fine? If more people just read the notes that come with the downloads, there wouldn't be much of a need for the thread at all.

Regardless, it should be restarted or stickied or both in my opinion. It's the largest thread ever in GD and it has neither a sticky or a restart to date. GD itself needs a slight restructure and or revamp as it's not been organized in a while. I believe that's been worked on or talked about as some know, so hopefully with better organization will grant a better location for the topic.

Do you seriously believe that? That at least 4,500 users (and i'm being very generous here, as my only source of numbers is from the Active Member count, which only includes the past 60 days) regularly participate in the Games Dev section, let alone the Essentials thread?

Well I've been considering doing something with the Essentials thread for a while now, since it is horribly inefficient at the moment, more than half the people in there posting for help won't get any. After talking with Daedalus, who I trust on these matters, we came up with several pros and cons both for setting up a whole forum or just creating a new topic. I'll more than likely split the thread up - and of course move it to the Resources section where it belongs - into several stickies that should be a lot more helpful.
