Bright and happy, Ash stepped onto Route 202 to begin something she never really thought about doing: actually becoming a pokemon trainer. She could almost see it now... holding a large, golden cup high in the air, crowning her the champion and the greatest trainer of all. That would be something great to put in her careless parents' faces.
Eddy was acting like a little kid like he should've been. He was excited to travel the world for some special purpose and to watch his older sister in action. Ash really liked having a younger brother that looked up to her like this. She almost considered herself a parent to him only because his real ones couldn't. In her opinion, they didn't deserve anything for the way they treated her younger brother all the time.
"Yeah, I guess it is exciting, but pokemon trainers are supposed to be serious," Ash informed her dancing brother. "See the champion dancing around ever?"
"Well, those trainers on tv always look excited when they win," Eddy responded.
"Yeah I- sure I guess that's true," Ash said.
The was a moment of silence in the air. "So... what should we do first?" Eddy asked after a few seconds.
Ash stopped and faced her brother. "Well, it would be best if we caught a wild pokemon. That way, I'll have more pokemon on my team. Either that, or I can train Riolu and make him stronger."
"Please, let's look around for a pokemon," Eddy pleaded. "I would love to have some more with us."
"Your wish is my command," Ash said with a grin. She stood up tall and walked for a few steps, but then stopped and turned around to face Eddy. "Umm, you're going to have to help me," she said. Truthfully, she had no idea how to find a wild pokemon, or if you were supposed to even look for one. Maybe they just came to you.
"Sure!" Eddy happily replied. He took off and began to look around for any sort of new friend to add to the team. Ash took off after him and searched too. They both looked through the bushes and through the fields for a while without any luck at all.
Eddy lost his kiddiness enthusiasm. He fell on his butt on the floor and sighed. "I change my mind. This really stinks," he said.
Ash smiled. "Fine then. Want to have a lunch break?"
Eddy grinned and pulled the bag off of his back. It was filled with all the food the professor bought for them. Ash pulled out a loaf of bread and a large can filled with something that looked like beef stew. "Here, we can half this. Just note that we need to preserve this as much as possible." Ash snapped open the can and ripped the bread in half. She handed one half of the loaf and the can of stew over to Eddy.
Eddy didn't hesitate in grabbing the food. Tilting the can over, he dumped half the can onto the bread. He handed the can back over to Ash before stuffing his face.
Ash looked at him disgusted and put down her food in order to get Riolu's pokeball. But then, as she reached over, something zipped past Ash. Ash whipped back around alarmed and saw a small bird up ahead of her chowing down on her lunch.
Furious, Ash pulled Riolu's pokeball and faced the bird. The bird looked happily at her and continued to eat. "You little pest," Ash growled. "Think you can steal my lunch and get away with it. No way. Riolu, let's teach this thing a lesson." Ash threw the pokeball and her Riolu appeared.
Ash turned around and looked at Eddy. "Today is you lucky day, little brother. Just watch," Ash said extremely darkly. Eddy was too shocked to speak and watched the battle while continueng to eat.
"Riolu, use quick attack!" Ash shouted. Riolu zipped towards the bird. It did the exact same attack to avoid Riolu. Ash looked at the scene frustrated and held her hand up again. "Riolu, do it again!" Riolu tried to zip towards the bird again, but this time it growled at him, making him slow down his attack and then slammed into him, hard.
Ash didn't know what to do. Quick Attack was Riolu's only physical attack. But when she thought about it, it wasn't his only attack. "Riolu, we're just going to wait for our little theif to make a move," she said.
The bird pokemon didn't look like it was ready to budge anytime soon. It sat and stared at Riolu without making a sound. Ash suddenly came up with an idea to lure the bird pokemon. Bending down, she snatched Eddy's beef stew bread and handed it to Riolu.
Riolu began to dance around with the bread in his hands, waving it in the air and dancing around in circles with it. Ash saw the bird pokemon cringing. She knew it wanted it bad. Riolu then made the pokemon snap when it took a big bite out of the bread. It looked at Riolu angrily and began to charge.
"Riolu, use endure!" Ash shouted. Riolu waited for the bird pokemon to attack and then repeled it back when it slammed into him. "Now, quick attack!" Ash shouted. The bird pokemon was still stunned, so it didn't see Riolu's attack coming. He slammed into the bird pokemon hard, making it collapse on the ground.
Ash grinned and pulled out a pokeball. She threw it at the bird pokemon. The ball sucked it in completely and began to wiggle back and forth. Would Ash capture her first pokemon?
ooc: This pokemon would be Starly if you didn't know ^^
