Pokemon Gijinka Academy

Not open for further replies.
"Hey guys, name's Floyd!" A luxray Gijinka said approaching the group of us.
"Hello, Floyd Nice to meat you." I said, "My name is Caleb and this is Meme."

"Hello, Floyd Nice to meet you." The Sableye Gijinka said, "My name is Caleb and this is Meme."
Caleb was a Sableye Gijinka, He looked almost the same age as me, I was a bit taller as a lot of people say Im very tall for my age. "Its nice to meet you to Caleb" I replied. Lex was looking at Meme with a weird face. I didn't know what his problem was but I didn't really want to ask him in front of a bunch of people.
"Its my first year here, Im in the storm house. What about you guys?" I added.
"They know what house your in." Lex whispered "You have electric currents coming from your tail. They know your Electric type."
"No need to be judgmental like you always are." I whispered to Lex.

((I think my application may have gone by unnoticed. May I join this RP? I could play the Storm House teacher as well, if you like))
Spoiler:

((@tenthcompanion - many apologies for that!! I was on this thread on my phone earlier today, I probably saw the post but couldn't load it all because my iPhone is tempramental like that. You are 100% accepted and if you could play the Storm house teacher that would be brilliant - you'll need to think up a reason for why he/she was delayed though XD Feel free to start posting ASAP!))

Jake Green - Great Hall
"Umm...thanks Melissa...well, I suppose there's not much else to tell you at the moment. In actual fact," he stated, a flash of brilliance hitting him although he didn't portray it as such. Jake liked everyone to think that he was fully in control and fully prepared - even if he was completely winging it, as longas popular conception was that he knew what he was doing, Jake was happy. "In actual fact I'd quite like to hear any questions or concerns that you have about the Academy! We'll have a Q&A session and then split into Houses. Your Head will show you to your House building - this is where your dorms are, your bathrooms, and where you will have House-specific classes. Mealtimes are communal, here in the great hall, so do feel free to make friends from other Houses - in fact, I insist that you do!" he said brightly, going off on a tangent ever so slightly. "So, any questions?"

He looked out over the crowd of students, watching as a hand raised into the air belonging to Jonathan. His smile twitched somewhat as he gestured to the Ekans Gijinka, "yes, Jonathan, you have a question?" Jonathan stood up and nodded, still looking somewhat queasy from the boat ride.

"I do Professor Green...do you have a cure for motion sickness?" laughter burst out across the Hall and even Jake couldn't stop himself - good on Jonathan turning a potentially embarassing stuation into a positive one. The world would benefit from more people having that attitude.

"Unfortunately not Jonathan, not yet. But in between teaching, mentoring and my research on the Gijinka Genome I am working on it, I promise. Coming close to a breakthrough," he joked, winking at Jonathan before turning his attention to the rest of the Hall, titters following his joke subsiding slowly. "Anybody else?"

"Y-yes Professor Green..." came a nervous voice from the first few rows, a small Teddiursa Gijinka standing and wringing his paws anxiously. The boy looked more Teddiursa than Human...Jake sensed who the most popular newbie would be with the girls in the Academy, "A...Are we saf...safe he-rre? N...no-one c-c-can get u-us?" he stammered and Jake suddenly turned serious. He walked over to the boy and knelt down beside him, the rows of seats fortunately being wide enough to allow him to do this, and looked at him solemnly. "You are safe. This Hall, this Academy right here is probably the safest place for you, for all of you. While we're here, nobody will ever harm you. No-one will hurt you, emotionally, physically, mentally...do you all believe me when I say that?" he stood again and looked around at all the students, the genuine meaning of those words shining out of his face. Almost all of them nodded back at him and he smiled gently, satisfied. Perhaps this mentoring thing would be even more satisfying than teaching...

Walking back to the front, he looked around the Hall again. "Any more questions? Anybody? Don't be shy."

Savannah - Great Hall, Student Body
Savannah was startled by the actions of Professor Green...he was so kind, so gentle with students who had obviously suffered a whole lot more prior to their arrival here than she had done. She could see why older students had spoken so highly of him - he actually valued their opinion, actively wanted to make them feel settled and happy here - she was looking forward to any classes she may have with him.

As he looked around asking if there were anymore questions, Savannah followed his gaze around the room. She had thousands spinning around her head...but she was nowhere near brave enough to ask them out loud. Judging by the expressions of her peers, this was a common sentiment within the room.

"He's very good isn't he..." she said to Ethan, Maka, Caleb and the new Gijinka boy Floyd who had just joined them - she was so impressed with Professor Green that her eagerness to talk about him overshadowed her shyness.

After Professor green talked to that Teddiursa I let out a sigh of relief. To think that I wouldn't have to volt out 10 watts every time my brothers phone died, or triple that when my parents Laptops gave out was wonderful. Also to know that being safe here was great to. Lex looked up at me to see my reaction when I knew we where safe. Lex knows my life's story so when he's cracking jokes at me he knows when it's time to stop. "He's very good isn't he..." The Raichu girl said. "He is, He defiantly is.." I replied back.

(EDIT: Ninja'd)

Another Gijinka Came over, making about a group of 5: Herself, Ethan, Savannah, Caleb, and now the newest Luxray. It appeared there was a large variety of electric types. "Hey guys, name's Floyd!" the Gijinka said, a huge smile on his face. The Sableye greeted him as Maka waved from behind, sitting with Ethan and Savannah, "Hello, Floyd Nice to meet you. My name is Caleb and this is Meme."

"How nice of him to introduce us," Jet joked.

"Be quiet already," Maka demanded, examining the Luxray. He looked tough. The Luxray Gijinka continued to talk,
"Its my first year here, I'm in the storm house. What about you guys?" The Rotom girl nodded in a friendly gesture, before getting comfortable in her seat. She wasn't one to adore crowds, as they became confusing and un-necessary. Maka decided to break in with a question.

"So, when does class start?" she asked, her Rotom sizzling in electricity, "What? I thought you knew!"

"No, I don't know, Jet," the girl shot back.

"Oh, pardon me, then. No need to be so upset, hun. You have friends now," the Rotom replied, levitating over to Maka and ticking her cheek. The girl let out a small giggle before pushing the pokemon back in rage, "Stop already! Your trying to embarrass me!"

"I'm just having a little fun. You've been so serious ever since you came here."

"Sorry...I'm just eager to learn, ya know. First day, everyone's all fired up," she replied not as angry as before. The orange pokemon nodded, levitating a small distance away and searching around. A Professor appeared to be talking, asking students if they had any questions. A lone Teddiursa had spokemon up, asking if they were safe. Thoguh the man assured the Gijinka everything was fine, Maka wouldn't believe such a thing. "Your never safe," she thought to herself

"He's very good isn't he?" Savannah asked aloud to her friends. Maka glanced her way with a simple nod and smile. Ff no one could answer her question she would ask the Professor instead, though she was still nervous and quickly scratched out the idea of speaking up.

I was off for a stroll in the park. That's all. This RP is getting way too popular.

"Yeah, maybe. To be honest, all Weavile seems to be interested in is battling. I try to calm her down but I guess that's her nature." Lysander said to Floyd. As the two Pokemon shook each other's paw/hand. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Floyd." Lysander said, shaking the new Gijinka's hand. They went their separate ways then. It seemd that the Luxray Gijinka was interested in meeting more of his own kind. Lysander had to admit it was very exciting meeting your own kind after all the years you spent around those dastardly "humans". Weavile caught up to Lysander and said "Hey, you wanna go and catch up with the guys?" "Yeah, sure." Lysander answered, as they walked off to meet their friends.
Sitting at a table were two Gijinka, one was a Scizor Gijinka named Thomas, he had red, spiky hair and was dressed completely in red and black. On his black belt were two claws that looked like replica's of a Scizor's pincers.
The other Gijinka was a Sandlsash Gijinka by the name of Phoebe. She had had long, brown hair that went down in spikes, like the spikes on the back of a Sandslash. She wore a purple hairband and a pair of beige jeans made specially to contain her tail as well. Along with that,a beige top that was sleeveless.
Thomas and Lysander were the same age, while Phoebe was one year younger. They'd been best friends for years. Weavile looked in the same direction to see his old friends next to their respective owners. A Sandslash by the name of Ruby and a Scizor-to-be Scyther.

"Hey guys, what's up?" Lysander said in their direction. They turned their heads to see him. "Oh, hey Lysander. Long time no see." Thomas said. "Yup, got a new hairdo I see." Lysander pointed out. "Yup! Heh, like it? Phoebe seems to." he said. Just then, Phoebe slapped him on the leg. "Ow!" Thomas exclaimed. Phoebe turned her head away from him to face Lysander. "Hey, Louie, what's up yourself?" Phoebe asked. "I asked first. And don't call by Louie!" Lysander said, sitting down next to them. "Fine, I'm doing pretty good, although I don't know about this idiot here." she said, pointing to the Scizor Gijinka behind her. "Hey! I'll have you know I'm a top student here!" Thomas defended himself. "Haha, I suppose THAT explains how things are going." Lysander said in response to his quote. Phoebe giggled and said "Hey, what do you think of the newbies this year, Lysander?" indicating the newbies at the other table. A few of them had clustered together to form a group that were chatting. Even Floyd, from before. "Yeah, a few of them look easy for them picking," Thomas joked. "Don't be so sure, frankly, I think that Luxray guy right there will be a tough opponent, he was good enough for Weavile to actually shake his hand." Lysander said, rolling his eyes. "Well, we'll see." Phoebe said. "Honestly, I hope I get to battle someone who has an advantage over me. I'm in need of a good challenge." she added. "A lot of new Electric Pokemon this year." Phoebe said, examining the batch. "What about that one there? The Leafeon guy. He's young, but I can't judge people by age." she suggested. "Yeah, but Scyther here'd be able to take him out easy." Thomas joked. "I think some of those Electric types would be more of a challenge for me, because of Scyther's part-flying type." Thomas said. "Right. As for me, I'd say the Rotom is easy picking because of a Ghost typing, the Luxray looks tough, but he doesn't have a specific type advantage over me....maybe...." Lysander trailed off.

Suddenly, a voice boomed and disturbed everyone. Weavile appeared to be in conversation with the other Pokemon, when she rolled her eyes at the sight of Professor Warner. Weavile didn't wan to listen, but Lysander would've liked to know more about the houses. He'd only been told a little about this "new system" that was coming up at the end of last year. First he listened to Prof. Green, hearing the usual things, and also that he would be the head of Earth House. "Too bad, I wanted him to be the head of Storm House." Lysander thought. Then, the eye rolling came from Weavile as Warner got up on the stage. "My name is Melissa Warner and I am the mentor of Shadow House! Yes I know, it's very shocking. Now, even though my colleague has spoken most of the technical mumbo-jumbo, I have to add two minor little things: treat everybody as you wish to be treated and never steal my coffee. Since we can't introduce our third professor just yet, I'm going to give this silly little voice-thing back over to Professor Green so he can give any further instructions." said Prof. Warner. Weavile sighed from relief, knowing that her least favourite professor would not be head of Storm House. "What HAS Weavile got against Professor Warner anyway?" Thomas asked. "I dunno." Lysander replied.

"Umm...thanks Melissa...well, I suppose there's not much else to tell you at the moment. In actual fact," Professor Green said, as he got back up on stage. "In actual fact I'd quite like to hear any questions or concerns that you have about the Academy! We'll have a Q&A session and then split into Houses. Your Head will show you to your House building - this is where your dorms are, your bathrooms, and where you will have House-specific classes. Mealtimes are communal, here in the great hall, so do feel free to make friends from other Houses - in fact, I insist that you do! So, any questions?" he said again. Jonathan raised his hand, but Lysander paid no attention to his question or Green's answer. Then, a little Teddiursa Gijinka asked a question, although Lysander couldn't hear it. For some reason, Prof. Green came down from the stage and told him something in private. It must've been some confidential question.

"Any more questions? Anybody? Don't be shy." said Prof. Green as he went back onto the stage.
Nobody seemed to be asking anymore questions, but Lysander noticed a Charizard Gijinka nearby, also looking at the cluster of newbies. "That one! I'll have some trouble against their fire type." Lysander said, pointing to the Charizard.

You guys need to stop Ninjaing me!!!!!

Spoiler:

Jake Green
"No more queries..?" asked Professor Green with a slight frown and tone of disbelief tainting his voice - he understood the older students not having any questions for him, but the younger, newer students..? Only the Teddiursa? Well, if they didn't want to speak in front of everybody maybe they'd speak about what was on their mind in Houses.

"Okay then! So, for the remainder of today we're going to break up into our houses. Earth House, line up on the right hand side of the hall. Storm House, in the middle of the Hall and Shadow House on the left hand side," he instructed, gesturing to each row of the Hall as he spoke. He turned to Melissa as the volume of the student body increased with students getting up to move, chatting excitedly amongst themselves.

"Well! This should be an experience!" he said brightly, looking towards the entrance. The Professor for Storm House hadn't turned up...he hoped that they'd arrive before the House had assembled themselves completely or else he didn't know how to structure this.

Savannah - Great Hall
When Professor Green had finished talking, Savannah looked around at everyone. She went through everybody's names...Ethan, Maka, Caleb, Floyd...wondering if Floyd and Maka would be in her House.

"Don't you find it strange that the Professor for Storm House isn't here?" said Savannah to the others, somewhat shyly. She frowned slightly, and watched as the students assembled themselves into Houses. She turned to Maka, curious to find out how she had been sorted as a double-type. "So, Maka...are you in Storm House or Shadow House?" she asked, looking first at Maka then at her Rotom and noticing Raichu do the same.

Raichu seemed to be growing more comfortable with the new Gijinka and Pokemon he had met, offering a smile up at the Gijinka surrounding him. He was watching as Savannah interacted with them, noting that she seemed more excited and eager to converse than usual.

((OOC: I don't think we should be able to catch any other pokemon. It makes sense that we should only be able to have pokemon that are the same type as us.))

"It was quiet, peaceful, less likely of an accident or two. I enjoyed it, especially the hikes up the peaks," Ethan replied. "Those newbies won't be much of a challenge for you will they?"

"Probably not. There don't seem to be as many powerful gijinkas this year as there were last year," Flare said.

As the rest of the students went into the school, Ethan's Leafeon said something to him. The gijinka nodded and bowed to Flare. "I apologize for cutting our conversation short," he told her. "But it looks like we'll need to join our fellow students to hear just what will happen this year. I hope to see you around sometime. Bye." He than turned and walked away.

Flare glanced at Blaze a shrugged. "Well, might as well get to know the competition," she said and followed the Leafeon gijinka to the building where everyone was gathering.

She stood by with her Charizard partner and studied the other gijinkas, determining their weaknesses and strengths. A Weavile gijinka she recognized from the year before pointed at her and said something to his companion. Flare ignored him and turned her attention to a Rotom gijinka that seemed to be having trouble containing its electricity, already having zapped multiple pokemon. Not wanting Blaze to overreact in case the the Rotom gijinka accidentally shocked her, Flare stayed where she was. Her tail waved back and forth impatiently. She needed to do something.

"Okay then! So, for the remainder of today we're going to break up into our houses. Earth House, line up on the right hand side of the hall. Storm House, in the middle of the Hall and Shadow House on the left hand side," Professor Green's voice reached Flare's ears. She frowned slightly. Ever since she heard about the pokemon being seperated by type she hadn't been to happy with the idea, but there wasn't exactly anything she could do about. Walking over with Blaze to the right hand side of the hall, the two got in line with the rest of the pokemon from the Earth House.

I really liked professor green. I really wanted to know who the storm house professor was since Im going into the storm house though. I couldn't seem to find them. "Don't you find it strange that the Professor for Storm House isn't here?" asked Savannah. "I do find it a little odd. I hope nothing bad happened. I've been wanted to meet them since I heard about the houses." I glanced at Lex who was looking at Savannah's Raichu. Lex had one of his "Interested" faces on. Which he rarely ever has. I noticed a Charizard Gijinka looking to where we were sitting. It was the same one that flew in Over the crowd when we were getting of the boat. Her Charizard's tail almost to my head off. I just ignored her, I doubt it really meant anything. Savannah continued talking to Maka. I heard one of the professors ask us to line up with the house we where supposed to be in, I hopped up and told every one bye and I'll see you all later. I left and entered the line to my appropriate spot with Lex.

"Okay then! So, for the remainder of today we're going to break up into our houses. Earth House, line up on the right hand side of the hall. Storm House, in the middle of the Hall and Shadow House on the left hand side," the Professor instructed, gesturing to each row of the Hall as he spoke. Maka was aware that her type meant she was split apart between the Storm and Shadow houses. Jet lingered over, whispering to its trainer.

"I wanted to go to the Shadow house...but it seems all your friends are Electric, no? I'll let you go with them," she said with a smile. Maka grinned with her pokemon, silently thanking it.

"Don't you find it strange that the Professor for Storm House isn't here?" said Savannah to the others, somewhat shyly. Maka leaned over to her, "Yeah, it is. Apparently he's late...? Maybe..."

Maka wasn't quite sure, though a Professor would have to show up eventually. Savannah continued. "So, Maka...are you in Storm House or Shadow House?" she asked, looking first at her then at Jet, the Gijinka's Raichu following it's trainer's eyes. The Rotom Girl smiled, "I know I ended up getting split. I guess the Electric house would be right for me, since I don't know how to control my powers yet. My friends are going too, so, yeah."

"Aww, your sweet, Maka dear."

She frowned at Jet, mumbling out to her in rage.

"Can't you shutup???"

"Oh boo. Your no fun."

Seeing the other students group themselves in order of type, she got up from her seat. "You coming?" Maka asked, looking over to Savannah and the Luxray Gijinka.

"Kay guys, I'll see you later." Lysander said, as both his friends walked toward the line for Earth House. "Funny how we're in Storm House and they're both in Earth House." Weavile said, as Lysander and Weavile stood in line. "They're lucky. They get to have Green as a House professor." Lysander replied. "Why do you like Green so much?" Weavile asked again, for the third time today. Lysander countered by saying "Why do you hate Warner so much?" which made Weavile silent. "I wonder who our House professor is." Lysander said. "I dunno. How about we bet on it?" Weavile said. "Alright. Loser has to have a whole bottle of steaming-hot water poured over them." Lysander said. "Damn, I knew you'd do that!" Weavile said. "I know you hate warm water as much as I hate cold water. Besides, steaming hot is even too much for me." Lysander replied. "Okay, I bet the teacher will be a Water or an Ice type." Weavile said, putting on her annoying grin. "Okay, I bet they'll be an Electric or a Flying type." Lysander responded.

"Oh, hey Louie" came a voice from behind Lysander. He immediately turned to find a Gyarados Gijinka behind him. This particular Gijinka was named Vincent. And he was very annoying. "Oh, hiiiiii Vinceeeeent." Lysander said unenthusiastically, ridiculing his arch nemesis. Vincent and Lysander had been worst enemies since they both got to the school. "Has that little fleabag of yours even levelled up once since we met?" Vincent taunted. Lysander had to quickly stop Weavile from attacking him. "Way more than that pathetic Magikarp of yours." Lysander replied, defending his Pokemon. "Oh, and, correction, I do not have any fleas. My kind can't have fleas, idiot." Weavile added. "It's a Gyarados now, for your information!" Vincent exclaimed, looking angry at both Lysander and Weavile. "I bet I can crush that pathetic excuse for a Pokemon anytime." Weavile said. "Like a knife through butter." she finished. "Hah! This butter is rock hard!" Vincent said, laughing. "Uhh...that's...a strange comeback." Lysander thought, exchanging glances with Weavile who seemed to think exactly the same thing. Without further ado, they both turned around, Weavile giving Vincent the raspberry before doing so. And for the rest of that day, they ignored his constant bragging and ranting.

(God I leave for a darn shower and everybody comes on line. Nice. XD)

Melissa just beamed innocently at him and nodded. "As long as I keep weirding everybody out, this will really be a blast. You'll be a great mentor Jake I do not doubt it!" She looked around and sighed. "But Stormy didn't show... Okay, hang on a minute I got something in my little head." She flew up to the ceiling and called out. "Okay everybody, please listen a minute! For any of you types who aren't sure what house you belong in, pick one for now and we will check the rosters. Storm House, if you can just be patient for a few more minutes, one of us will return to take you to Storm House if the Professor does not arrive by the time we return. We apologize to the delay. Shadow House, if you aren't ready in the next two minutes I will be leaving you all behind!" She soared over to them, grinning like a fool.

~~

Ethan bowed politely to the others as orientation ended, going to join Professor Green. He had felt someone watching him and knew it was that group of older kids. Honestly, it was amusing. That Scyther likely thought he could beat him. Unsurprising, as he was a child and weak to that move typing. But he did know how to fight against that kind and at least knock them down. Ethan shook his head in a feeling akin to amusement. He wasn't so weak as to lose because of something as minor as that. He was trained to defeat people when at a disadvantage. It would be an interesting match if they fought, but he doubted they would.

Realizing they were separating, Leafia nudged him and the pair went to go join the rest in Earth House. Most of the people here were older than him, actually, he thought everyone was. He already felt small for his age, no he had to feel small among his own kind as well. Well, at least by the end of his stay here he would be able to teach Elena a lot. He knew that if she were here now, she would be in Storm House. The system already felt disgusting. Nothing I can do though, he thought as Leafia purred in his ear.

Lex and I waited to see the Storm Professor show up. While we waited I talked with Lex.

"So Lex how's your day been so far?
"You know how my day is been, I've been with you all day."
"Just trying to start a conversation."
Lex, for the 4th time today rolled his eyes.
"Lex, do you have a problem with your eyes?"
"No, why do you ask?"
"Oh, I don't know. Its just that you seem to be rolling them a lot today."
"Ha ha ha. Its just that sometimes you state the obvious"
"No I don't" "Oh yes you do." "Hey guys Im in the storm house"
Lex said in an incredibly annoying dumb voice. "Ha ha ha" I said sarcastically.

I noticed Lysander just a few people a head of me. I weaved my way through to say hi.

"Hey Lysander!"

"So as Professor Green explained I guess I should be going to the shadow house. Oh no! I didn't pay attention to were I was suppose to go, and now I'm lost again. Why does this always happen" "Caleb you need to stop getting yourself lost all the time!" Said a mysterious voice "Who said that were are you!" I exclaimed in fright. I looked around but I couldn't see anyone. "Hehheheheh I forgot you cant see me" The mysterious voice said again. "Wait... Meme stop hiding and show yourself!" I Yelled. Then my little sableye appeared right in front of me startling me. "Whoa! Don't do that" "Sorry I couldn't help my self" Meme Gigged. "Wait, were have you been!" I scolded Meme "I was exploring" She said in defense "But I know were the Shadow house is, I went and figured it out because you always get us lost." Meme replied "Oh... ok... Well Lets get over there."

((Sorry for my lateness. Busy day. Also, I don't think catching pokemon would make much sense in this case. Each gijinka having their own same-species pokemon is enough I think.))

Melanie tried her best to blend in with the crowd as everyone gathered in the great hall. She had never seen so many gijinka in one place before. There were hundreds of them. Maybe they wouldn't be scared of her like the humans were... Throughout the assembly, she stayed near the back of the crowd and listened as two professors explained the basics of the academy. The Nidoking gijinka, Jake Green, was head of the Earth House. He seemed like a very kind and friendly man. Melissa Warner, who looked like a Togetic or Togekiss, was the head of Shadow house. Being a ghost gijinka, this would be her house as well. Prof. Warner was very energetic this morning. Melanie wondered if she was always like this or if it was just the excitement of the first day. Having such an extroverted personality as a house mentor may prove challenging in the future. The Storm House mentor hadn't arrived yet, so everyone would just have to wait to see what they would be like.

Professor Green had started a Q&A session, but it seemed that no one was interested enough to ask any questions. Either that or they're just too shy. Mel could understand that feeling very well. The only ones who spoke up were an Ekans boy and a small Teddiursa boy. After the Teddiursa's question, Prof. Green assured everyone in the room that it was perfectly safe here. No one would be able to hurt any student here. Melanie had known that the academy was probably the safest place for her, but to hear it said aloud made her breathe a sigh of relief. In an environment where she didn't have to worry about being shunned or ignored, maybe she could finally make some real friends.

"Okay then! So, for the remainder of today we're going to break up into our houses." said Prof. Green. "Earth House, line up on the right hand side of the hall. Storm House, in the middle of the Hall and Shadow House on the left hand side. Melanie and Shadow made their way over to the left side of the room. Rushed over, actually. Miss Warner had already threatened to leave them all behind if they weren't ready in two minutes.

"Well, Shadow, this is it. The beginning of a new life." she said.

The Duskull responded, as optimistic as ever. "Yeah, it seems like it's gonna be pretty nice here. You should go up to someone. Introduce yourself."

"Uhh... maybe later. Right now I just want to get to my room."

~~~~~
((Note: read 'Anila' as 'an-eye-lah'.))
"Oh Arceus, I'm late for the first day of school! I hope Melissa and Jake won't hate me too much for this." Anila thought to herself as she flew to the great hall. It was just that it was such a beautiful day outside. She couldn't resist going out to fly for a while. Unfortunately, she had completely lost track of time while flying and now had to rush back to the academy. She really should have expected this of herself, though. Even at twenty-four years of age, punctuality was not her strong point. She tended to get distracted or carried away more often than the average person. The wind ruffled the feathers on her large brown wings as she descended into the great hall. She decided to make her entrance through the window instead of the front doors. Why take the normal way when you have the chance for something more dramatic? She flew through the upper window and used her wings to hover above the middle of the room. She ran a hand through her long blonde, red-streaked hair, trying to smooth out any tufts the wind had made.
"Hello everyone! I'm terribly sorry for being late." she called from above, taking time to find Jake and Melissa in the crowd. She gave them a small shrug, as if to say 'Sorry, but I just couldn't help myself' Turning back to the crowd of students, she introduced herself. "My name is Anila McKenzie and it's lovely to see you all. I am a professor here at the academy and I'll be the mentor for all students in the Storm House." She flew down to the middle of the hall where her students were located. "Seems we have quite a few newcomers this year. Especially electric-types. Well, I wish you all a warm welcome. The years here at the academy will be your very best." she said with a smile.
I called out to Lysander but It seemed he couldn't hear me over all the talking.
I went back to my spot in line.
"Ill just talk to him later"
"Fine by me."
The storm Professor bursted into the Great Hall and came to our line.
"Lex look its the Storm professor"
"I wonder why she was so late."
'Sorry, but I just couldn't help myself' "My name is Anila McKenzie and it's lovely to see you all. I am a professor here at the academy and I'll be the mentor for all students in the Storm House." Professor McKenzie said.
she looked like a Pidgeot Gijinka. I would have expected an electric type Gijinka
for the storm house. It doesn't really matter though. Im just glad she was just late and not injured.
For a slight moment, and over Vincent's constant boasting and anger, Lysander could've sworn he'd heard his name. He wondered for a moment "Eh, probably nothing." Weavile said.
Suddenly, a Pidgeot Gijinka flew in from nowhere and introduced herself. However, Lysander didn't need introductions. He recognized her as Professor McKenzie. Lysander was used to her being late, too. She always liked to make entrances at the last minute. However, the appearance of Professor McKenzie was dread for Weavile, as he had lost the bet.
Lysander whispered lowly to his partner "Hah. Flying-typed. You get the hot water bottle." "Yeah, whatever." Weavile said, crossing her arms and sitting down on the ground. "Tomorrow at midday, whether you're awake or not, you get it." He added, taunting. The taunting took effect, causing Lysander's Weavile to lightly scratch him on his ankle. "Ow. Hey! It's not my fault you didn't bet Flying-type." Lysander said. All Weavile could do was growl.
Lysander tuned back into the real world to hear Professor McKenzie say one last thing; "The years here at the academy will be your very best."
To be frank, Lysander had quite enjoyed his years here at the academy. Each student graduated one year later than they would in normal schools for humans. Each student graduated exactly five years after they joined. After they'd learned everything they needed to know on how to be a good Gijinka.
Lysander joined the academy at fourteen, so he'd be graduating at nineteen. Same for Thomas, but Phoebe, for example, joined when she was thirteen years of age. So she'd be graduating at eighteen years of age.
