    just find a scyther/pincer and kepe throwing balls at it until u catch it, DONT DMG IT. and ull get first place

    Female Scyther Lv.13 Don't remember the nature (in Morty's Gym at the moment). Got first place, was able to catch without hurting it. 343 points! :D

    This was my first Bug Catching Contest in HG.

    Pokemon: Pinsir (lvl 13)
    Place: Didn't place (beaten by a Metapod, Beedrill, and Venonat)

    I didn't remember that the remaining HP total made a major difference on the score, and I did weaken the Pinsir somewhat, which probably didn't help. Does it hurt your score to inflict status conditions? I frankly was surprised that I didn't place, as I had no problem placing with a similar catch in G/S/C. It seems like level and HP make more of a difference than Pokemon species, from what I can tell. Does anyone know how the scoring process breaks now (i.e., how much emphasis is placed on level, rarity, HP, etc.)?
