    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pete stared up at the massive building looming overhead. Pokemon High. He looked around to see anyone for help. A couple students were chatting to each other and boasting about their pokemon. One carried a Sentret and the other had a Zigzagoon. Pete looked away and headed into the main building. Inside it was like stepping into another world. The stone outside which looked very out of place against all the labs of Cinnabar Island. But the inside was space age and looked just like Cinnabar Lab. Pete went up to the assistance desk. "Er, Hi, I'm new here," he said to the woman at the desk. "Oh, right, some with me," she replied. Pete went to another desk where a man was ticking off new students. He went up and got his name checked then followed the other students into a room where they would receive a starter pokemon. There were touch screen palms on the tables and Pete found the one with his name on. As he opened it up a list of questions appeared on the screen to do with his personality. After he completed the questions he got a code. "DRBAG". All the other students were queing up at desks for their eggs. When Pete got to the front, he was given a purplish blue egg. Some students recoiled in shock as their eggs hatched instantly and Pete instantly asked himself a question

"Could it be that Pokemon can sense who are best suited to train them and then hatch for them?" Pete thought. Suddenly he noticed his egg hatching. As the shell fell apart out popped a Pokemon. A Bagon. "Bag, Bagon," it said in a cheery voice. Pete had a partner.

The school was an intimidating place for Sheba. She had been homeschooled since she could remember, and it had been on her request that she got sent to Pokemon High, but she was beginning to regret the choice now.
When she entered the reception, the lady smiled at her (which made Sheba feel a bit better) and led her into the lab. Spotting Pete with his Bagon, Sheba's excitement began to rise.

She walked over towards the touch screen. "Oh crap," she cursed, "I don't know a thing about pokemon!" However, when the first question popped up, Shba was happy to see it wasn't too academic. It was a personality quiz, like the ones on the internet. When she finished, she got a code too: NMEV
She stared at it for a moment, wondering what it meant, until a young woman approached her with several eggs in her hands. She took one look at Sheba's code, and walked away again, this time bringing a single, glowing white egg.
"Here you are," the woman said kindly, "this is your egg. We don't get many like you about!"
As Sheba cradelled the egg in her arms, it began to hatch. A small, pure-white head forced it's way through the shell; it was an eevee, and a shiny one at that.

OOC: Okay, just in case anybody's wondering why they don't see a profile of my char here, I'm PM approved. Here goes...

    IC:

Shortly after Sheba had left the reception, a young male of about 13 with black hair, which didn't stand at end for once, wandered into the building in a very nondescript kind of way, actually going unnoticed by the lady at the reception until he came right up to her. Such an unnusual building... the boy thought for himself as he walked, taking in his surroundings in his usual silent way, taking as much time as possible before the inevitable occured and he was standing next to the lady at the reception, now having finally caught her attention as well.

"Can I help you dearie?" she asked, smiling politely.

"Erm..." the boy began, gathering up his courage for a while, "I'm Felix Penderson." he said at last "A new student?"

"Penderson?" the woman echoed, briefly turning to consult a memo on her desk "Oh yes, you were the last-minute entrant, right?"

    Felix nodded.

"Well, you just go right over there and they'll take care of you. Welcome to Pok?mon High, dearie."

The boy mumbled a quick 'thank you' to the receptionist and scurried of to get his name checked before he was ushered into another room. The other students were already there, eggs hatching all around.

Felix completed the personality test quickly and smiled slightly at the result; "WINDY" he repeated quietly with a measure of amusement as he joined the queue. Rather fitting, I should think...

The man behind the desk gave a slightly annoyed cough, returning Felix's mind back to the present and causing the boy to realize that it was his turn and that he had been holding up the queue for a good two minutes, much to the displeasure of those behind him.

"Sorry..." he muttered sheepishly, blushing slightly and quickly handing the slip over to the man, recieving his own egg, which was of a beautiful sky blue colour.

As he stepped to the side of the queue, the egg in Felix's hands began to tremble, the warmth emanating from it increasing as the shell began to crack.

"Swaa!" the newborn Swablu exclaimed, bursting out of its egg and flapping its little cotton-like wings excitedly as it zoomed around Felix while cooing affectionately. "Swaaa-bluuu!"

"Nice to meet you too." the boy said, smiling at the bird pok?mon and stroking it a bit before he turned to see what the others had gotten. Two people in particular caught his eye; a blonde-haired girl, who had got herself an Eevee, and a shiny one at that, and a boy with brownish hair who looked maybe a tad younger than Felix, although it was hard to tell, and was accompanied by a cheerfull looking little Bagon. "They sure got rare ones..." Felix said quietly, recieving a slightly worried look from his Swablu "But don't worry." he added, giving the little bird pok?mon an encouraging smile "I still like you best. By the way..." he added, giving the Swablu an appraising look "You need a name, how about...Skie?"

"Swaaa!" the Swablu called out excitedly, zooming around Felix at a breakneck speed "Swaaa-bluu!"

The boy chuckled a bit "I'll take that as a 'yes'." he said, resuming his observation of the others. He was too shy to go up to anyone and say 'hi', but that certainly didn't prevent the boy from being curious about those he would end up spending his time with.

OK we have a new member! Alter Ego, welcome!

Pete looked down at the Bagon. It wasn't shiny but it did have an odd mark on its head shaped like a dart and its eyes were chrome-coloured. The woman called out to him. "It's a male. You can use your palm like a pokedex," she said helpfully. Pete scanned the Bagon. It's info popped up on the Palm. "Hey, I'm gonna name you now" Pete quietly said to the Bagon. "Hmm let's see, I'll name you...Kyver. Go Kyver!"
    "Bagon, Bag, Bagon" replied Kyver.
Pete then followed the other students. He was shown his room. Room 276. After unpacking his stuff, he checked his Palm. First lesson was Battle Studies. Using the helpful map feature, he found his way to the classroom and discovered all the other students coming in. The lesson was easy enough. The teacher, Mr Forest, was quite nice and most of the lesson was practical. Near the end, Mr Forest invited two students to come up for a battle. Pete was picked. The other student, a burly guy named Dean called out his Rhyhorn. It was titchy compared to the ones in the Safari Zone Pete had been to. Pete sent out Kyver. The Rhyhorn, called Slate, tackled Kyver and sent him sprawling. However Kyver used Scratch and then hit Slate with a leer. As Slate lay there, Kyver scratched him again and Slate went down. Dean congratulated Pete. "That was a really good battle. me and Slate have been together for a week, and you were the first person to beat us," he said.
"Thanks," replied Pete,"I practice with my brother's pokemon."

The lesson finished and Pete went back to his room. "Hey, Lunch in a couple minutes! All right!"

    Pete hadn't eaten breakfast.

Sheba watched in silence. Everyone here was so much better than her! She had never even seen a pokemon up close before, let alone battled with one.
She glanced down to her eevee. It was a big responsibility, having a pokemon. There would be no quitting from now on. This little animal would depend on Sheba entirely... The thought made Sheba's head spin. She leant against the desk, hugging the little eevee to her chest. It gave a little squeak of surprise, and Sheba glanced down at it.
"You're a little girl?" she asked stupidly. The eevee licked her lips, and Sheba decided to take that as a yes. "I'll call you... I don't know... Oh, names can wait." She frowned darkly. She was terrible at names. She had thought about calling her 'Winter', but it didn't really suit her.. Sheba glanced at the piece of paper the lady had given her. "Okay..you're level 5, female, you have a quiet nature... Oh! It says here 'Run Away'! What does that mean!"
Sheba stared at the little pokemon in her arms apprehensively, as if expecting it to jump out of her arms and streak out of the building. Luckily, it didn't.

She paused, and looked at ther picture on the sheet. It showed an eevee as a brown pokemon. But hr eevee was white! Every now and again, she seemed to glitter, too.
"Oh no!" she called, "I think my Eevee's ill!" She stroked the eevee gently. "Don't worry, I'll get you some help, I promise!"
The little eevee, however, appeared quite contented, and made a little purring noise as Sheba stroked her.

ooc| Hey, Alter Ego is here! Anyone got a good name for my eevee? xP

Ill? Felix discreetly made his way a bit closer to the girl who had made the exclamation. He was very good at that, wandering inconspiciously. In fact, Felix could appear at almost every given situation and just look like he blew in by accident, he didn't know why, he just did. There was something that the boy had forgotten to factor in however, the fact that his newly obtained partner lacked this particular talent.

"Swaaa!" Skie exclaimed, immediately flying over to Sheba as she mentioned illness and circling around the Eevee. "Swablu! Bluu! Swablu!"

"Come back, Skie." Felix hissed quietly, but to no avail, as the bird continued to peer worriedly at the Eevee in front of it, as if trying to discern what was wrong about it. The boy gave a sigh of forfeit and decided to walk over, he would certainly have been noticed by now anyhow. He gulped slightly, his nervousness building as he prepared to speak up. Felix was bad enough at talking with strangers generally, and the fact that this particular stranger was a girl certainly didn't help matters.

"Erm, I don't think it's ill..." he muttered quietly, staring at his feet "There are...specially coloured pok?mon, erm, that's what my brother told me anyway...he's a researcher you know, so I guess he would know...anyway, there's nothing wrong with them, they're just...uh, different, you know?" he began drawing a semi-circle on the ground in front of him, using his right foot, a habit that he often took up when feeling unsure about himself.

Why do I have to talk like this? Felix thought, feeling particularly furious towards himself and wishing that he could just fly away at the moment, She probably thinks I'm a complete idiot now.

Sheba jumped at the swablu's screeching cries, and nearly dropped her Eevee from shock when Felix began to talk to her. He had appeared out of nowhere.

"So... she's not ill? Just special?" she asked, balencing the eevee on her hip like a baby. God, what a moron I must have sounded like! she thought irritably, feeling the colour rush to her cheeks. "I don't know much about pokemon. This eevee's my first." She stared at her shoes, feeling very much the idiotic n00b. At least she now knew her eevee was safe now.

"What's that?" she asked, spotting the swablu zooming around Felix's head. Her eevee whimpered, bowing her head and shaking chronically. Apparently, she was a bit of a wimp. "Shush shush, my darling," Sheba cooed, in her soft quiet voice, "There's nothing to worry about." Her eevee buried her head in Sheba's arms, apparently not liking this scenario one little bit.

    Names for the Eevee? Er....Snow?

Walking to the lunch hall Pete saw two students. One had a Swablu, the other a shiny Eevee.

"Woah, a shiny! I thought those stories Dad told me were made-up," thought Pete. Kyver seemed more interested in the Swablu. Most students carried their pokemon or let it walk with them and Kyver walked alongside Pete. He tried to get the Swablu's attention, but failed. Pete saw that the boy was blushing. "Hey, a shiny. You're really lucky to get one. The chances of getting one are like 8000 to 1," said Pete. Meanwhile Kyver was still trying to get the Swablu's attention.

Felix finally looked up from his feet for a moment, noticing that the girl seemed to be just as nervous about this as he was. It was a comforting thought of a sort, especially considering that the colour of his face had taken on a shade that seemed very similar to that of his brother's Torkoal. "Erm, yes, just special..." Felix replied, "Some say they're even stronger than usual...could just be talk though. And this is Skie..." he added, gesturing towards the Swablu who seemed to be confused by the Eevee's reaction, titlting her head and giving of a quizzical 'Swaa' "She's a Swablu, they grow into dragons, if I remember correctly." his gaze grew distant for a moment as he pictured riding through the sk?es on the back of a full-grown dragon before he snapped back into the present "I'm not very good at this stuff either though." he added "I mean, my brother was always teaching me...but, you know, I've just kind of...forgotten a lot of it, you know? Oh, and I'm Felix by the way." he added, now feeling slightly more sure about himself as he offered a somewhat shaky hand to the girl, talking always loosened Felix up "And I'm sorry I startled you like that..." he added guiltily.

    The girl looked at him.
    Kiril-kun, that's character control and isn't allowed on these boards. You can't control other people's chracters, only your own. ^^;

    IC|

Her eevee began to cry louder, now faced with a Bagon aswell. Sheba rocked the little pokemon in her arms - and, as if someone had turned off the volume, the eevee fell silent. She curled up against Sheba's body, purring slightly.
Sheba glanced at the boy. "Are they?" she asked lowly, "I never realised." There was something melodious about her voice, that was almost calming. "I guess I'm lucky!"

She turned to Felix. "Hey. I'm Sheba... from Johto. I've never seen one before..." she watched it flap about, in a way which Sheba thought was almost whimsical. "I can't imagine it growing into a dragon." she struggled to picture a swablu-charizard, with fluffy wings and a beak. Now she had stopped panicing, she was smiling earnestly. "No worries. I panic easily, that's all."
Her eevee gave a squeak of agreement.
"Oh... and what does 'Run Away' mean? It says that, right here, under her species..." she pointed at the sheet. She was beginning to feel embarressed again; she had come here, with her A grades in maths, english, science and everything else under the sun, expecting to do well, but all she had done so far was make a fool of herself.
