    Pokemon! The Indigo League Adventures!

    Introduction
"Another original series anime hack? Where are all those creative minds these days?" is what you may be thinking right now as you read this thread.

Yes, yes; I'm aware this has been done multiple times and has succeeded with the likes of AshGray and others, but I thought to myself: Why not give it a shot myself? This may not be the best interpretation of the anime you all know and love, but I assure you I will give it my greatest attempt! I'll take you deep within the Kanto Region with added anime-exclusive areas such as Grandpa Canyon and Porta Vista with events reflecting those of the cartoon you grew up with!

    Story
You are a boy from Pallet Town, and tomorrow is the day when Professor Oak will allow various 10 year olds to begin their very own Pokémon journeys! Now that you are of the age, you can now leave home and follow your dreams. But you've woken up too late! What will you do now, all the other trainers have surely taken the 3 choices of Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander! Luckily Professor Oak has a Pikachu in stock, and you may finally venture off. What people might you meet, what stories are held in the vast region, and what history will you make as you and Pikachu head for the Indigo League?

hmmm...yes very nice. i see great potential in the hack. i never really did get into AshGrey, probably due to the sprites, but anyway keep shooting to finish this game. im sure it will be excelent hack when/ if it is finished.

Eeeeeeeeeewwww tile errors in the mountains, houses, and probably a billion other places but I'm too lazy to look.
Also there are tree shading errors. And tall grass in Towns. What don't people cut their grass? *Looks at own garden*...

Aside from that, I'm not too fond of the idea of another AshGray. Also the screens don't really show anything but the tile errors mentioned above.

The grass in the towns should be removed, unless you want to have Ash with no pokemon get bitten to death by wild Rattatas' :). Instead of the floating rocks, try using the barricade rocks you usually find in the water. Also I think if you make the grass near the water 4x4 it would look better. Anyway, good job I'll be looking forward to this.

Um, no, M4, his post has got a lot of credit to it. There are tile errors, and the mapping is bad. The only **** as you so eloquently put it was the lack of evidence.

Anyway, I think that this hack has a lot of room for improvement, just from those screenshots and mapshots.
    Spoiler:

That image pretty much shows all the tile errors or problems you have. Pink circles mean the tile is being used wrong--for the houses, the roof is incorrect, and they need to be one tile wider and have windows. The water tiles that have been pink-circled all over need to be curved water tiles, which are next to the water's main tiles. The red circles are for tree shading errors--I could go in-depth, but, pretty much, use the other tile with/out the shading for tiles without/with the shading.
The bottom of the bridge is incorrect, you need to use the middle tile, not the side one. The blue circles are saying "don't use the same grass tile!" because FireRed provides you with five tiles and in sections you've used just one. Finally, somethings that weren't circled--if you walk on mountains, generally they have grass--you shouldn't really walk on mountain-top tiles. Grass in towns is a big no-no in my eyes, as I see towns as safe spots, so putting tall grass kind of defeats the purpose. It's even worse, putting it in Pallet Town where there are no Pokémon Centres (I know technically you have your mother, but I'm talking practical-wise, it doesn't work). Also, I think this whole map could be downsized, and be given more similarities to Pallet Town as it doesn't really look like it at all.

If you manage to nail the scripting and mapping down, then this may be able to be better than AshGray (which has really bad mapping). Oh, and I love the name btw.

Instead of working on an Indigo Season, you could try on working on the Johto Season. Wouldn't that be better? 'Cause not a lot of people are fond of having a duplicate of Ash Gray.

My mistake, I didn't really quite notice things you pointed out. I may just be blind from playing too much BO.

But for the roof part, I can't really agree with you. He probably did that to make his houses look more unique with what he has.

I don't think you're gonna succeed if you stick to this idea...
Most of player will and I mean WILL compare it to AshGray, Ash's Quest and other anime hacks...
I really think we have too much of them...
And playing the same game again and again is kinda boring...
SP's got a point, though you could try Hoenn since JA is being done by Con.

Con quit his project. It's dead. Completely.

    Dear author,
Listen to the fans' opinions. They think that making the same hack isn't going to make your project stand out. You can actually try making other anime hacks. A D/P anime hack would be interesting. A Hoenn anime hack would be interesting as well.

Okay, thanks for all the comments and thoughts! I don't see what's wrong with the tree shading, but I can see what you mean with the bridge and the mountains in Pallet. Also, the tall grass in Pallet has no wild Pokemon, it's just there to look nice, but if you don't like it I'll listen and remove it. I'll be sure to fix the grass to have much more variety. Finally, don't mind that little error with Ash's house, I plan to sprite a new house, and that's just a placeholder of sorts.

Anyway, I guess I could do another Region's anime, and I was actually planning to do so but I felt I should start at the beginning before anything else. Anyway, I have to go shopping now, when I come back, I hope to hear more constructive criticism and opinions! :) I feel Hoenn could be interesting, and using FireRed would be a bit more of a challenge for it, so I'll take it!

i was doing a hoenn remake, wanna work together?

btw, you should think long and hard about doing this hack... perhaps a different region? anyway what you did so far looks great.
