"..One of the most intriguing things I have come across in my travels, is the memoirs of a man named Ladien; in it he tells of a meeting between. Modern Technology tells us Ladien lived around a thousand years ago, based on the time that the scrolls date back to. In it he tells of befriending a strange Pokémon who told him it would grant his greatest wish…"

1) Introduction ~
Pokémon Ladiene is a fangame being made in RPGmaker XP. It, while not being the be-all end-all of my fangame wants, is a steppingstone to what I want to be: a game designer, so it is more like a learning process. It isn't something that was thought and planned out in one night; it is the amalgamation of several weeks planning. I'm currently learning to script in Ruby; i can't do much yet, but hey, in time good things come ^__^.
Ladiene is set in the Biara region, which is set far from the current generations, but based on a real world area.
Feel free to ask any questions about the plot in the thread ^_^.
2) Story So Far ~
The adventurer Arthur Wainwright finished his around the world trek and released his personal diary as a publication, Intrepid, letting the world know the things he had found out; no one else had single-handedly traversed all the regions on foot before. Certain criminal organisations took notice of the intrepid Dr Wainwright, and unfortunately soon after the publication was released, Wainwright disappeared. Although, this saddened many people, others profusely rejoiced for all the information the doctor had released. Who would have thought, that the famous Regi Pokémon were resided over by a Pokémon in Sinnoh? And a temple on top of the famous Mt Coronet? Intrepid was a mass success, even though the professor never got to reap the benefits of its rewards. It also, unfortunately overshadowed some of his earlier achievements...
Brendan and May defeat Team Magma and Aqua, and successfully restore peace to the Hoenn region, just as the Millenial Comet passes on its thousand year orbit around the galaxy…
The Present…
Galland and Antoine – two vagabonds travelling the vast Biaran landscape happen upon two odd Pokémon, The Mon Ladiene, siblings of the legendary pokemon Jirachi. The two pokemon explain to the two boys that the world is in danger, and that all of the Ladiene had been sent to the Pokemon world, and could only be resurrected by the one they called 'the Gal' the only one who could save the Earth from encroaching darkness. After identifying Galland, the two boys are thrust into a journey across their world find the rest of the Ladiene, and to save it from destruction.
3) Characters ~
Galland - Galland is a seventeen year old ruffian, traveling the vast deserts of Biara. He along with his "partner" Antoine, along with their joint pokemon, Taurus, search the desert looking for rare find, like fossils, and shards, to sell back in the towns. Galland is headstrong, seeing himself as the Leader of the two, although it is usually him who gets them into trouble.
Antoine - The fifteen year old younger half of the duo, Antoine is generally the quieter one, also considered the brains of the two. He is the one who usually does the research, finding out where they have to go to get what they want.
Kia - A sixteen year old theif, who finds enjoyment menacing Galland. She is unwittingly taken along on the journey, after finding our about the two's latest find.
Hirochi & Kiteichi - the two pokemon the Antoine and Galland come across, who are Dark/Psychic and Ground/Psychic respectively.
The Rogue Squadron - An elite private force, the Rogues are like a plague in Biara, taking what they want, and leaving nothing behind..
4) Features ~
- Two juvenile vigilante's wouldn't have much money, right? Especially in a region like Biara.. because of this, I've decided that (most of) the menu will be incorporated into Antoine's Journal, as well as a few other things I'd like to add in, to go along with the story.
- After a stroke of inspiration (thanks Neo-Dragon :p) I've divided Biara into several Counties, to be revealed over "hopefully" several chapters of the game (or even succesive games >.>), Gemearl bieng the main County in this portion of the story.
5) Antoine's Journal ~
Necourt Village/Town

"This is a picture of Necourt Village, what some people call the "starter town" of Biara. But Galland and me? We call it the snob town of Biara, along with the rest of the Tiike county. If you go north a bit, you'll see its attempts to expand into a fully fledged town, and Necourt cave, to the south, is just a small thing, used by rookie trainers and kids before their parents allow them to go into the wilderness. The gentle stream the mozies through the town is actually, surprisingly, part of the Great Bia-Taris River. Lots of kids from all over Biara try to get into academies just like the one located just outside of Necourt, so they can get a headstart on their own Pokemon journey"
Gemeral County (as known by Antoine)
![[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon Ladiene [PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon Ladiene](https://img19.imageshack.us/img19/1473/gemeraldraft2overworld.th.png)
"This is a map of the Gemeral County, where Galland and I live, it is also one of the biggest in Biara. You can usually find us at the Oger Oasis, which is green marker at the bottom right corner. Its not big enough for a town, but not small enough to call it nothing, and it is pretty recluse, kind of a gathering point for the shadier of us, and it suits desert gatherers like us just fine. If we ever desperately need something, we head up north to Capri Town, and visit one of the Marts there. The big city in the middle is Wealot City, the capital of our county, it is where the local government is located, so we genearally avoid it at all costs. The majority of our population lives to the west of the West Biaran mountain range, where it isn't so hot, only the treasure hungry of us living in the east. The island way off to the west is Dujeen Island; I went there once as a kid. It is mostly fish farmers however, it has grown now and there are two towns on it, last I heard. I'm not entirely sure, but i think the one to the south is called Castor town. Argyle City and its accompanying lake is where most of the desert-ignoring tourists stay, and last time Galland and I were there, it was booming in wealth."
