I'm honestly right now trying to complete the Kanto Pokedex before Johto comes out in December.

I caught another Pinsir last night at Publix and it had a higher CP, so I transferred the old Pinsir and replaced it with the new one.

Do you think Pinsir is a strong Pokémon in this game? My friend has a 1,200 CP Pinsir and apparently it feels weaker than his 900 Golduck which is saying something as Golduck is definitely not too strong. What do you think?

Well, although CP is one of the main factors that influence battling it isn't the only thing. It is also based on how much HP your's and the opponents Pokemon have. As well as type advantages and disadvantages. I could bring my 1176 Vaporeon into battle aginst a gym with a 700-800 CP Lapras and I'm most likely still going to lose. As for Pinsir being strong in this game, I would say it all hardboils(Badum tss) down to who has the bigger advantage. Pinsir is Bug-type as you know. So assuming the Pinsir has any bug type moves, it can be quite effective against Psychic, Grass, and Dark type Pokemon. My new Pinsir knows Rock Smash and Submission. It can deal more damage to Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark, and Steel type Pokemon. I'm not entirely sure if I'll ever use Pinsir, but if I can I'm going to try to not only complete the Kanto Pokedex before Johto, but I'll try to have all 151 Pokemon on hand before then as well.

Spoiler:

-I caught a Charmander outside my house.
-I caught and evolved a Caterpie.
-My newly-caught Weedle, Charles, joined the party.
-I hatched a 5km egg into a CP 308 Sandshrew.
-I evolved my Venonat into Venomoth and renamed him 'Great Gnatsby'.
-I hatched a 5km egg into a beautiful CP 347 Goldeen.
-I evolved my CP 411 Eevee into a Shocking CP 887 Jolteon, whom I named Jordon.
-I leveled up to Level 16.
-I caught a ghostly Gastly, whom kicked 'Fry Cook' to the curb and replaced him. Also stealing his candy, because he is stronger. So basically 'Fry Cook' came back in another mind and spirit. (Badum Tss)

The Venomoth you evolved sounds pretty cool, what CP did he end up at? And very nice Jolteon, he seems very strong for your level I'm impressed! Have you taken on many gyms with this team yet? What kind of stuff is pulling through for you? And have you made much Pokédex progress lately? :D
