Hello, and welcome to my contest. Just what is a mini-hack you may ask? Simple it is a contest consisting of at least 1 gym and a relatively long storyline. Hackers will have 2 weeks to make the best hack they can. However there are a few rules. Everything must be your own. I will list a few community projects that can be used in the hack but everything else must be your own work to make everything fair.

Rules:
-All work must be your own except the following. JPAN's Fire Red engine, and DNS system.
-It must have at least 1 Gym
-Any starter may be used excluding legendries. This means if you want a hack full of nothing but Bidoofs go for it.
-There must be a story line.
-Your hack can be solo or you may work with multiple people.

That's about it. If you have any questions please PM me. Hackers will have until the end of the get together at midnight PST to submit their game. No late submissions. No exceptions.

I don't know if you could make this a two-week event, since Get-Together would be lasting for only about six days (from July 6 to 12, I believe); you should try decreasing your deadline to about five days or so. As far as storyline goes, I don't think it'd be a good idea to make it long, since there wouldn't be much that people could do within this short of a time-span, unfortunately. You should also put some additional work into your thread layout, if possible. Either way, good luck on this!

I got permission for 2 weeks. And by long story I don't mean hours of gameplay. Just enough to have a story that makes sense and that is good.

Who did you get two weeks' permission from? Endless and I have been the only ones to approve events.

Your event can't last longer than the span of July 6th - July 12th. The additional week is granted for you as a judge to, well, judge and announce winners and such. As far as storylines go, as long as the hackers can make them cohesive it's probably okay to give them free reign with a "as long as it has one, it's good" note.

EDIT: However, you can have a pre-registration period in which you open the event up for applicants on July 1st and have the event run until the 12th.

Oh. I didn't "technically" have permission for 2 weeks. I just assumed that because in my sign up thing where people submitted ideas I said that it would last 2 weeks. It would be near impossible to make any kind of hack in 6 days :/

Like I said, your event thread can be posted early when the section opens on the 1st of July for pre-registration and people can start working on their hacks then.

Yeah let's do that ^-^ do you have any suggestions on how to make this idea better. Like any rules or like a set plan to follow. Like the hack has to be this long and contain these things. I don't know why this is so hard to explain XD

Perhaps you could make it so that people end their hack after only their first gym, and not continue after that? Of course, they could still do that if they like, but you could still make it a requirement to include at least one gym battle. Alongside, you should add a bit more line to your intro, so that it doesn't look to short, haha. Another thing would be putting in a submission form. If you ask me, this could work:

Username:
Hack name:
ROM used:
Download:

Here's something else to make your rules seem a little easier to the eye:

The Rules

• All work must be your own except the following. JPAN's Fire Red engine, and DNS system.
• It must have at least 1 Gym.
• Any starter may be used excluding legendries. This means if you want a hack full of nothing but Bidoofs go for it.
• There must be a story line.
• Your hack can be solo or you may work with multiple people.

The 'all work must be your own' rule is very vague and needs expanding in my opinion. Nor do I think starter choice should be limited, nor should a definitive storyline be necessary. A completely free-roam hack with no definite starter(s) sounds much more entertaining to me. Attempting to squeeze a storyline in to a one gym hack sounds quite strenuous and will lead to unnecessary plot advancement etc. Think of the canon games, how much storyline progression is actually within the first few gyms? Most of the progression will take place in the latter stages of the game.
