Ok. Well, Whats Ty's situation? Like does he live with his mom? Grandparents? How old is he exactly? Is he on friendly terms with Will and Steph? Also for each of them, What is ther character like?
To better understand Ty's character, you have to have a situation the character lived through that would shape his personality. I.E. A lack of a father around would likely make him a bit over protective of family or possibly even give him a competitive streak thats deep rooted from a feeling of abandoment due to his fathers absence.
His age is crucial, Although trainers set off ar around 10, an older character could have other issues. Like he couldn't leave when he was 10 because his mom fell ill and he mised his first chance. Younger characters are easier to develop because you get to build experiance for them as you create the story, older ones are a tad more conservative in their behavior having already gone through many experiances already.
For his rivals, Their character will bring out reactions that could possibly shape his choices he makes. I.E. If will is like Blue is, Ty would more than likely find himself in harms way trying to either to affirm his masculinity or to 'compete' with Will. Just i nthat alone can set up a situation where they encounter somthing they should not have which thrusts them into their journey.
Oh, i'm a Grade 12 ftw, lol.
Does this help any?
