This finally made Silver snap.

"You're the one who's going to be hurt if you don't SHUT UP!!"

Silver spin-kicked him across the face, then ax-kicked him to the ground. He was steaming mad, so he stormed off outside and climbed up to the top branch of a tree. This was always his method of avoiding people, but he knew Elysia would follow him up the tree. He sighed. Sometimes she was the only one he ever wanted to be around. He found himself biting down on his paw, venting his anger away. He sighed and stayed up in the tree, waiting, expecting, Elysia. He didn't want to come down, but he did want her to come up...

Elysia followed him as she always did when he got upset. She climbed up the tree and sat next to him a branch she had given Sparky his necklace and was holding her's after making sure Silver was still wearing his. "Silver your really scaring me. What's wrong. I've never seen you get so angry" she whispered tears in her eyes as she nuzzled him.

Cross fell to the ground once again as Silver struck him. He didn't bother responding with an attack. He knew it was pointless. Cross quickly recovered from the attack and merely looked at Silver from the tree, and shrugged. Cross had something serious on his mind now. He decided to let them be for now, though. He looked at his team, and shrugged at them too. "Quilavas, what can I say?" He watched them from the tree.

Silver closed his eyes and hugged her, not letting go.

"I really don't like him..."

He layed his head on her lap and sighed, staring off at the sky. He finally gave in, and said,

"He reminds me of my father when he's sober..."

He felt his anger rise but he had enough power now to get rid of it.

Silver held onto her, head resting on her lap, laying quietly. He was extremely stressed, and Cross' attitude was really unhelpful.

Elysia gently stroked the top of his head with her paw. "That doesn't explain why you got so angry. Silver not once in the time I've known you have I seen you as angry as you've been today" she whispered

He shuddered for a moment when she started petting him, but relaxed when he knew it was her. It was actually very relaxing...

"You haven't seen father sober before, he's been drunk every time you were there... When he's drunk, it makes him powerful. He used to attack us for no reason and--"

He started choking up, tears in his eyes. Mother was dead, brother was missing, father is searching for brother...

Who knows, maybe he already got to brother... Gold...

He was crying frustratedly. When he got his voice back, he continued.

"When he was sober... You just wanted to kill him... He remembers what he does drunk, he just laughs about it... About abuse... He knows exactly what to say to make you angry, and then when he gets you angry, he just gets you even angrier. Then he beats you more and more...

He was cringing at the word 'more', flashbacks of abuse, mockery, hatred...

He closed his eyes and felt her stroking his fur, letting all the bad memories go away... He had moved from fury to depression now... But she was helping him...

Elysia kept petting him tears in her own eyes she hugged him tight. "He will pay for everything he's done to you" she whimpered nuzzling Silver as she hugged him. "Try not to let the anger get to you. Because you scare me when you get angry that's something that never used to happen." she whispered. "Until today I've never seen you angry"

Silver started to cry once more, guilt taking over him. He had scared her...

Great, she's scared of me... Now I'm no better than my father...

He whimpered at the thought, and mumbled it quietly, starting to cry even more. He curled into a shaky ball, tears streaming from his eyes, down his muzzle...

"I don't deserve you..."

He whispered to her, whining, hating himself now more than ever...

Elysia held him tighter. "Your way better than your father. And you deserve better than me. You deserve someone who has actually had experience with someone caring about her, not me who still doesn't know how to deal with the fact that someone actually cares about me" she cried whining as well as she tightened her grip on him.

Cross looked at Silver and Elysia go back and forth between each other. He shook his head, and said out loud, "Wow. Nonsense." He turned his attention to the one who called himself Tyrant. Hey there, Tyrant! Name's Cross, Leader of Team Alloy!" He waved at him. "You look pretty tough. I'd love to spar you sometime!"

"I should be lucky to have you..."

He whispered and cuddled sadly, closer to her. He had noticed team Alloy eavesdropping, but simply acted like he hadn't noticed.

They probably need to hear this...

He thought sadly.

Especcially Cross... Maybe now that he knows what kind of family I come from, he won't be so rude... Make him think before he speaks...

After about 10 minutes of cuddling into Elysia, he finally mumbled,

"Okay... I'm ready to come down..."

He landed swiftly on the ground and padded back to the guild, not even trying to disguise the hurt in his eyes. He padded right past Alloy and into the guild, where he decided to slump down in the corner, sad...

Elysia followed after him and sat next to him again. "Please don't be sad" she whispered nuzzling him. "I'm the one that's lucky to have you. Silver from the moment we met you've taught me how to open up. Remember when we first met and I was so distrusting and wouldn't open up to you." she whispered "now you always know what I'm feeling or thinking"

"Good to hear!" Cross replied to Tyrant. He watched as Silver walked right passed him. In all honesty, he felt pity for what he heard of him. However, his mind was made up. If he tried to attack him or anyone from his team in anger again, he will not hold back and take his hits. He's not just gonna fight back. He's gonna make him hurt. However, Cross still felt pity for him.

Silver sighed and rested his head on her shoulder. He frowned at her.

"I'm nothing... You're perfect for me but I scared you... I should be alone... I should be suffering..."

Silver felt his mind connect to Cross' as he passed by.

Pity? That doesn't seem right... Did he actually care...?

Silver was sad, and now a bit confused.

He pitied me because of my family... Most people either call me a liar, say something like 'you deserve it for being different', or just ignore me... Why...?

He glanced at Cross who was in another coversation now, and couldn't quite understand him. How he thought of him was different than how he acted... Then Silver heard the threat, that if he tried to hurt anyone in Alloy, he'd pay... Silver sent his thoughts into Cross' head, telepathically.

What's wrong with you? I can sense how you feel inside... Possibly feel bad about how you acted? I just don't understand why you go to such great lengths to challenge my temper... And trust me, you're the only one in Alloy I would want to hurt... You should try being nicer to the Riolu, that'd be a start...

He shook his head, eyes back to purple, and kept nuzzling Elysia.

"I just don't get him..."

He whispered to her, obviously meaning Cross.

"I don't know if the story made him feel bad, or maybe he just acts different on the outside, like he's impressing someone or trying maintain a reputation or something. He seems nicer on the inside though..."

Elysia nuzzled him back "You know I'd never leave you alone unless you specifically told me you wanted that. And when you suffer I suffer as well" she whispered.

"I don't get him either. But please try not to let him get to you, and stop beating yourself up over the fact you scared me. I know you didn't mean to, and when your hurting it hurts me"

Silver kissed her, trying to push away his sadness.

"I can't help it... And even if I told you to go away, I wouldn't ever mean it. You always make me feel better..."

He nuzzled into her and sighed.

"And him... He is different on the inside... I think a lot more people would like him if he weren't such a mean, rude person..."

Elysia nuzzled him back "I agree. But what if he doesn't know if what he's saying offends someone?" she said looking at Silver. "Please cheer up" she whispered kissing him again.

Silver frowned. He was rather tired of talking about Cross now.

"I'll cheer up for you..."

He sighed, laying beside her, and noticed the mission.

"Hey, what's our first mission...?"

He asked. He needed something to distract him from his sadness...
