Vash sighed, taking a look around. The scenery was the same, but he had no idea of where Cell had run off to. "Always going in head-first eh…"
He continued to walk along the trail, expecting Cell to show up, but after some time he began to worry. He stopped on the path and looked back. There wasn't a rustle of leaves or anything, no evidence of anything besides his own tracks. Vash turned fully around and started to head back.
Something zoomed out from the bushes near him, slapping him hard in the face and sending him off the path. Vash quickly stood back up and searched the area for his attacker as blue flames burst forth from his back. A slight rustle came from behind him and he turned just in time to see a Seviper spring at him with its mouth wide open.
"Not on my watch!" His muscles twitched and he jumped away as such a speed that it left a white trail behind him. As the Seviper crashed into the ground the cyndaquil used the same speed to head butt it. It barely moved and laughed as it rose its head. Vash stepped back rubbing his head. "Geez, what a hard head…"
He yelled in pain as he felt the Seviper's tail swipe his face, knocking him back. A drop of blood fell to the ground and Vash stared at the poison type pokemon with his left eye. He winced in pain and dropped down to all fours. "Not…good…"
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The fire on his back stopped for a second, before a larger and wilder flame erupted. Vash opened his left eye, calm, and took another deep breath. He held it and as he released it, the fire disappeared and white steam shot from his back.
The Seviper charged and Vash quickly jumped to the side. The flames erupted once again and his whole body was covered in them. Landing, he quickly rolled into a ball, creating a flame wheel and shot off towards the snake. He crashed into its side and it hissed in pain, quickly turning to attack but unable to as the wheel disappeared into the smoke. It felt another attack on its tail and turned to see the same white smoke.
Vash repeated his method of attack, quickly wearing down the Seviper's strength and when it finally collapsed and stopped, stepping on it neck. He was worn down, visibly sweating and his open eye looked glazed over as if he was trying to stay conscious. He snarled and turned to leave. "I'll be nice this time…"
Back on the road he could slowly see something in the distance. A small smile played onto his face. "Almost there…just a little more…then I can find Cell…" His vision blurred and darkened…and with each step he could feel the Seviper's poison attack his body…until darkness consumed him right outside of the village.
