She rose to her feet, glad that her suggestion had sparked interest. "It sounds fair to me. I'm sure the two of us could make something happen, though I might have to give Rani a few pointers with Ember, as I've been using it longer. It takes some trying and consideration to use it correctly."

That much was true; when she'd first learned it she was utterly astonished, and a little burned. The embers had bounced off the roof of her mouth, leaving uncomfortable welts. She fixed that quickly, however; she had learned how to use her tongue to direct the flame, how wide she should open her jaws to find maximum flame potential, and if she breathed in as she expelled the embers the oxygen would make them even hotter. That wisdom could be easily passed on to Rani, if she would only listen.

"Yeah a chain will work for sure!" Len said. He listened to Shierk who explained the plan on making the chain to tie up kara. Len's job was to help Mack and Haley get iron from a nearby Iron deposit as well as cool down the chain while it was being heated up. Len already liked the idea. "Alright I'll get right to work then! Whenever your all ready lets get that iron! Len told Haley and Mack. "Let's be quick about it though. Who know's how long she'll stay asleep."

Mack, knowing what to do, got right to its job. Adjusting its magnetic arms, Mack had its arms parallel to the ground. The iron that they are looking for could be deep. So Mack lowered down, almost touching the earth. To create a range of magnetic pull, Mack slowly had its hands smoothly rotate at the joints.
For a short while, Mack didn't detect anything below. "Are you positive there are iron deposits beneath this dirt?" Mack asked. But it asked too soon and felt a small pull on its left hand.
"I think I picked up something!" Before letting Haley and Len do their part, Mack put Kara's pistol from before on the ground as a marker.
Mack then quickly thought of something. "Wait. Do we have the privilege to dig here?" Mack remembered the fact that they were now officers, but it wanted to be sure.

Mack was curious about if it was alright to take iron out of the ground just like that. It's not like they owned the metal. It would sort of be like stealing. Len didn't really see too much wrong with it though so he said to mack..

"Well we're just using it to tie up one of the most well known criminals around. I don't think they would mind us borrowing a LITTLE bit of iron. It's for a good cause anyways." Len explained. Len looked at where the pistol was placed, Marking the location of the iron of course. "So there's iron here huh? Comon Haley, Let help mack get this thing out of there." Len was thinking of using bubble beam but... after a bit more thought, Water sport would probobly make things a bit more faster seeing how much it spreads.

Haley had been frozen with fear after Kara had launced the x-scissor attack. Now however, she saw that the dangerous criminal had been put to sleep and relaxed. Now all they needed to do was figure out what to do with her. A few ideas were tossed around, but wrapping her in chain to prevent flight seemed like a good one, and Shierk seemed to know how to make a custom chain. After listening to his plan, the pokemon set to work on the project.

First, Mack used it's magnets to search for an iron deposite, and after a few minutes it succeeded. Then, the genderless pokemon surprised Haley by asking if they were allowed to take the metal that they had found. "Oh yeah, of course we can. I was told by the commander here that we can take things like that as long as stuff we find is on HQ property." After hearing what Len had to say as well, Haley hoped that Mack was convinced. It was her job to soften the soil so that they could get it out, and with her connection to the ground, Haley knew that that would be easy. Putting forth her full effort, Haley executed a water gun on the earth. Wow, I really am getting good at this.

Rani smiled as she watched Shierk's eyes light up. So, this was his element, eh?
Rani watched in fascination as Mack set to work using his magnets to bring up the iron under the ground as Haley assured him that they had the right. She began to walk over to Rokan, eager to get started and use her skills to help the group. She was also ready to receive any kind of help Rokan could give her about controlling Ember. Having only used it once (she shuddered as she remembered the reason) she wasn't confident about her abilities, and since Rokan had been doing it for longer, she could give her some pointers.
Rani wasn't sure she'd allow another Pokemon to help her hone her skills, but Vulpix were definitely worthy of her respect, and Rokan had already proved herself a gracious comrade.
"I'm prepared to help in any way I can," Rani announced. "So, where are we making this fire?"

"We'll need kindle," Rokan answered, tearing her eyes away from the Magnemite as it scoured the earth for iron deposits. "Anything dry that can easily catch fire. I can dig out a hole in the ground, and if you'll find rocks we can place them around the edges to try and keep the flames from going outside of the hole. A water type can stand nearby, just in case. We'll Ember at the kindling and it should catch fire quickly enough, and as soon as a little piece does more should. It's like a domino effect."

As an afterthought, she added "And if you're unsure how to direct the flames, use your tongue. Try to keep them off the roof of your mouth, but only open your jaws as wide as needed, no wider. Inhale as you release the flames, because that will make them hotter. It'll take some practice but you should get there eventually."

"I've got an odd feeling of deja vu and I'm beginning to sense some sort of pattern here" Max couldn't help but think with a slight frown, she was sure that the others didn't intentionally leave her out of their little iron hunt and chain making escapade, but it hurt her slightly that she couldn't really be of much help, well she probably could be of some use, with her strength but she wasn't exactly sure what that use could be, so she didn't say anything. Shrugging the distraught feelings away Max glanced briefly at Kreep, they didn't ask for his help either, maybe they could finish their little spar while the others made the chains to keep Kara from escaping.

Len just kept spraying and spraying on the water until his feet started sinking into the ground beneath him like mud. "Uh.. I think we overdid it." Len said, Laughing a little bit. After hopping out of the way, Len made the call to Mack. "Alright Mack! I think the ground is more then soft enough! Let's pull out the iron!"

Len was beat. Joining an elite police force, Defeating kara... So much happened in one day. It was almost overwhelming for Len. All that was left was to cool down the chain and maybe he could relax a little bit. For now Len rolled onto his back and just spoke to the sky. "I really hope your watching me up there buddy. I'm down here doing work and your probably sitting on a cloud or something". Len was hoping that Sneasel officer WAS listening up there.. where ever he was.

It was probably looked weird to see Len talking to the sky in everybody else's view. They didn't even know about his dead friend or his whole back story anyways. All Len did for now was just sit there and think about the future.

"No matter, after all, extra wet dirt makes mud." Mack complimented Len.
Nearly touching the ground with its hands, Mack tilted them perpendicularly to the dirt and increased its magnetic pull as hard as it could. "I can do this. I can do this." It spoke softly to itself.
From below, Mack heard a soft, rumbling sound, slowly getting louder and louder. The drenched dirt and grass start to slowly move out of place.
Mack was already starting to lose its magnetic pull and was tiring, but determination kept it going. "I...almost....have it......unearthed!" It said weakly as it was practically stressing itself out.
Right below him, a small, pointed mound of dirt started to appear out of the ground.
Unfortunately, after it emerged a few inches, Mack suddenly stopped his magnetic pull and slowly landed on the grass beside it.
".....Job...comlete." Mack spoke as it rested.

After wetting the ground a bit and watching Len overdo his share, Haley stepped back and said that she felt it was time to recover the iron. Len had stopped his water sport too, and apologized for going overboard with it. "No, it's okay. That just makes it all the easier to remove the iron. Take it away Mack!"

The magnemite lowered itself to the ground and began a process that seemed like it would be painful or strenuous. For a second, Haley wasn't sure that he was going to make it. She was proven wrong however, when Mack lifted a good looking chunk of metal out of the ground. "Nicely done Mack! Okay, Sheirk, you say you're in your element with things like this. Go for it!"

Rani nodded when Rokan had finished giving her instructions. So, she needed to find kindle and rocks. Well, that shouldn't be too hard. It was only carrying it that was the problem. Her lack of opposable toes and a need to use all four paws to walk could make this very tricky indeed.
But Rani began to look around for anything that could make good firewood, and her eyes caught sight of Max, who was standing around looking dejected.
Of course, no one had asked her for any help. Perhaps she was looking a little left out...
But Rani could change that. In fact, Max was perfect for helping her to collect rocks. Kreep, too, could put himself to good use by helping her gather kindle. Oh yes, they were all going to work as a team.
That was, everyone who was outside. Where were the others?

Rani approached Max happily.
"You're looking a little out of sorts," she commented. "Would you like to help me try and find some kindle and rocks for the fire? My quadrupedal anatomy makes carrying stuff in my paws pretty difficult, so, what do you say?" She glanced over at Kreep, who she hadn't spoken to since the tickling incident. She hoped he wasn't too angry with her... "You too, Kreep, if you want..." she added meekly, before looking at both of them. "Please?"

When Rani had padded over to Max, asking for her help collect wood and rocks, the Machop sort of just stood there blinking "Uhh sure, I'll help" she responded with a lopsided grin "Well, some work is better than no work. . . even if it is lugging around sticks and rocks" she thought looking at Kreep, she wondered what his response would be, seeing as how she believed the Bellsprout had some type of romantic interest in the Growlithe, despite the confusion they had gone through a while earlier.

"Thank you," Rani replied to Max after she hesitantly accepted the offer. "The more of us help, the sooner we can get these chains finished and Kara safely detained. I can't gather this stuff on my own."
She didn't like to be dependent on this odd Pokemon, nor on Kreep, who still creeped her out and had terrified her before, but she had no choice. She couldn't carry things effectively enough. If only she had been a bipedal Pokemon- But no! If she was bipedal, she wouldn't be a Growlithe. The inability to carry things in her paws was a necessary sacrifice for the greater good. As it was, she had colleagues who could do things like that for her, which was good.
Max looked at Kreep to see how he would reply, and Rani did the same. She hoped that he'd agree and that he'd still talk to her. It wasn't her fault that he'd decided to tickle her, or that Shierk had gone over and beaten him up, and she had planned to speak to him when she returned after she had fainted, but he'd already moved on. Now there had been all this confusion with Shierk's nightmare and Kara's intrusion, Rani hoped it wouldn't be too late to mend their relationship. Perhaps he would be willing to try and sort something out.
Not that it really mattered, when it came down to it. She was here to protect her colleagues, not make friends with them. If he didn't want to talk to her it was his problem and his loss. Why should she mourn the loss of a friend like him? An obnoxious, violent and annoying Bellsprout? No, he was the one losing the friendship of a Growlithe.
Rani immediately wiped any smug look she may have had off her face as she realised what she was thinking. 'No,' she thought to herself. "That's not true. You're no better than him, especially not with an attitude like that."
So Rani put a smile on her face as she looked hopefully at Kreep. No matter what her pride may have said, she really didn't want to lose him.

Rokan padded after Rani, at just as much of a loss as she was. Her jaws were her only possible way of carrying sticks and rocks, and though she often did things most beauty queen Vulpix thought was beneath them, she refused to cart sticks around in her mouth like someone's pet. Rocks, as well, would be difficult to carry in that way, so when Rani asked for the help of the two remaining bipedal Pokemon it made plenty of sense to her. Not only would they be gaining help to get it done faster, but it would be far more efficient as well, and less degrading.

"Thank you, Max," she said graciously.

Her eyes turned then to Kreep. The poor weedy Pokemon just couldn't catch a break. Hopefully he would find his place soon, and she intended to help him. And she was still displeased with their earlier spar; she'd downplayed her abilities to the point where he surely thought she was a worthless, empty headed female. But that was her own fault, and no one else's.

"Yes, your help would be lovely. If you want to, of course."

As Mack rested on the grass, exhausted, it slowly backed up away from the deposit to make room for Shierk's work.
That pull was the most strenuous thing that Mack had ever done in its entire life. For a moment, it thought it's arms were going to fall off under the strain.
Rani and Rokan seemed to be asking Max and Kreep something. Mack couldn't hear what they were saying. Slowly, Mack shifted over close by them to hear what they are talking about.
From the recent words they were just saying, Mack could tell they were asking for help to start a fire for the chains.
This reminded it about Kara, who was still out cold from the Hypnosis.
"We'd better, hurry. Or we're in deep trouble when she wakes up." Mack spoke in its mind.

OooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooMG......Dang it,I registered too late!

Shierk reached into his fur and he gently pulled out a pair of metal claws. They had three claws on them, and they went all the way to his elbows. He Gently used them to dig at the grass that was directly in front of him. He carefully continued digging until he had a hole that was two feet deep with a four foot circumfrence. Shierk built a wall out of the excess dirt on the rim of the hole. he jumped out and admired his handiwork. Sure, it wasn't the cutsom one at home, but it would work. Shierk dragged a boulder with a flat top over to the side of the hole. He found a rock that fit snugly in the palm of his hand and he set it down. Shierk saw the others gathering kindling and he noticed something bad. "Wait guys, before you continue, make sure that you don't get anything green. The dead brown stuff is usually bone dry, and it makes a much better kindling." Shierk shruuged slightly and went to help them. He found a dead log that wasn't hollow asnd he dragged it to the hole. He threw in a small ammount of kindling and held the rest in his clawed hand. He heald it out to the quadripeds. "Ladies if you would help me out a bit?"

"Ladies," Shierk's voice interrupted Rani's thoughts, "If you would help me out a bit?"

Kreep still had not replied, but now Rokan was also looking at him, and Rani was sure they'd be able to gather stuff on their own. It was too bad that she didn't have a chance to speak to Kreep, but such was life.
Rani padded over to where Shierk had dug an impressive hole. She gazed into it for a moment, then looked up at Shierk, who was holding out a pile of kindling that he had collected himself.
Was she supposed to take the kindling? She sat on her hind legs next to Shierk and held out her paws for the kindling, hoping that was what he'd meant and she wasn't making a fool of herself. After all, she had never seen a metalworker in action before.

Shierk watched as Rani reached out for the kindling. He laughed mildly before sayind, "I intended for you to set it on fire, but since you wanted it that badly..." Shierk held out his hand and set the kindling in Rani's open paw. Shierk smiled widely and he laughed again. "Okay, for real this time. could you use an ember on the kindling?"
