I love nicknaming my Pokemon. It's fun. I do have some that are not named, but that's because I was to lazy to think up of a name.

I remember in blue i nicknamed all my pokemon in 2 letter names.
I had TJ the blastoise
JR the pidgeot
JD the metapod
it ended up getting too confusing so i restarted
i never named any of my pokemon after that until diamond.

My shiny glaceon is named Snowcone but thats the only good name i could think of so its my only nicknamed pokemon.

I name my team members and ledgendaries.

All my competitive-worthy Pokémon are nicknamed.

It just isn't more beautiful asthetically, but it also adds a touch of personallity to your team.
The way you name your Pokémon says a lot about you. ;3

I used to NOT name my Pokemon... Now I ALWAYS name them :D I think it's cute.

I like making up creative or sometimes random names.
Example:
The Gallade I just got 10 minutes ago-- I named it Gallium (An element)
A soft silvery metallic poor metal, gallium is a brittle solid at low temperatures but liquefies slightly above room temperature and will melt in the hand.
Rofl...

I also named my new Torchic - Pele (Valcano Godess of Hawaii)
Sadly, Pele (My Pokemon) is boy... But... I still liked the name and including the
fact that i've been to Hawaii 6 diffrent times.

I still nickname them, ell, when I'm in a nicknaming mood.

I usually name Pokemon based on colours, I named my Mudkip 'Cobalt', my Ralts eh, I forgot what I name her.

Though at Pearl, I just nickname my Pokemon when I enter them into contest, so I wouldn't really feel different, guess what? It didn't work, my pokemon has such weird names like my Drifloon as 'FoooN', with the capital 'N', and my Lopunny as 'Lépunneh' or was it Lepuny?" Forgot alreayd, but I'm pretty sure it's weird.

Of course...not every single Pokemon, but just the ones on my team. For some odd reason though I never rename my legendaries, but that might be attributed to the fact that the ones I like are virtually event mon. :B

Some of mine: Porygon-Z: Z (lol, pronounced the American way), Sneasel: Sukriti, Espeon: Hans

I used to, but for some reason, it doesn't really appeal to me any more. MOst of 'em were pretty generic anyways, like "Torchy" for Torchic.

Although on an old file, I did notice that I named a female Geodude "Geodudette"...>.>;

EDIT: Also, looking on my Pearl version, I did notice that I named my Drifloon "Loony". What can I say? I'm no good with these things. =P

I'll name my Wailord Jonas :> ...

Ah, looking around my Pearl version again, I have a few other names.

I named my Psuedo-Blaziken (can't remember the official name) Funkey. Fire-Monkey. I used a "u" instead of an "o", so people would understand the pronunciation.

Here's some for Phoenix Wright fans.

I named a Roselia Dahlia, although I'm not sure why. Maybe the whole Rose has thorns=Hawthorne? I dunno.

Here's a good/bad one, depending on how you look at it. I named my Blissey, EGTHWORTH. Say it out loud. =P

I think naming pokemon makes them unique. I nickname every pokemon I have, excluding event pokemon and ones from a trade. Mostly, I name them after characters from my favorite anime/manga. Although quite a few are named after elements. My current team is:
Char the Infernape (and not as in Char for Chimchar, I meant it like Prince Charmont from Ella Enchanted)
Forrest the Torterra
Manaphy
Rai the Luxray (pronounced Rye)
Shadow the Absol
and Mamoru the Glaceon

I used to have Ace the Raichu and Anthony the Lucario in my team. I have a whole box of Eevee named after the villains in my favorite manga; another box with the heroes. I think it makes them a bit more special than just any random pokemon of that species. If I can't think of a name, I at least lowercase it because PIKACHU looks kind of silly compared to Pikachu, you know?

All 160 of my wifi usable pokemon are original nicknames.
It makes them more "mine".

Examples:
Breloom : Old Sludgy
Metagross : Gigamech
Garchomp : Sharkbait
Blissey : Epic OU
Porygon-Z : L33T H4X

I like to nickname my pokemon. : ) Often I'm just too lazy to make up any names, but if I decide to nickname my team, I might even put some effort into thinking names. Sometimes I've just looked words from the japanese dictionary, like Breloom-->Kinoko (mushroom) or Swablu--> Kumori (kumo=cloud, if I remember right). I've also named pokemons after anime characters that resemble them, for example,Torchic-->Ace(from One Piece, has eaten firefire-fruit). I only nickname my team, though, I'm too lazy to nickname all of my pokemon. In Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, however, I've tried to give a different nickname to every pokemon I have. I've usually just done it by changing their names a little, like Torchic-->Torchan, Mudkip-->Kippy, Treecko-->Recko. They just feel more mine if they're all nicknamed. :D

I've only named one pokemon in my Pearl version, and I haven't done any besides that one since the G/S/C days. The one I nicknamed is a shiny Absol, which I called "Calamity," because she creates calamity when she cuts through teams with her heightened critical-hit rate. That and she's a bit more special to me than most of my other pokemon, being shiny and all.

It annoys me when the pokemons name is in all caps for some reason so If I dont nickname I fix that. Instead of ROSERADE, I prefer Roserade. It looks better.

I'm pretty much the exact opposite. It messes me up when I sent out "Knuckles" the Typhlosion (And no, that's not a StH allusion, heh) when someone sends out "GYARADOS". I guess its just the fictional-immersionist in me, but I end up nick-naming my pokémon in block-caps If I do so at all.

I may have named 1 or 2 of my pokemon.
other than that I NEVER name.
My older sis, 18, names them really weird names,
they are people names too...
lol

I just give mine randoms names, my Aerodactyl is called A3R0 B4R lol.
