OK my friend and i have an idea for a pokemon game that we can play online. we have decided it has to be a single file...so not a patch for an existing pokemon game...email for more questions and stuff like [email protected]

wrong section dude....but do u have any proof of this?

Something like this is being developed already.

    Try again.

Yea https://mantis.desk.pl/PO/ is online and is 3D and ISN'T being made in a game development environment unless you think C++ is...
That is a great idea and would be awesome if it were complete...but I don't hold out too much hope. There are no screenshots to indicate that the game is in existance and not even any real progress reports on there.

it wouuld be sick but if pokemon doesnt get more fan too suport this it wont happen

Uh phoenix...why would they have that site then? and look at the screenshots theres a Pokemon Center and they're using C++ so it will take a while.

The Pokemon Center is just concept art, it says so on the site. There are no events or anything, it's just something created in a graphics program. What I'm saying is there is nothing to show that this is actually in production. And since the first update was in April, you'd expect them to be able to at least show off the basics. All there is to show are a few Pokemon models and the Pokemon Center concept art. Not too good for 8 months production really.

Rome wasn't created in a day was it? And if they are lucky they can get it done by 2006

I never said it was.But they aren't building a city, they are making a game which generally don't tend to take as long. I just think that by now they would be able to show something gameplay wise. Even if it is just the hero walking around a city. Just something to show what they have done in those 8 months.

So... Any other online games except for this and Netbattle or TPPCRPG(it sux)

Actually, as a programmer myself, and user of C ++, I feel that a 2006 debut would be very plausable. And average game development team (20-30 people) at some company, can do a game in 3d (a well done one) in a year or more. A team of 3-4 people, and 3 years is very possible. If you want a rushed game, then, by all means, they could have pics up now, which may not be that good, and an April Release could happen. But, if you want quality (which I'm sure they do, being the first of its kind), then give them time!

That game, it's been on for 8 months, eh? And it's showing not much sings of doing.

There is one (and it's showing sings of finishing) going on for over a year. Why is it easier? GBA version-styled graphics!

Uh...why would they be messing around with screen shots? They shouldn't yet cause they need to work more on it.

This discussion is going nowhere. Even professional games show off screenshots from a lot earlier in development. It only takes a few seconds to take a screenshot, it wont delay the production of the game. By now they must have some part of the gameplay programmed, any part. After 8 months something must work that they can show or they haven't made the right choice in making an online game. It doesn't have to be a battle or anything big like that. Just something to show it actually exists.

What is that? An online game? Can you link to any screenshots?

Like I said, maybe the development is only initial Engine development, or something along those lines, which means they can be using Filler graphics to represent a character, or player. The quality might not be so great in this case. I don't think you understand how Coding and or Programming at an advanced level works, phoenix, so, please don't assume anything. Also, professional games, usually have 20+ people working on a game, and, usually, about half way through development, you will start finding screens on the game. This is a MUCH smaller team, so, don't rush.

Yea what DMMP said!!! And they are getting more members...

EDIT: Oh yeah to the dude who is making the game: I will help.
