A small bird-like pokemon soared past Lucas. The bird had an orange beak that was tipped in black. The bird circled around and squirted Lucas in the face with her water gun.

Wingull
[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon - Orava Islands
The seagull Pokemon. It makes its nest on steep sea cliffs. Riding updrafts, it soars to great heights. Catching sea winds with its long wings, it soars as if it were a glider. It folds its wings to rest.

" Wing Gull Wing ". The bird Pokemon cackled. at least she found it funny.

" That, was not in any way funny and just for that, your going down, go Riolu ". Riolu jumped from lucas' side, he was ready to kick some butt.

" Ri Ri Olu ". Riolu looked at Lucas, waiting for commands,

" Okay Riolu use Aura Sphere ". Riolu charged up a ball of aura anf fired it towards Wingull.

" Wing Gull ". Wingull saw the ball approaching and fired a Water Gun, the water met the aura in the middle, the two attacks faded away.

" She's stronger than we thought, so try using Quick Attack ". Riolu ran at quite some pace towards Wingull, leaving a slipstream.

" Ri Olu ".

" Just before you reach her jump and use Force Palm ". As Riolu moved closer he jumped up and a Yellow bulge appeared on his palm, then he smashed it into Wingull which sent her flying to the floor.

" Wing Gull ". She said in pain as she hit the floor.

" Great work Riolu, now use Aura Sphere ". A ball of Aura flew towards Wingull and smashed her in the face.

" Wing Gull ". She recovered from her state and flew back up into the sky.

" Okay Riolu use Quick Attack ". Riolu ran towards Wingull then jumped up and smashed her to the floor.

" Ri Olu ". In said in delight.

" Now use Force Palm ". A yellow bulge appeared on Riolu's hand, he then smashed it straight into WIngull's face almost fainting her in the process.

" Ri Olu ".

" That's right Riolu, time to finish this use Aura Sphere ". A ball of aura was formed by Riolu he then thrusted it towards Wingull, when it connected it knocked her out.

" great work, Riolu now come back ". Riolu ran back and leap to Lucas' side, they then carried on walking until they came across a funny looking Pokemon, Lucas pulled out his Pokedex ready to scan the Pokemon...

"Up for a little battle..." Charmeleon began to move forward. "...Snorunt?" Charmeleon blanched and turned away with a glare.

"Sno!" Snorunt said happily, jumping up and down in excitement.

"Glig!" the scorpion bat called gliding above them before pointing its stinger at SNorunt. "Gligar!" Sharp needle's escaped from its tail, heading straight at the ice type.

"Freeze that Poison Sting with Powder Snow!" Tyson ordered.

"Nor!" Snorunt called, opening her mouth and releasing the cold snowflakes at the Poison Sting.

The snow hit true, freezing the needle's and forcing them to crash to the ground where they broke, now completely useless.

"Gli gli!" Gligar called angrily, charging at Snorunt, its tail poised out in front of it.

"Icy Wind!" Tyson ordered, watching the battle carefully, nervous that they were have a battle so close to the edge.

"Runt!" Snorunt called, mouth widening and releasing the freezing cold blast of air that was much colder and more powerful than its last attack.

"Glig!" Gligar screamed out in pain, flailing about in the air as ice began to cover it wings. "Gli gar!" Gligar snarled, finally making a snapping motion and breaking the ice, though still looking weary.

Tyson frowned in confusion, wondering why that attack seemed so effective against the pokemon. He was pretty sure it was a poison type... "Snorunt, keep it busy with Icy Wind!"

"Sno!" Snorunt called back in understanding and began firing icy air toward the flying scorpion.

"Gli!" Gligar called, dodging each attempt and throwing a Poison Sting back at Snorunt, who dodged just as easily.

"Now, what are you," Tyson wondered, pulling out his pokedex.

Gligar, the ground/flying scorpion pokemon. It sails on the winds with its limbs extended to strike from the sky. It aim for the prey's face.

So that explained it, it was a double weakness! "Snorunt, fire a Powder Snow all around! I want to see it snow!"

"Runt runt!" Snorunt said, bobbing her head. "Ruuun!" Icy snow shot out of her mouth and high above them all, where it soon began to fall above the battle field, making the atmosphere incredibly cold.

"Glig," Gligar growled, body shaking as he tried to keep a flight. "Ligar!" he called at last, dive bombing the ice type, stinger aimed at its face.

"Snorunt, dodge!" Tyson shouted.

"Sno!" Snorunt cried, quickly diving out of the way.

"Glig," Gligar smirked, tail simply turning to point behind it. "Glig!" Sharp needle's shot out, pouding nastily into Snorunt's back.

"Snooo!" Snorunt wailed in pain, little ball hands trying to rub her back.

"Snorunt, pay attention!" Tyson barked as Gligar came back for another round, once more aiming for the face.

"Sno sno!" Snorunt called, running back.

"Snorunt, don't run!" Tyson called in exasperation. "Icy Wind!"

Nodding, Snorunt opened her mouth wide, the icy attack striking even harder than before, what with the effects of the Powder Snow from ealier. It looked as if it were snowing, making the rmperature much cooler.

"Glliiig!" Gligar screamed in pain, crashing to the ground. "Glii," Gligar said lowly, struggling to get up. It looked at its claws and wings, noticing that they were covered in hard ice. "Glig!" Gligar snarled loudly, snapping his limbs about, breaking off most of the ice. "Liga!" Gligar jumped into the air and dive bombed Snorunt, though somewhat wobbily.

"Finish it," Tyson said, grinning. "Icy Wind!"

"Snor!" The icy attack blasted its way toward Gligar, but the scorpion pokemon just smirked.

"Glig!" it called out, beginning to spin crazily, though still dive bombing the ice type. The Icy Wind completely covered Gligar, turning it into a giant ice block, but as the pokemon had been spinning, a giant ice block was now spinning toward Snorunt.

"Snorunt!" Tyson shouted.

"Snoor!" Snorunt cried, the ice scorpion hitting head on and sending her flying. "Sno! Sno!" she bounced across the ground, flailing wildly as she headed toward the edge.

Tyson blanched. "Snorunt, return!" The red beam of light caught the cone pokemon just before she reached the edge, much to his relief, though it did irritate him a little that Charmeleon and Aron didn't seem to care.

"Gligg..." Gligar said weakly, now free from the giant ice block, thanks to the collision. His body still had bits of ice shards on him, which slowly sapped his strength because of his type. "Glig!" Gligar snarled, firing one last Poison Sting towards Charmeleon.

"Cha!" Charmeleon cried, arms getting hit with the attack. Sneering down at the panting pokemon, though Tyson could see a little respect in the fire lizard's eyes, and opened his mouth wide. "Charm!"

Red hot Ember's escaped his mouth, pounding mercilessly into the exhausted Gligar.

"Glig," Gligar said with a small grin, the ice around its body melting away at last. "Ger..." Gligar slumped to the ground, too weak to get back up, though still with that silly grin on its face.

"Thanks, Charmeleon," Tyson said, bringing out a pokeball. A clever mind like that one didn't deserve to be let go. He would have this one. "Go, pokeball!"

The pokeball flew at the bat pokemon, hitting Gligar and sucking him inside. The ball dropped to the floor and began to shake left to right a few times. After a few seconds, the ball stopped shaking and let out a ding to signify that the capture had been successful...

"Yes!" Tyson crowed, picking up the pokeball. "Another one for the team, eh?"

"Che," Charmeleon said with a shrug.

Tyson rolled his eyes. "Yea, whatever." He strapped the pokeball to his belt and looked up the path, noticing it was pretty much gone. "Look's like we climb from here. Aron, will you be ok, or do you wantto go back in the pokeball?"

"Ar," Aron said negatively, beginning to climb up the slopes skillfully.

"Cha." Charmeleon easily climbed up the slope, his claws digging into the side.

Dutifully, Tyson followed after, a bit slower than them. However, the area they were climbing wasn't too steep or slanted, making Tyson feel better. They climbed for a good hour before come to a rest once they were able to find a new trail that just started randomly. It seemed as if the mountain was full of little rest stops.

"What a view," Tyson said, wiping some sweat off his brow as he looked down the mountain.

"Chrr," Charmeleon said a little woefully, looking at the clouds.

Tyson felt a bit guilty, knowing how much the fire lizard wanted to evolve. Well, he would just need to find some more experience! Looking around, Tyson grinned as he noticed a pokemon slinking about in the distance, near the end of the trail. It was a...

"Let's do this, Charmeleon!" Tyson said excitedly. "Ember!"

"Cha!" Charmeleon barked eagerly, muzzle wide open and releasing the burning hot fire balls.

"Geo," Geodude said loudly, curling his arms around his body in Defense Curl, taking the attack. "Dude," it said mockingly, lifting a rocky brow at a pissed Charmeleon and smiling widely at Aron.

"Ron," Aron sighed, looking unimpressed.

"Charm!" Charmeleon said angrily, tail swishing back and forth in anger as his attack. "Meo!" Charmeleon snarled, mouth open once more to allow a much stronger Ember attack.

"Geo," Geodude winced, closing his eyes. Irritably, Geodude began picking up rocks and chucking them at Charmeleon in its Rock Throw attack.

"Dodge them!" Tyson called to his pokemon.

"Char! Char! Char!" Charmeleon called each time he dodged a sharp rock.

"Ember!"

"Charmelo!" Charmeleon roared, firing away.

"Geo!" Geodude bellowed, throwing more rocks at the same time.

"Char!" Charmeleon cried out, body soon covered in rocks. "Meleon," he said weakly.

"Geo," Geodude grunted, covering his head until the harsh attack was finished. He breathed out a sigh of relief and hopped over to Aron. "Geo," it said slyly, grinning cockily and flexing its arms.

"Ar," Aron said with a dismissive sniff.

"Geo," Geodude tried again, practically flexing his arms in her face.

"Aron!" Aron finally snarled, turning around and kicking up dirt.

"Geo!" Geodude cried out in pain from the Mud Slap, jumping back a bit in an anger. "Dude," it said nastily at Aron before feeling a tap on its back. "Geo?" Geodude turned around and blanched.

"Charr," Charmeleon said lowly, looking dangerous as he cracked his knuckles and stood in the shadows, making his face appear dark and his eyes glow sinisterly. "Meleon..."

"Geoo," Geodude said quickly, holding up his arms and backing up, smiling innoccently but instead backed into Aron.

"Aro!" Aron snarled, kicking up another Mud Slap, covering Geodude.

"Geod!" Geodude cried, randomly throwing rocks in desperation.

"Melo!" Charmeleon launched another Ember, hitting its mark.

Tyson just shook his head and sat down, watching the show. Honestly, his pokemon were like little kids! "Oi, just finish it already!" he called to the two as they beat up on the Geodude, the one that had gotten beat earlier lounging by Tyson and enjoying the show with him.

"Aro," Aron began.

"Melon!" Charmeleon finished as they launched their attacks at a scared Geodude.

A messy Mud Slap and powerful Dragon Rage surrounded the poor rock type, bringing up messy mud and draconic fire that tore at the Geodude's hide.

"Geo!" Geodude cried in pain, going limp and out.

"Ro," Aron sniffed, making sure to walk over the fallen pokemon before jerking her head at Tyson to get him going.

"Really, you'd think they would want a rest," he told the Geodude by his feet.

"Geod," the Geodude said with a shrug, making sure to grab his fallen fellow and drag him away from them.

"Char!" Charmeleon called to Tyson, pointing up ahead and stamping his feet impatiently.

"What is i... Ah, the next town!" Tyson exclaimed happily, unable to believe he had made it all the way to the top.

He looked around before blinking in shock. This was no town, it was a single pokemon center! Sighing, and thinking it was a resting point, Tyson entered the pokemon center and was greeted by Nurse Joy.

"Ah, we finally have our next challlenger!" she said in excitement.

"Chall... wait, so this is actually the next place to get a badge?" Tyson asked.

"You bet!" a new voice said jubilantly. A man of at least twenty-five years with brown hair and whitish blue eyes came out from the back of the pokemon center. "No a lot of folks want to live up here, what with the harsh wind, and so only the pokemon center, Nurse Joy here and myself stay here to challenge trainers. A trainer needs to prove himself worthy against the elements if he wishes to gain an honorable bade! Do you agree?" he barked.

"Yes, sir!" Tyson stood at attention, going stiff as the very large man, and very muscular, stood before him.

The gym leader grinned and patted him on the head. "Good. Heal your pokemon and rest for the night. We'll battle in the morning, does that sound good?"

"Yes..."

"Jason," the gym leader said. "Now go, and rest."

Tyson could only nod as the large man walked away, wondering what sort of pokemon a man like that used, especially in an area such as this.

A relatively small earth-colored creature creature walked out in front of Chris. The Pokemon looked very much like a Hippo, apart from the fact it apparently didn't need any water to survive... judging by the fact it was living way out on this Route. The creature was mostly a sandy colour, with darker colored highlights. It looked up at Chris questioningly...

[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon - Orava Islands

"Sweet!" Chris exclaimed as the Pokemon crawled out of the ground, "A Hippopotas!"

Theif jumped next to Chris, growling at the small hippo-like Pokemon. "Hold on there, Thief." Chris said, kneeling down and putting his hand in front of the Poochyena to stop him from charging, "Let Dile take this one. He has an advantage and it will give you a chance to learn about our tactics and moves."

Theif scoffed at Dile, turning it's head and looking away. "*sigh*... You're going to be a handful, aren't you... Anyways, Dile Go!"

Dile jumped in front of the Hippopotas, ready and poised for battle. However, the Hippopotas seemed rather uninterested, and yawned lazily. Theif rolled around on the ground, barking with laugher at the sight. Until both Chris and Dile shot him an annoyed look. Whining, Thief put his head down in shame before he resumed watching the battle.

"Ok, Dile use Water Gun!"

Dile took a deep breath, before shooting a blast of water at his opponent. The Hippopotas looked up at Dile, just in time to be hit in the face with the super-effective water attack. It was forced back a few feet, leaving skid marks on the ground. Suddenly, the fire and willingness to battle flared up in the Hippopotas, and it hastily lunged at Dile with a Tackle attack. Stunned by the Hippopotas' change in mood and it's sudden speed and agility, Dile was hit with the attack, sending him skidding back into a rock.

"Don't take that, Dile! Use Water Gun again!"

Dile took another deep breath and shot another huge blast of water at the Hippopotas, again hitting the Pokemon square in the head. Shaking off the pain, the Hippopotas one again summoned it's anger and charged at Dile. Theif watched intently at this Hippopotas willing and anger to fight and Dile's countermoves, taking note of everything. Much better than his previous attitude.

"Dile, jump left!" Chris yelled. At the last possible moment before the attack hit, Dile jumped left of the oncoming Hippopotas. However, the momentum continued to carry the Hippopotas forwards.

"Finish this with another Water Gun!" Chris barked as Dile took one last deep breath, and shot a tsunami of water at the Hippopotas, sending it flying into a nearby rock. It attempted to get up one more time, but then fell down, defeated.
"Good Job Dile!" Chris complimented, petting the small crocodile Pokemon on the head as the defeated and sulking Hippopotas scurried away. Suddenly, Thief began barking rapidly, just as another Pokemon appeared.

"Ok Thief, You can take this one!" Chris said as Dile climbed onto his shoulder. Thief stood, poised for battle as the Pokemon revealed itself to the group…

@Wolfsrain - Congratulations Totodile grew to Level 11

In front of Chris stood a medium sized, mostly yellow pokemon, except for black markings on its neck and hands. The pokemon also had red rings on its cheeks, and a knot on its head. The pokemon was standing directly in front of Chris and his pokemon showing no fear, it seemed to be issuing a challenge...

The ruffian Pokemon. It's the pre-evolved form of Crawdaunt. Its hardy vitality enables it to adapt to any environment. Its pincers will never release prey.

" Okay Riolu, it's time to battle ". Lucas looked down at his loyal partner.

" Ri Olu ". Riolu jumped fowards ready to battle.

" Corp Hish ". Before Lucas could mutter any commands Corphish fired a Buble attack, all the bubbles connected, sending Riolu to the floor.

" Wow, he's tougher than we thought, maybe we should capture him, what do you think Riolu ".

" Ri Ri Olu ". Riolu said, as if to say yes I need a friend.

" Well, we've got to weaken him first, so use Quick Attack ".

" Ri Olu ". Riolu ran towards Corphish, ready to smash him to the floor.

" Corp Hish Corp ". Corphish moved to one side, leaving Riolu to smash into a nearby rock.

" Yup, he's definetly quite strong, so Riolu use Aura Sphere ".

" Ri Olu ". Riolu summoned up a ball of aura and thrusted the ball straight towards Corphish.

" Corp Hish ". Corphish then turned a bright silver colour and the sphere just smashed on Corhish's hardened body, leaving no effect, then Corphish used Bubble and sent multiple bubbles flying towards Riolu.

" Riolu let them hit you then use Counter ". Lucas commanded.

" Ri Oluuu ". He winced in pain as all the bubbles hit him but then he turned a brownish colour and ran up to Corphish, before Corphish had time to react Riolu was punching and kicking him in frustration, then when the colour faded Riolu walked back to Lucas' side.

" Corp Hish ". Corphish was led on the floor in pain, until he regained his mind and pulled himself back to his feet, he was once again ready for battle.

" Riolu, use Aura Sphere ".

" Ri Ri Olu ". Riolu made a sphere of aura then pushed it towards Corphish.

" Corp Hish Corp ". Corphish fired a Bubble attack at the sphere, then when the two attacks met in the middle they both faded away leaving both Pokemon unharmed, Corphish stared at sky, wondering where the moves had gone.

" Now, while he's distracted use Force Palm ".

" Rio Lu ". A yellow buldge appeared on Riolu's palm, he then smashed it straight into Corphish's face.

" Corp Hish ". He fell to the floor, only just surviving.

" Okay, time to finish this, Riolu use Aura Sphere ".

" Rio Lu ". Riolu was standing over Corphish's battered body then he released a ball of aura, immediatly fainting the crab like Pokemon.

" Well, I guess it's time for this, go Pokeball ". Lucas took out a shiny Pokeball and threw it towards Corphish, with a flash Corphish was engulfed by the pokeball, it shook once, twice...

Today was the day of Tyson's next pokemon gym battle, and he had already had a pep talk with all of his pokemon before he even came outside, which was where he was right now, staring off against Jason. He had been told by the nurse what sort of pokemon Jason used, and it seemed he had no choice but to use his new pokemon, even though it had no training, but if his planned worked, everything would be alright.

"Ready?" Jason called over the roar of the wind.

"Ready!" Tyson yelled back.

"Arlight! Two on two, no time limit! Begin!"

"Go, Gligar!" Tyson yelled.

With a burst of white light, the scorpion pokemon appeared. "Glli!" it called happily, immediately flying high into the air, stinger poised, just like they had planned.

"Go, Machop!" Jason shouted, tossing his own pokeball.

With a burst of white light, a humonoid pokemon appeared with a small tail. "Moco!" it called, flexing a bit.

"Gligar, Poison Sting!"

"Glig!" Gligar called, though Tyson could barely hear over the wind. Pointing his stinger, he fired away.

"Machop, dodge!" Jason barked.

"Mop!" Machop called, running and swerving.

Tyson grinned. "Follow it!" he ordered.

The scorpion pokemon nodded and simply allowed its tail to follow Machop's movements. Being so high up in the air, it was easy to follow the fighting type's stance and eventually hit the poor pokemon.

"Machoop!" Machop cried out, cringing as he held his stomach and let out a hacking cough.

"Excellent plan!" Jason laughed. "Poisoning my pokemon right in the beginning! Machop, we'll show them! Seismic Toss!"

"Chop chop!" Machop cried, jumping into the air, arms open to snatch the flying scorpion.

"Dodge!" Tyson cried.

Laughing, Gligar used the fast moving wind to easily shoot out of the way, right before Machop closed its hands on open air where it had been just mere seconds before. "Gligar!"

"Ma," Machop winced, landing with a grunt on the ground. Its body shook as the poison took effect.

"Poison Sting!"

"Gli! Gli!" Tail poised, the thin needles shot out and struck the fighting type.

"Machop, Focus Energy!" Jason ordered.

"Poison Sting!"

Machop gave a grunt as he glowed a light yellow, looking prepared for anything, but then the poison took effect, sapping its health, followed by the sharp Poison Sting attack. "Maaaac!" Machop cried in pain.

"Karate Chop!" Jason ordered to his weak pokemon.

"Chop," Machop said, nodding before jumping into the air.

"Fly higher," Tyson ordered simply, though with enough force so his pokemon could hear him.

"Lger!" Gligar said happily, stretching his wings wider so that the wind caught him and immediately pushed him up, far away from Machop's grasp.

Jason gritted his teeth as he saw his pokemon fall to the ground, unable to stay on its feet as the poison took away more life and Gligar shot another Poison Sting. He sighed.

"An interesting battle plan; one that I should have been expecting." He watched Tyson order one last Poison Sting before his pokemon finally fainted. "Good job, Machop," he told his fallen pokemon. "Return."

"Maa," Machop said weakly before being recalled.

"And now for my strongest. Go, Hitmonchan!"

With a burst of white light, a humonoid pokemon with boxing gloves appeared. "Hitmo! it cried.
[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon - Orava Islands

"Bullet Punch!" Jason barked quickly.

"Dodge!" Tyson cried.

"Hitmo!" Hitmochan cried out, fists becoming a steel color and shooting a steel colored ring out of its glove so quickly that Gligar didn't even see it coming.

"Gliiig!" Gligar cried out, falling to the ground in pain.

Blanching, Tyson quickly recalled his pokemon before it fell to the ground. "Return!" The beam of red light hit the pokemon, sucking it inside the pokeball where it was safe. "Good job," he told the pokeball. "And now for my strongest," Tyson said with a grin that matched Jason's. "Go, Charmeleon!"

With a burst of white light, the gold colored pokemon appeared. "Char!" it cried, letting out a bit of flame out of its mouth.

"Hitmochan, Mach Punch!"

"Charmeleon, Ember!"

"Chan han!" Hitmochan cried, becoming a quick blur as it dodged the flying balls of fire. "Chan," it smirked, digging its gloved fist into Charmeleon.

"Cha!" Charmeleon gasped, the air getting knocking out of him. Thankfully, from the force against his stomach, the last of his Ember attack came spurting out of his mouth.

"Chhhaan!" Hitmochan cried, jumping back and beating his little skirt, where he had been lit on fire. "Can," the fighting type grimaced, shifting carefully.

Jason watched his pokemon, making sure it was ok before barking out his next order. "Pursuit!"

"Chan," Hitmochan nodded.

"Ember!" Jason barked.

"Charmeoo!" Charmeleon roared, opening his mouth and attacking before the fighting type even move. "Meee!" the fire lizard continued to scream as the last of the fire balls was released from his muzzle.

"Chan," Hitmochan grimaced, taking the attack before disappearing from view when it had finally stopped.

"Char?" Charmeleon looked around suspiciously before letting out a pain cry as the fighting type appeared from behind and punched it in the back.

"Charmeleon, are you ok?" Tyson yelled over the wind.

"Caa," Charmeleon said, nodding heatedly as he glared at the fighting type.

"Good. Now Ember!"

"Char!" Charmeleon cried out, muzzle wide and the fire attack spewing towards Hitmochan.

"Dodge and use Mach Punch," Jason ordered.

"Cho!" Hitmochan called, leaping to the side with a mocking smirk at the angry fire lizard before becoming a fast moving blur.

"Quick, Dragon Rage!" Tyson screamed at his pokemon.

"Chan!" Hitmochan snarled, pouding heavily into Charmeleon's back with its gloved fists.

"Cha ch ah!" Charmeleon cried out in pain as he keeled over, the Dragon Rage just barely managing to escape his muzzle.

"Chan!" Hitmochan cried as the draconic beam struck true in its chest, blasting it backwards and enveloping it in the dark fire.

"Alright!" Tyson cried, thinking he had won.

Jason smirked at him. "Really think its over, do you? Hitmochan, Revenge!"

The fighting type, which had been lying on the ground looking horribly burned and exhausted, suddenly jumped up, eyes burning angrily and its gloves colored in a purple fire. "Hitmmooo!" it cried, startling Charmeleon backwards.

"Dodge! Ember! Anything!" Tyson roared so quickly that he was sure he jumbled up his words.

"Chaaar!" Charmeleon cried out, the purple flaming fists sending it reeling backwards. "Me me me," the fire lizard coughed with each bounce on the ground. When Charmeleon had finally stopped slidinng across the ground, it opened one enraged eye so that it could stare at the panting Hitmochan. "Me," Charmeleon breathed out, firing one last Ember attack before closing his eyes in defeat.

"Charmeleon!" Tyson cried out, running over to his pokemon and ignoring the way Hitmochan was on his knees, thanls to that last attack. "Charmeleon!" he cried again, placing his hand softly on the fire lizard in worry.

Charmeleon had always been so strong, had always done his best and always done his best. In fact, the fire lizard had never lost before. It was a huge blow to Tyson, and he realized it would be an even bigger blow to the fire lizard once he woke up an realized.

"I think it would be best if you recalled your pokemon and continued our battle," Jason said suddenly, startling Tyson.

"Continue?"

Jason allowed a thin smile to appear on his face. "Your first pokemon, Gligar, can still battle."

Tyson swalled thickly. With a heavy heart, he recalled Charmeleon and released Gligar. "Go!" he called.

With a burst of white light, the flying scorpion appeared with a happy laugh. "Gligar!" it cried, looking down at an exhausted Hitmochan. It was standing on shaking feet and was holding its side.

"Bullet Punch!" Jason cried quickly, not giving Tyson time to gain his groundings.

"Po... Poison Sting!" he cried out falteringly.

"Gliga!" Gligar yelled, launching the sharp needles at Hitmochan right before it was hit with the hard force. "Glig!" it cried out, falling quite a few feet from the sky. "Gli gli," it panted, flapping his arms to gain his balance.

Hitmochan, on the other hand, cried out as loudly as he could when the Poison Sting bashed against his chest. From all the other attacks, as well as that monstrous Dragon Rage, it was done for. "Chaan..." it said softly, falling to the ground in defeat.

"Gli! Gligar gil!" Gligar cried happily, amazed that it had won against such tough opponents. With glee, it landed next to Tyson.

Tyson was staring at the pokemon in shock. One attack. One more attack was all that was needed, and Charmeleon would have won...

Jason walked over to Tyson with a rowdy laugh after he recalled his pokemon. Banging Tyson on the back, the large gym leader gave another loud laugh. "Don't look so down! You just won!" Tyson said nothing, feeling some type of heaviness settle around him. Jason leaned down. "Listen, kid," he said seriously. "Everyone has a pokemon who's a favorite, and they're all bound to lose sometime. It helps, you know, losing every once in a while. It helps you grow stronger, and right now you do have a pokemon that won, and its feeling horribly left out and unloved.

With a start, Tyson turned to Gligar that was looking horribly depressed. "Gli," it said softly, not knowing what was wrong. It had won, right.

"Oh!" Tyson cried with a grimace. "I'm so sorry, Gligar," he told his pokemon, giving him a congragulatory hug. "You were absolutely amazing out there," he told the beaming pokemon. "I guess I was just a little worried about Charmeleon..."

"Gligar! Gli lig arr garli gligar!" Gligar said quickly, snapping his pincers in understanding and happiness.

"Good," Jason said nodding as he and Tyson stood up straight once more. "In commemeration of your win, I give to you this badge."

With wide eyes, Tyson took his third gym badge. "Thank you," he said quietly, unable to believe how far he had gotten.

"Now let's go get us some grubb! Nurse Joy always makes a huge meal after a trainer challenges me! And after, we can give you directions to your next destination. I'm sure you're eager to move on for the next badge."

"Yes, sir," Tyson said energetically as Gligar settled onto his shoulder happily.

Together, they walked back to the pokemon center, Tyson still worrying about how Charmeleon will react over a loss...

@Wolfwhispers - Nice post. Wow, Tyson took Charmeleons loss pretty hard... still, epic battle :)

Congratulations Gligar grew to Level 11 and learned Harden
Congratulations Charmeleon grew to Level 22 (deserves something after a battle like that!)

Congratulations Tyson won a Mountain Badge

"From her, the best idea would be for you to go to the Deep Cave," Nurse Joy told Tyson, "As the name suggests its an underground cave filled with wild pokemon. Unfortunately its the only way to reach the other half of the Island from here. Since you beat Jason I'm sure you will be fine!" she said encouragingly.

The Gym Leader nodded in agreement before giving Tyson directions, "You'll be fine kid, trust me! Just head down the North side of the Mountain and you'll reach the entrance to the Deep Cave at the bottom. Don't worry you'll see it from a mile off! Head through the cave, and there is a Rest Point at the entrance on the other side. You can get directions to other Gyms from there!"

The enthusiasm coming off the two had been great, but as soon as Tyson's pokemon had been healed and he had eventually found the cave, (which took at least two hours of mindless walking) he had to let Charmeleon out to light up the darkenes cave. Suffice to say the pokemon was one angry little pokemon.

"Oh, come on, Charmeleon," Tyson tried, walking carefull along the wet cave ground. It had a damp, mossy type smell to it. "You were awsome! So what if you lost. Everyone loses. What, do you expect to go undefeated fo eternity?"

Charmeleon gave him a look that clearly said that's what he though. "Che," Charmeleon spat, a slither of a flame shooting out. A voice somewhere in the distance gave a squeak. Charmeleon was on it immediately. "Char!" Charmeleon roared, charging at whatever it was.

"For the love of..." Shaking his head, Tyson ran off after the fire lizard, feeling a bit envious that the pokemon could easily run around the damp floor without slipping because of the claws it had on its feet.

"Meloen!" Charmeleon roared, firing an Ember attack of to Tyson's side.

Turning swiftly, he saw the pokemon dodge the attack and give a loud snarl in return. He quickly brought out his pokedex to see what it was...

@Wolfwhispers -
In front of Tyson was a short yellow and black Pokémon. Its skin was made entirely out of steel, and its legs had yellow coverings that gave the appearance of a dress or bellbottom pants. The pokemons most notable feature, however, was a pair of huge jaw-like horns growing from the back of its head...
[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon - Orava Islands
Mawile
Type: Steel
Gender: Female
Attacks: Astonish, Fake Tears
Nature: Mild

Character Name: Jand Harona
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Appearance: Jand has white (White from birth, not from age) long hair that falls down a little past her shoulders. Her eyes are light blue and glimmer in the sunlight. She is very pale without any tan at all. All of her facial features are normal for her type of age, also. She stands at 5'6''. She is skinny, but not so skinny you can see her ribcage. Her feet are also normal for her age. She has muscle, but not alot. She also looks very fragile, in a way. She usually wears blue dresses or skirts made out of silk, because her family is wealthy. She sometimes wears her hair in braids. She hardly ever wears T-shirts, except when it is very hot outside. She has a white backpack made out of leather.
Personality: Jand is a very calm person, and very shy. She believes in all things good, and treating people fairly and politely with respect. She never gets angry or raises her voice, and talks in a small quiet voice. She is a great leader, but doesn't like to lead. She will help out anyone in need, but not for selfish reasons. She is very obedient and will do things under harsh conditions, as long as it's for the good of others. She will not join the gossip or drama of other people, even if it's for a good reason. She believes that is their business.

History: Jand was raised in Blackthorn City, located in the Johto Region. Her dad was an elder member of the Dragon Den, a powerful group of dragon trainers and masters. Her family were the wealthiest in the town, even richer then the Gym Leader and the Chief Elder of the Dragon Den. She loved to play with his Dratini, so much that her father gave his Dratini to her. Many people in her village and in the Dragon Den realized that Jand had something special with Pokemon...Two years later, when Jand was twelve, her mother got lost on the Ice Path and never found her way back. They found her three weeks later, frozen to death. After that, Jand became more quiet and calm. Her Dratini noticed this, and even though they still had great times together, Dratini was sad that Jand became more calm and quiet. Jand didn't decide to go to Orava Islands, her father decided for her. But Jand wasn't the type of person to say no to other's request-so she went.
Preffered Starter: Dratini, Female
How Obtained: Jand's father obtained Dratini when it was in the lake behind the Pokemon Gym. It was very cold and shivering, so her father wrapped her in a towel and took her home. Jand's mother was ok by the Dratini staying in the house, when she saw how much Jand would love her. Dratini had a terrible illness, and they had to have Nurse Joy come to their house to treat her. It turned out she had got her illness from being too cold out in the lake, but soon she recovered and turned into a joyful, fun loving Dratini. Jand recieved Dratini from her father at age 8, five years after they got Dratini, when her father noticed that Dratini was strong and how well Jand bonded with her. Jand was very happy about this, and still remains faithful like she always has to her Dratini.
Group: North-East

Jand headed towards Bebay Lakes. Her movements were quiet, quick, and graceful. Her Dratini was floating on her right side, smelling the fresh air of the tropical-like island. They weren't used to being around green, fresh trees all the time. The only time she had really seen a tree besides an Evergreen, was when her father and she had the high honor of attending the Johto Pokemon League Championship Battle. She almost cried as she thought of the snow covered city she grew up in. "Think of what's happening now...", She told herself. Her Dratini kept straying away from her to smell the Palm Trees and fresh, warm, air. She actually picked the lakes because of Dratini-Dratini loved water. Although Dratini was a tough pokemon, she was actually the small one back home. She was only 7'8'' long, and that was very small compared to the other Dratini and Dragonairs. Jand tried to teach Dratini that her size didn't matter, but Dratini always got gloomy when she was around the other Dragon-type Pokemon. As she walked by, she heard the sound of boy's laughter. She saw in a small clearing two boys trying to harm a Wurmple...The Wurmple had a scared look on it's face while the boys tried to poke it with a stick. "Try not to interfere," She told herself. She didn't feel like getting into a fight on her first day here...But Dratini had already gone over there and hit the two boys with her tail. The boys ran off, spooked. "Dratini...Don't do things like that, please." She said quietly. The Wurmple then fled quickly, vanishing into the bushes. Then Jand and Dratini continued their walk, and stopping every often so Jand could splash some water on Dratini. Jand did it playfully and for a reason, because without water, Dratini could faint easily. Dratini swung her head over to some nearby palm trees, and behind a palm tree came a...

[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon - Orava Islands

"Meleon!" Charmeleon roared, banging his fists against his chest like a mad man. "Chaa!" With that finaly roar, Charmeleon unleashed a massive Ember attack that actually lit up the whole level they were on in the cave.

"Maw!" Mawile snarled, the large mouth on its head immediately grasping a large rock and swerving around. The Ember hit the rock mostly, but a few spare balls didn't hit the rock and instead hit the back of Mawile's head.

"Cha!" Charmeleon roared, charging forward, tail swinging crazily and sending lithes of flame everywhere, with his claws extended, Charmeleon struck.

"Yea, yea," Tyson yawned, already used to his pokemon's behavior. He had been like this back on the island, back when he was still just a hatchling and wrestling with the other chars. "Charmeleon, maybe a few more Embers instead of Scratch? You know, something effective against a steel type pokemon?"

"Char! Char! Char!" Charmeleon snarled, viciously slashing his claws at Mawile's body.

"Maw!" Mawile finally snarled, knocking the mad pokemon back with an Astonish.

"Che," Charmeleon winced, giving Mawile time for another Astonish attack.

"Meleon!" Charmeleon roared, opening his muzzle wide and pelting the up close pokemon with a large dose of burning hot Embers.

"Wile!" the steel type cried, looking at Charmeleon imploringly, giving him a large, teary eyed look.

"Che," Charmeleon scoffed, unaffected by the Fake Tears attack. "Me!" With a swipe of his claws, Charmeleon sent the steel type reeling.

Tyson made himself comfortable as he sat on a rock. He released all of his pokemon. When they all appeared, they all gave him questioning looks as Charmeleon battled in the background.

"Charmeleon's having a little fit and I could use some better company right now," Tyson told them.

"Snoo," Snorunt crooned, patting Tyson comfortingly on the arm and giving Charmeleon a sad look.

"Ar," Aron scoffed, shaking her head. She was completely annoyed with this babied pokemon. Ignoring the high pitched scream the Mawile gave off when Charmeleon Ember'd her open mouth, Aron began to forage around for something interesting.

"Gliga!" Gligar said energetically lifting a claw and rooting for Charmeleon.

"Chl." Charmeleon looked up, distracted from the fight by the sound of Gligar's voice. It gave the poison type a dark look, but that was enough time for Mawile to strike.

"Gli," Gligar muttered, bringing a claw up to his mouth, wincing as Charmeleon was bashed right in the face by Mawile's giant mouth.

"Ooh, that had to hurt," Tyson said with a laugh. "Come on, Charmeleon! Put some more effort into it and stop angsting over some stinkin' loss!"

"Meeel!" Charmeleon roared, stamping his feet angrily and spewing flame everywhere. Snarling at Tyson, Charmeleon turned back to a horribly burned Mawile. He opened his golden muzzle, knowing he would enjoy this. "Char!" Burning hot draconic fire escaped from his mouth, hitting the steel type pokemon head on.

"Maaaaa!" Mawile screamed, shaking and rolling around on the ground in pain as its steel body was becoming charred.

"Meeee," Charmeleon breathed out slowly, letting his deep voice turn into a growl. Tail slamming against the ground, he gave one disdainful look at the defeated pokemon and ran off, deeper into the cave and ignoring Tyson's calls.

"Charmeleon!" Tyson barked. "Charmeleon! Get back here!"

All he heard was a distant, "Cr le!" which stood for "Piss off!"

"Son of a... Damn, stubborn lizard," Tyson growled, already running after his pokemon. "Come on everybody!" he barked at his pokemon before coming to an abrupt stop. "Not now," he said with a sigh, eyeing the large pokemon that was blocking his path.

It growled lowly and dug at the ground before giving a loud bellow. It clearly wanted to battle...
