The flight to Route 11 was going smoothly, nothing remotely bad had happened and the were making progress she sighed and absentmindedly reached up to pet Bolt, who shifted on her shoulder "I wonder what up with Bolt... he's been giving Gage the evil eye ever since we took off" her lips quirked into a small smile at the thought "I'll never understand boys" her muscles tensed slightly when the Fearow swooped low, relaxing once more when it righted itself "Almost there" she thought grinning, Angela could see the ground coming closer to them, being on solid ground never had excited her this much.

Angela glanced back briefly at Gage, feeling his grip tighten when the bird swooped again "Hey... could you ease up a bit? You're squeezing a bit tight..." with that said, Gage immediately released all the pressure he had with his arms around her trying his best not to cause her any discomfort, "I'm Sorry!" Gage exclaimed "Don't worry about it." Angela replied with a smile and Bolt scowled.

Angela heaved a relieved sigh as Sly's Fearow landed "Final— eep!" Gage's hands had landed in a place where they shouldn't have been, which is why she froze upon feeling an unfamiliar weight on her chest "The nerve of that…" she mentally seethed, she bowed her head and began to breathe deeply, counting backwards from 10, while Gage pulled his hands back quickly, upon realizing his mistake her faced heated up quickly and she felt her ears turn red.

"Piikaa"

Bolt turned towards Gage, snarling threateningly, his cheeks sparking violently as Angela turned around as well her eyes narrowing sharply while she intoned with a clipped voice "I thought you said you weren't a pervert..." Gage yelped and stumbled off Fearow, falling backwards onto his butt and she had to grab Bolt and hold the enraged mouse down, to keep him from ripping Gage's face off "I'M SO SORRY! Please believe me that was completely unintentional, I would never disrespect you like that!" Gage exclaimed in a frantic tone, extremely sorry for his actions "I'm so sure...." She hissed holding Bolt as tightly "Never... Ever let it happen again..." Angela's eyes flashed with rage.

Gage quickly jumped to his feet and began apologizing, "Oh thank you so much.... I swear it won't happen again!" Bolt on the other hand had finally managed to wiggle out of Angela grip and he let loose a powerful Thundershock, resulting in Gage falling back on his butt, his body tingling and twitching from the angry shock and Angela felt no remorse for the boy at the moment.

Unfortunately, Gage wasn't the only creature hit by Bolt's attack. Behind Gage two rat-like Pokémon, one larger than the other began making loud angry noises and snarling at the two trainers, Bolt's shocks must've strayed from its intended target. The larger of the two jumped at Gage and bit into his bandaged arm going deep into the still tender flesh. Angela watched as Gage cried out in pain and began trying to get his hands on the small rat Pokémon trying to get it off him, he was flailing his arm wildly.

The other Rattata jumped up, aiming to take Bolt out when suddenly there was a loud whoosh and the smaller Rattata was plucked from the sky by a HootHoot. "Hooot!" it cooed the bird Pokémon quickly began to fly away with its meal and Angela chased after it with Bolt following behind but not before she called back to Gage "I really need a flying type, sorry!" And she disappeared far from Gage's view.

"Aww how'd we lose it!?

"Pikachu/Sneasel"

Both Pokémon regarded her with a shrug, unsure "Alright… Nel, check the above the treetop and alert us if you spot anything" Nel nodded before quickly scuttling into the nearby tree and climbing up the bark. They had been chasing after the HootHoot for quite a few minutes and the trio seems to have lost the bird through the tree's

"Snease! Sneasel!"

Nel was in a tree and pointed to the area directly ahead of them, the HootHoot ws in the middle of the clearing, its back was turned to them "Hey HootHoot—!" the trio had ran up on the bird, only for Angela to gasp and look away, the Ratatta it had swooped up only moments before was brutally mutilated by the hungry bird, even though this was normal for those higher up on the food chain, seeing something like that up close sickened her "Hoot" the bird turned sharply on them, with a hard gaze "HootHoot" it cooed lifting itself into the air challengingly "Hoooot!".

"Right… Bolt, get in there and use Thundershock!"

"Piikachuu!"

"Hoot!"

HootHoot dodged the attack by veering to the side and then rammed Bolt with a full body Tackle and then followed up with a series of Peck attacks "Hoot.Hoot.Hoot.Hoot!" Bolt used his arms to cover his head while the HootHoot continued its merciless pecking "Piika" Bolt was beginning to get annoyed "Thundershock again!"

"Piikachuuu!"

Due to being up close, the HootHoot got a good shocking, the bird cried out before its body lit up from the shock Angela grinned and tossed a Pokéball at the paralyzed bird, she watched as it wobbled back and forth.


(Bleh.. I hated that battle.... worst thing I've ever typed >.< I think its today... today, has just been an off day ._.)

ShadowYashi: Eh it was a good post, but the battle wasn't great lol.. it must just be today, becuase you've had really good battle posts ha.. Anyways Angel caught a lvl 14 male Hoothoot.

 

[Wolfwhispers]

"So you're my next challenger," Shaun mused, tilting his head at the tense looking guard. He was in front of the old lab, and all he had to do was beat this last guard and he'd be in. Currently, he was facing off against a Ditto. The Gible he had captured earlier was facing against it. "Gible, Dragon Rage!" he barked.

"Gible, Transform!" the lab guard said quickly.

"Dii," Ditto said with a nod of its jello like head. Its body began to morph, but unfortuanently for the normal type, it transformed into the look alike Gible just as the Dragon Rage engulfed it. "Giiii!" the newly made Gible screamed in pain, thrashing about on the ground.

"Dii... Ditto! Snap out of it! Fight back with your own Dragon Rage."

"Return," Shaun said dully, just as the Dragon Rage hit the ground. "Go, Golduck!"

With a burst of white light, the blue duck pokemon appeared. "Gool!" Golduck cried, swinging his tail around as he took notic of the Gible/Ditto.

"Ditto, use Dragon Rage!" the guard yelled, angry that Shaun made that sudden switch.

"Hit it with Water Gun!" Shaun commanded.

Taking a deep breath, Golduck opened his beak and fired the heavy galleons of water at the incoming draconic fire. As soon as the water hit the mutated fire, a loud explosion was created around the area, pushing the two pokemon back a ways.

"Gol," Golduck gasped, holding his chest as some of the explosion delt damage.

"Giii," Ditto said weakly, body quivering as it fought to keep control of its transformation.

"Finish it with Water Gun," Shaun commanded.

"Gooo!" Golduck cried, quickly releasing the fast water attack and hitting Ditto right on the spot.

"No, Ditto!" the lab guard cried, trying to urge his pokemon up.

"It's no use," Shaun stated. "Gible is part ground. I knew when you sent out that Ditto I would need to send out a pokemon on my team that had a major weakness. Gible was it."

The guard glowered angrily before his eyes moved hesitently to the Sneasel eyeing him slyly by the boys' side. It licked a paw and gave him a smirk. "Go, Porygon2!" he cried out in fright.

With a burst of white light, a strange, almost bird like pokemon appeared.

"Golduck, use Water Gun!" Shaun barked.

"Porygon2, Psybeam!" the guard yelled quickly.

"Poor," Porygon2 said with a sigh, sending out a beam of purple light towards the water type pokemon, only to be blasted back by a blast of water.

"Duck!" Golduck cried in pain, stagger back as the psychic blast of energy pounded against his skin, burning it away.

"Porygon2, Conversion!" the grunt said quickly. As his pokemon glowed a brief glow, he smirked. "Now your water attacks won't help much now that Porygon2 is a water type!"

Shaun shrugged. "Go, Gible," he said, tossing the pokeball and releasing the dragon type.

"He...hey!" the man yelped. "Two on one is unfair! What, aren't you man enough!?"

"You just aren't worth it," Shaun entoned. "Gible, Dragon Rage. Golduck, Confusion..." As his two pokemon beat up on the quivering Porygon2, he gave a nod to Sneasel.

"Snea!" Sneasel cried with relish, slashing the man's throat with a clean sweep of the claw. Just as the man fell to the ground, Porygon2 was blasted at the dark types feet. "Es," Sneasel smirked as he powered up the Shadow Ball between his paws. Both Gible and Golduck came to stand around the normal type, each powering up their own attacks. With a loud cry, Dragon Rage, Water Gun and Shadow Ball was blasted into the data pokemon, sending it flying away.

"Prrrr!" Porygon2 cried, shooting away from the battle simply from the force of the blast before landing a good few yards away where it lay on the ground, completely limp.

"Good job," Shaun said, turning his back on his pokemon, knowing they would follow as he entered the lab. He blinked as he noticed the other two were already there. Professor Oak was already apprehended... "I suppose we're done here," he said gruffly, fixing his mask.

Again that one boy looked at him, trying to pinpoint a name and make it look like he already knew who he was. He didn't. He still needed a face...

Chapter 2

Loose Ends

As you all three stand there looking at the old professor sipping away at his cup of coffee and reading the news paper, you wonder why he is so calm. "Ahh good day boys, how can I help ya?" he says with a smile. You all look at him strangely as something is very different about this Oak... All of a sudden his body is covered in shadows and when they clear, you see Beo sitting in the chair instead, with his legs crossed and clasping his hands together. He then gets up out of his chair, and walks over to Prof. Oaks huge wall map of Kanto.

"Well my apprentices, that was a pretty good job, of getting here but to bad for us someone has already relocated Oak to a new place, probably far out of Kanto... that old man always seems to alude me" Beo says in anger as he punched the wall in front of him. He then pulls out a pokeball and starts spinning it between his fingers. Beo seems to be thinking about something, and he doesn't seem to happy.

"Ok listen up, I have decided it is time to take full control of Kanto by taking out the rest of the rebel gym leaders, and a few other people who have held out.. So one by one your going to come in and i'm going to give you your new mission." Beo said as he makes the three of you wait outside the door. He then brings in Grecko first.

Grecko Mission:

"Well Grecko, you may have one the most important jobs here, i'm going to give you the chance to prove yourself by giving you two gym leaders to take out. Your first target is Misty of Celadon City, after that you will head towards cinnebar Island to take out Blaine, who is the strongets gym leader out of the four reamaining, but beware because Cinnebar Island is home to Sly and her new group, they will no doubt kill you if they get the chance." He says as all of a sudden a black shadowy vortex opens up, and Beo pushes you into it "This will take you to mount moon, no go!" Beo shouts.

Inside this shadow vortex you look around and see shadows moving swiftly around, but before you can tell what is going on you are shot out of it, landing on the hard dusty cave floor of mount moon.

Mission Max

You walk into the room, and notice that Grecko is no where to be found, and wonder what happened, but ether way you take a seat on the chair infront of Beo. He then starts explaing your mission. "Good old max, killing your own brother now thats low.. even for me (he is really just trying to get inside Maxs head), anyways Max my boy, your mission involves two parts, first I want you to take out the celadon gym leader Erika.. If you get the chance kill her with no mercy, these gym leaders have held out for to long in my world!!!!" Beo yells as he regains his composure. "Excuse me, i've just got quite a few things on my mind at the moment so we need to hurry this up, the final part of your mission would be to go to mount silver, here you will find an old friend of mine, who is now part of the lighthing mercenaries, his name is Bruno of the elite four... don't fail me Max! Now good day" Beo says as a black hole opens up below you and sucks you in quickly. You then land in a grass field and then a little piece of paper lands ontop of your fore head.

"Route 7" the note reads.

Mission Shaun

Walking into the room, you don't even realize the other two boys are missing, and Beo likes this about you. "Listen Shaun, you have very good qualities about you, that make you almost the perfect canadiate to take over Tai's place, he is getting a little useless for me" Beo says as he looks to Shaun, and then over to a clock on the wall. "Errr I really need to be going so listen your going to be given a difficult task also, I need you to go to Fuschia city and take out that rebel gym leader scum Koga. After you succed in this you are going to then have to travel to the Sea Foam Islands, which lucky you isn't to far from Fuschia but it's still a dangerous swim there you will find one of the toughest trainers in Kanto next to myself the Elite four's strongest trainer Lance, now don't ask why I need you to take out Lance there is reasoning behind everything in life, so good bye now" Beo says as Shaun is then shrouded in darkness and thrown through the vortex also landing on an old abondanded path, which use to be the Cycling Road.

As Beo realizes that they are all on there way, he finally knew what had to be done next. It really was a shame though, all of them had there up sides and really looked to be encouraging young apprentices Beo thought to himself. "But really why would I need apprentices, everyone in the world, is just a pawn in my little game, and once they defeat the rest of the gym leaders, well then it's check mate for you Zypher and your light" Beo shouted as he brusts out into an evil laugh, then dissapering into the shadows.

"What the hell!!!!" Grecko yells as he is instantly swallowed into a shadow vortex. "WAHHHHHHH!!!" Grecko screams as he dropped hard on the surface below him. "Ow my head...what the heck was that thing?" Grecko asks himself as he looks up into the ceiling for the vortex, but it was nowhere to be seen.

"Hmm guess i'm in Mt. Moon than." Grecko says to himself as he looks around the cave. "Better get going...I got me a gym leader to capture!" Grecko says evily as he heads off through the cave.

Grecko traveled through Mt. Moon for about ten minutes when an electric pokemon attacks him. "LUC" the pokemon says as it charges at Grecko and uses a tackle attack on him. "Ahhhhh" Grecko yelled as he was sent tumbling into the wall. "Grrr what was that about you wild pokemon sack of crap!" Grecko yelled at the pokemon.

"LUC LUC!" the Luxio yelled back. "Well i have no idea what your saying so i'm just gonna capture you! Lets go Chimchar!' Grecko yelled irritatedly as he sent out his fire pokemon. "CHIIIM CHIIM!" the pokemon said as it came out of the ball.

"LUCCCC" the pokemon yelled as it sent a spark attack at Chimchar. "Chimchar send an ember attack right through that!" Grecko commanded his pokemon. "CHIII" the fire monkey yelled as it sent flames straight through the spark attack. "LUUUUUUC" the Luxio screamed as it took the attack head on.

"Ha how'd ya like that!" Grecko barked at the pokemon making fun of it. "LUUUUUC" the pokemon said as it began charging up. "Chimchar don't let it get an attack off! Use Scratch!" Grecko than ordered his pokemon. "CHIIIIIII" the pokemon yelled as it charged in to attack Luxio.

"LUCCCCCC" the pokemon blurted out as it sent a huge spark attack at Chimchar. "Chimchar watch out!" Grecko yelled out in a hurry. But it was to late the spark attack struck Chimchar. "CHIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!" the pokemon yelled as it flew backwards.

"Are you ok buddy?" Grecko asked the pokemon. "Chiii" the Chimchar said as it got up and ready to finish the attack. "Alright Chimchar go in with Scratch and finish with ember!" Grecko told his pokemon.

"CHIII" Chimchar said as it ran in and began to scratch the Luxio. "Luuuuxi!" the Luxio said as it tried to move away from the scratch attack, but it couldn't escape them. "Now finish it Chimchar!" Grecko hollered. "CHII CHIIIII" the fire monkey yelled as it sent flames blasting over Luxio, covering it.

"LUUUC Luu.." the pokemon said as it fell unconcious. "Good job Chimchar now return!" Grecko said as he returned the pokemon and than threw a pokeball at the Luxio. "Your mine!" Grecko said as the ball engulfed the Luxio.

As Grecko stood there waiting for the ball to stop moving, he realized that Beo was sending him to Cinnabar Island...home to Sly his last chance..

Standing Tall

Post 1

As you approach the the city limits for Vermillion city you see two guards looking out for unwanted visitors. You don't know how strong of a trainer he is, so you look around for another way into the city, and then you notice it, a run down building just to the outside of the city limits.

Here's where you decide what to do, you can ether challenge the guards, or you can check out the building to look for a way into the city.

If you choose to check out the building you walk in through the front door, and look around to see the inside is all worn down, and there is a musty smell.. On the floor is some toys that look like something a little girl would have played with.. Then you notice blood on the floor, what happened here you wonder.. Finally you see it, a back door past the kitchen that leads right into the city, and only a few feet away from the gym. As you approach the door you both fall to the ground, and all you realize it has been a trap. Your feet have been chained to the floor by shadows. Beo emerges from the shadows.

"Well well, it seems I have caught myself some a few light scum.. you see I figured Zypher and Sly would send people after the gym's I had no idea it would be you two though, I should have killed you the last time I had the chance, I wont let up this time" He says as his Charizad appears out of the shadows and starts lighting the whole building on fire.

"mwhahahahha, well i've got other places to be good bye, enjoy the heat" Beo says as he vanishes into the shadows with Charizard.

What to do if you choose this:

• Discuss the house, and what you think happened here.
• Then describe the fall and the whole Beo scene
• Finally find a way out of the building.
• Then make your way to the gym.

Post 2

As you enter the gym you look around to see tons of gears and electricity flowing across the floor. Finally you hear a voice calling to you, and you see Lt. Surge himself step out from the shadows.

"Haaha so you think your going to take this gym from me and the Dark Brotherhood you can try" he yells as he gets ready for the battle.

Max looked around the room, and wondered why Grecko was gone. Max glared up at Beo, who was smirking a little. Max reluctnatly sat down in the chair, knowing if he leaned against the wall it was a one way ticket to instant death.

Max looked down at his feet...he didn't like people knowing about that...exspecially how it was only like a few hours or a day ago. Max looked back up at Beo as he continued "anyways Max my boy, your mission involves two parts, first I want you to take out the celadon gym leader Erika.. Now good day, Max." Beo looked up at Max, who had wide eyes as a shroud of darkness instantly engulfed him and Max's figure disappeared.

Max was hurtling straight through what seemed like the Underworld. "I wonder if Hades is anywhere nearby." Max wondered aloud. Shadows and shrouds where moving along everywhere. Suddenly, the vortext opened and Max slammed face first in to a grass field. Max turned over on his back and looked up in to the sky, as a piece of paper slowly floated and landed on his forehead. Max picked it up in his hands and read it. It said 'Route 7'.

Max stood up and dusted his pants off. A nearby trainer was staring at Max incredulosly, as if wondering why he had suddenly appeared through the sky. Max looked at him expectantly and asked "Well?"

"Uh...uhm..." was all the kid had to say.

"Listen kid. Either say something, or beat it." Max said placing his hands on his hips. The kid shook his head and gulepd then tok a Pokeball off of his belt.

"Wanna battle?" he asked. Max raised his eyebrows and nodded...finally some action.

He took off Trapinch's Pokeball and suddenly remembered what Beo had said before Good old Max, killing your own brother now thats low... even for me Max grabbed his head as it suddenly felt dizzy, and fell to his knees. The kid clipped his Pokeball back on his belt and walked away. Max then suddenly remembered the oath him and his brothers had taken before Sware upon our parent's grave that none of us will ever join the Dark Brotherhood and then they all said at the same time I sware! Max took out his cell phone and instantly looked at the contacts for his other brothers. He couldn't find them.

Then he remembered why. He had bought a new phone since his other one got broken and foregot to get any of his brother's numbers. He closed his phone and slipped it back in to his pocket and laid in the grass on his back. Now the guilt would literally eat him alive...he had sworn never to join the Dark Brotherhood, and even upon his parent's grave! And he had broken it....

"I hate you, Beo. If you had never promised me what I wanted most...I would have never joined. And that promise was to find my missing sister...You promised that to me alone...I hate you." Max sulked. He closed his eyes and began to sob to himself.

"Grimmm."

"Kooff."

Two pokemon appeared, looking as if they were dead hungry and Shaun was their snack. One had a slimy purple body that absolutely reaked while the last was a purple pokemon that floated that released some strange gas that Shaun figured was poisoness.

"Go, Ivysaur and Gible!" he snapped. He didn't have time to deal with such pesks, but they asked for it. "Razor Leaf and Dragon Rage," he commanded.

"Ivy!" Ivysaur snarled, immediately launching sharp leaves from his closed flower. The two poison pokemon screamed in pain as the sharp leaves cut at the skin. Grimer, however, managed to regenerate its polluted body back together and didn't have the same problem as Koffing.

Gible noticed this and qiuckly aimed its first attack at Grimer. "Gii!" it snarled, firing the purple draconic fire that surrounded and burned the mud like pokemon.

"Gri! Gri!" Grimer screamed in anguish, trying to break out of the fire prison he had been put it. His only choice was to sit through it, and take the agony that came with it. In a desperate attempt, however, it tried to send out a Poison Gas attack.

"Be careful," Shaun told his pokemon, only to feel the ground shake from the explosion. Grimer, having been covered in fire, released a flammable gas. While the Dragon Rage attack may have been a dragon attack, that didn't make the fire any less real. As soon as the gas was released, and the first bit touched the fire, an explosion occurred, sending the pokemon flying through the air and landing harshly on the ground where its deformed body formed nothing but a blob of ****.

"Koo! Kok!" Koffing snarled angrily at the two pokemon for hurting his friend. "Darting faster than Shaun would have thought possible for the gas pokemon, Koffing managed to Tackle both pokemon back.

"Sa!" Ivysaur grunted, digging his clawed feet into the ground to stop his body from going back and further.

"Gible, however, was thrown onto its back by the force and let out a loud wail as it tried to get up.

"Stop crying!" Shaun snapped at his pokemon. "Get up!"

"Gi," Gible mumbled, trying to get its spike out of the ground. Ivysaur, annoyed with the sound and Koffing, snarled angrily at the other poison pokemon and released another barrage of Razor Leaf.

"Koffiiing," Koffing wailed, getting pushed back the force. Looking tearily at the two other pokemon and trainer, Koffing began to glow, giving off faint glows of light.

Shaun's eyes widened. "Run!" he snapped at his pokemon. "Its Self Destruct!"

"Saaur!" Ivysaur yelled, quickly picking up the stuck Gible with one of its vines as he and his trainer made a break for it.

"Koff...ing," Koffing finished, finally allowing its body to explode.

Shaun and his pokemon all gave a loud yelp as the force of the blast sent them all tumbling away from the battle and into some very dirty, and very dead, bushed. "Auhg," Shaun grunted, holding his head as he attempted to clean off the grime on his body. Shaking his head, he turned to glare at the unconcious pokemon. Giving a disdainful sniff, he carefully got to his feet. "Let's go," he told his pokemon.

"Sa," Ivysaur said as he set Gible down, who looked just as battered as he did, and began to walk behind his trainer.

Volume 2, Chapter 2, Part 2:

A few minutes later and Max calmed down. His face was red and he felt like he was 5 again. He sat up and looked around for the kid, to find that he was gone. Max sighed and stood up, his head still felt dizzy, but he walked anyway.

Max looked around the route for any signs of trainers, but couldn't find any. He sat down on a rock and called out all of his Pokemon. In four blinding white flashes, Trapinch, Totodile, Gastly, and Growlithe all appeared in front of him. They were all smiling and a few seconds later began playing what looked like tag.

Max watched the four Pokemon play and wished he could just do something without a care in the world like them. Suddenly, the bushes near them began to rustle. Gastly began to fade a little, Trapinch quickly dug underground, and Totodile and Growlithe got ready to attack.

Max sprang to his feet and then a young lady came walking out on to the route. She was probably about the same age as Max. She had brown hair that hung loose and went to about the middle of her back, and she had bright blue eyes. She wore a red hair clip, bright blue earings, a red T-shirt, and jeans. She had a few cuts and bruises and she acted nothing like a girlie girl...Max felt oddly attracted to her.

"Uhm...hi. Do you know the quickest way to Viridian City?" she asked.

"Uhhhhh....Sorry, but no." Max felt like his face was blushing...and hopefully it wasn't. Gastly turned back to normal color and Trapinch jumped from underground and Totodile and Growlithe both got calmer around her.

"Oh...that's ok. And look at these adorable little Pokemon!" she bent down and patted Growlithe on the head, and did the same for Trapinch and Totodile. When she came to Gastly, she took out a few pieces of Pokemon food and fed them to Gastly. She turned and smield at Max. "My name is Annebeth." she said with a grin.

"Max." Max replied.

"Hi Max...anyway so what are you doing out here? It's a little off track for the next town." she said. Max nodded and debated wether or not he wanted to tell her the truth. He decided not to.

"I'm out training...and doing a litle research." Max said.

"What kind of research?" Annebeth asked. Max gulped. He hadn't figured out what to tell her if she asked.

"Uhh...just what different kinds of Pokemon live out here." YEah...that's good. Max thought to himself.

"Oh. Well, want to battle?" she asked. Max sprang to his feet. The best part about his day so far.

"Oh yeah! How about 1 on 1?" Max asked noticing she had two full Pokeballs at her waist.

"Sure." she took one of the Pokeballs off and threw it in to the air. "Go, Spearow!" she yelled. In a blinding white flash a small bird with red wings and a dark tan head popped out. Max wondered what it was and took out his Pokedex to scan it.

Species: Spearow, the tiny bird Pokemon.
Entry: It flaps its small wings busily to fly. Using its beak, it searches in grass for prey.

Max closed his Pokedex and motioned for Trapinch to get out on the battlefield. Trapinch nodded and waddled out on to the battlefield, staring Spearow straight in the eye. "Trapinch use Bite!" Max shouted quickly.

"Spearow use Fury Attack!" Annebeth countered.

Trapinch bared his teeth as they grew sharper and sharper. He then dhased away and jumped in to the air, aiming straight at Spearow. Spearow quickly moved out of the way and furiously started banging his beak on Trapinch. "Pinch!" Trapinch yelled in surprise.

"Dig!" Max shouted. Trapinch kicked Spearow away and quickly dug himself underground and began mvoing around, making small little tunnels underground. Spearow popped his head in the new hole and looked around for Trapinch, but didn't see anything, Then, Spearow tripped and fel in to the hole, and couldn't get out.

"Bite!" Max said.

"Use Peck once you see Trapinch!" Annebeth shouted.

Trapinch stayed under the ground behind Spearow, as his fangs grew sharper and sharper. He waited for the perfect time before striking. Suddenly, he felt a vibration in the ground and sensed that Spearow was letting its guard down a little. Silently, he began digging up towards Spearow. He popepd on to the underground soil behind Spearow, and then sunk his teeth in the bird back.

"Speeeearow!" Spearow shouted in pure surprisment. He thrashed about the underground tunnels, but Trapinch would not let go. Trapinch finally released and fell through a tiny hole and landed, Spearow stopped thrashing about and looked around everywhere, only to find himself hopelesly lost underground.

"Trapinch use Bite and send him flying above ground!" Max said.

Trapinch jumped up and bit down on Spearow again. Spearow yelped in pain, but this time Trapinch jumepd in to a tunnel and started running up through it, and finally they reached above ground. Trapinch jumped and did a full front flip in mid air, and then threw Spearow in to the ground. Spearow slammed in to the hard round and coughed a few times, straining to get to his feet.

"Spearow!" it shouted trying to taunt Trapinch. Trapinch landed and yawned loudly. He shook his head and stared blankly at Spearow, as if waiting for some kind of challenge. Spearow was panting heavily and Trapinch was barely breathing hard.

"Trapinch use Bite!" Max said.

"Use Peck!" Annebeth shouted.

Trapinch dashed off at Spearow, in blinding speed. Spearow jumped off slightly and dove at Trapinch. Trapinch easily dodged it, and then sunk his teeth in to Spearow. Spearow yelled in pain and dropped his head as he was knocked out. Max smiled and returned Trapinch and the rest of his Pokemon, and walked up next to Annebeth.

"Good battle." Max said as they shook hands.

"You too. That Trapinch of yours has great potential...actually, I have this really special rare Pokemon from Hoenn. My mom gave it to me, but we don't really get along. Want it?" she asked.

"What is it?" Max asked puzzled but slightly excited.

"Here. Go, Sabeleye!" Annebeth threw a Pokeball in to the air and in a blinding white flash a gold and yellow Pokemon, with gold jewles for eyes. It had a green emerald on its stomach. Max took out his Pokedex and scanned it.

Species: Sableye, the darkness Pokemon.
Entry: It hides in the darkness of caves. Its diet of gems has transformed its eyes into gemstones.

Max noticed hough, that the Pokemon was different color then the one on the Pokedex picture. Max shrugged and smiled at Annebeth. "Sure." Max tok the Pokeball from Annebeth's hand and gave her an empty one in exchange.

"Here is my cell phone number. Call me if you ever eed any help." She took out a washable marker, grabbed his arm and wrote down a number. Max knew he was blushing now. He nodded and Annebeth walked off gleefully. Max gulped and turned around.

He looked down the route and saw that he wasn't far away from the enterance to Celadon City. Max smiled and dashed off for Celadon, wondering if there was anyway he could resign from the Dark Brotherhood without getting killed. Probably not, but Max sure hoped so, otherwise he would have to kill Erika...and Bruno. Bruno was part of the Elite Four...he was one of the best trainers in Kanto! How could he beat someone like that?

A few minutes later and Max stood outside the enterance to Celadon City, staring at the number on his arm. Annebeth...where had he heard that name before?

Old Friends...

Grecko walked over and picked up the pokeball to his newly caught Luxio. "Now that wasn't so hard was it?" Grecko asked the stubborn pokemon that was inside the pokeball. "Well I better get going to Cerulean.." Grecko said as he began to walk forward once again.

After walking for around a day Grecko got sick of seeing all the rocky formations, and the smell of the cave was starting to anger him. "This cave if fricken retarded!" Grecko said as he punched the cave wall beside him. But he didn't let that stop him...he had a mission to do and he was gonna succeed.

As Grecko stared ahead he saw what looked like bright lights so he ran forward and found the exit of Mt. Moon. "Sweet i'm finally out of here!" Grecko yelled as he ran for the exit. "WATCH OUT BELOWWWWW!" something yelled from above Grecko. Grecko looked up and noticed something falling from the ceiling. He tried to run but the thing slammed down hard on him.

"Owwwww!" Grecko yelled as he pushed the person off of him. "I'm sorry about that I really am" the kid said as he began to stand up. "It's alr....Gunder!?!?!!?" Grecko said as he stared at the person in front of him. "Holy cow!!!! GRECKO!" the kid said as he went over and began shaking his hand.

"I can't believe it's you..it's been forever since you guys moved away!" Gunder said to Grecko as they both chilled outside the entrance of Mt. Moon. "Ya I know...what are you doing in Mt. Moon?" Grecko asked the boy. "Well....the dark brotherhood killed my family, and i've been hiding out here ever since." Gunder said back with a sad look on his face.

Grecko just sat there with a shocked look on his face. "They killed your family....." Grecko said back. "Ya...but I swore my vengance on them and i've been training my pokemon since. Speaking of pokemon how about we have a one on one battle!" Gunder said to Grecko. "Sure!" Grecko said as he stood up.

"Come on out Charmeleon!" "Let's go Squirtle!" Grecko and Gunder yelled as they sent out their pokemon. "Charmeleon use Scratch!" Gunder commanded his pokemon. "Squirtle use water gun!" Grecko said to his pokemon.

The Charmeleon was charging forward with it's claws out and Squirtle instantly shot out a water gun. The water made contact with Charmeleon and sent it flying back towards Gunder. "O snap! Charmeleon use ember!" Gunder then called out to his pokemon. "Squirtle water gun again!" Grecko said to his pokemon. "Squirtlllllllle!" the pokemon yelled as it sent off another water gun.

"CHARRR" the fire pokemon yelled as it sent off an ember attack. The two attacks collided in the middle and thrusted both pokemon backwards. "Now Squirtle finish it with tackle!" Grecko commanded his Squirtle. "SQUIIIRTT" the pokemon yelled as it charged forward and smacked into Charmeleon.

"CHAARRRR" the pokemon said as it flew back into the outside cave wall and fell unconcious. "Damn...you were always better though haha!" Gunder said as he returned his pokemon.

"Ya I know but you've gotten a lot better!" Grecko said back. "So where ya headed Grec?" Gunder asked. "Umm to Cerulean City!" Grecko answered. "O...I don't know if you should go there." Gunder responded. "Why not?" Grecko asked.

"Well recently two dark brotherhood members came and destroyed the pokemon center...and stole pokemon from two of the towns best trainers. "O...well I have to go.." Grecko said as he put his head down because that was him and Max. "Is there a reason?" Gunder asked Grecko.

Grecko raised his head back up and said, " Ya I'm here to fight the Dark Brotherhood!"

After that little lie, the two boys decided to split up. But because they shared the same goal, they knew they would meet up again.

A little while later as Grecko approached the boarder of Cerulean City..."I can't believe I had to lie to my old friend...what have I become..." he said as he looked down at the struggling city.

 

[Wolfwhispers]

Shaun continued down the abandoned bycicle road. He had been told to be on the look out for not only the occassional wild pokemon, but trainer's. He had been walking for hours, and the place was completely bare. Shaun doubted he would see a normal trainer, especially with the current situation in the world. It would have been suicide for them.

Either way, Shaun still kept an eye out as he walked. Gible and Ivysaur walked by his side. Gible walked with a slight limp, but it made no sound or gave an facial expression to express its pain. It was currently sniffing around right infront of Shaun, making sure the nothing would pop out at them from right in front.

Ivysaur, on the other hand, was looking around on the side of the bycic road. The road's edges, which used to have water, was now completely dry, and covered in dead and crunchy vines. Ivysaur was busy digging around the areas, searching for who knows what. Shaun didn't care, so long as his pokemon kept its pace with him.

"Saur," Ovysaur grunted out after nearly half an hour later. Both Shaun and Gible turned to see what the pokemon had. It bounded forward and pointed towards the now visible town before thrusting one of its vines at Gible. The dragon pokemon blinked in shock as a small, and rather dry but edible, oran berry was stuffed in its face. In Ivysaur's other vine was another oran berry. "Ivy," Ivysaur said happily as it popped the berry into its mouth.

"Gi," Gible said in thanks as it too popped the berry into its mouth. Tentatively, it lowered its leg down, only to give a bark of joy as its foot no longer hurt.

"Good job," Shaun told his pokemon. "We need all the strength we can get. Are there anymore?"

"Sr," Ivysaur said negatively as it shook its head.

Shaun sighed. "Very well, let's go." With that, the three of them entered the town where he was supposed to take over.

"Sneasel Snea!"

"Pikachu" Nel was snickering at something Bolt had said, he was making exaggerated hand gestures while doing so, right after they traded mischievous glances and looked a Gage briefly before snickering again "Their being awfully chummy. I hope their not plotting to kill him" Angela thought with a exasperated sigh as she and Gage, along with Bolt and Nel, headed west towards Vermilion City, unsure if they were getting close.

"We're getting closer" Gage had piped up from his spot beside her, she had a feeling he knew that Nel and Bolt were plotting to rip him a new one, or at least make his life a living hell "I'd agree and say he'd deserve it, but no one should ever be tormented by those two, especially when they've teamed up…" she shook her head and sighed again before answering "We are? How do you know?" she asked curiously "I live there" he says nonchalantly, giving a careless shrug as though it were obvious "Oh" Gage nodded "Yeah, the city limits are just up ahead, so its not that far" he grinned wolfishly.

It wasn't long before they had reached the city limits and were halted by the guards "You can't enter kids, so back off" Angela bristled and glared at the guard "And why the hell not! He lives here" she exclaimed pointing to Gage, who coughed and gave a small wave, the Guard just shook his head "I don't really care kid, rules are rules, now get going, or we'll have to use force" the other guard grunted in agreement while pulling a ball from his belt.

Angela snorted before grabbing a Pokéball as well, she readied herself for battle but was stopped by a light tugging at her pants leg "Piika" Bolt tugged lightly at her pants, with Nel by his side… both shook their heads, not wanting Angela to start something she couldn't finish, especially when they were unsure of her battle partner's skills.

The brown haired girl scowled before backing off "Tch… he just got lucky is all" she mumbled walking away with Gage in tow "Sorry about that" she murmured with an embarrassed blush "but… that's a pretty stupid rule… I mean you live here for mew's sake!" she scowled again and placed her hands on her hips "Is there like a backdoor or something to this place" she asked jerking a thumb towards their current entrance.

Gage hummed thoughtfully while rubbing his chin "Well, there is an abandoned building not too far from here, it leads into the city, we could sneak in through there" he explained and Angela shook her head no "Nah, I'll take my chance with the guards… me an decrepit old buildings don't work out together" Gage gave her a curious glance, to which she replied with a grimace "I was 8, it involved a couple of Ghost Pokémon, the old abandoned house back home and a horrible joke gone wrong. Don't ask."

"Hehe… right" Gage said with a nervous laugh, which wavered under her fierce glare, which instantly turned into a serious look "Alright, how's your battling?" Gage blinked "Its alright, I've been doing good so far… why?" Angela nodded to herself and grabbed Gage's hand, ignoring his question and dragging him back towards the guards "Hey Thing 1 and Thing 2! We wanna battle you, if we win you have to let us inside and if we lose then you can boot us out!"

"Heh… I like the sound of those rules" the guard sneered as they both simultaneously pulled out a Pokéball "Scyther/Banette go!" The ball's snapped open and began to take shape, a green, human-sized praying mantis, known as Scyther, their feet have three toes each and they have large, blade-like forearms it also has a pair of cream-colored wings. The second Pokémon, was a black, humanoid Pokémon with red eyes. It had three spikes on its head and a long zigzag-shaped ribbon hanging down and a mouth with yellow "teeth," one of which is longer, giving its mouth the appearance of a zipper Banette also has long, three-fingered hands and short, stubby legs and a yellow, brush-like tail.

"Alright then… I'm going with Houndour!" Angela exclaimed, tossing down her Pokéball, which snapped open to reveal the dark hound, who growled threateningly at the Scyther and Banette "Okay… Rattata go!" Gage's recently caught Rattata popped from the Pokéball and hissed at Gage "Tatta!" Angela blinked before commanding Houndour "Start off with Ember on that Scyther!" Houndour nodded and fired off flaming red pellets at Scyther, who crossed his arms and took the hit "Scyth…er Scy!" the mantis like Pokémon hissed at Houndour, who stood its ground and glared at him "False Swipe Scyther!" Scyther gave a criy and used its quick speed to run up on Houndour and slashed at him, the hound winced in reply and was confused when it didn't feel the slash, only to be knocked back when Scyther turned around and batted him aside with a large scythe like appendage.

"Okay Rattata use Bite—"

The Rattata blatantly ignored Gage and turned his head away from her trainer "Tat" she refused to listened to him "Stop being difficult Rattata! Now get out there and attack!" Rattata did nothing as she watch Houndour get hit by a Knock off and Quick attack combo from Banette and Scyther. Gage had begun to get annoyed and realized the Pokémon would not be listening anytime soon.

"Grr fine… don't listen then… Rattata return! Angel I need your help!" Gage recalled the stubborn rat and called out his Golden Swablu "Woah… so pretty" Angela couldn't help but commenting "That's a mighty fine Swablu you've got there Gage" she said with a smile as the cotton bird floated down, landing on Houndour's head, who was panting slightly from the last attack "Bluuu!" it sang softly "Thanks" Gage murmured with a tiny blush, before getting back to the battle "Alright Angel, start off with Astonish!" Angel nodded and hovered in the air, opening her beak, she let out a cry, that caused Banette and Scyther to flinch.

"Right, now Houndour, use Smog and follow up with Ember, quickly! Don't give them time to recover!" Houndour nodded and fired a plume of toxic smoke, which spiraled around the Ghost and Mantis, right before he followed up with a round of Ember, which collided with the smoke and caused a huge explosion as smoke filled the area.

"Get back Angel, they could attack at anytime with this cover" Gage called out and Angela agreed "Yeah, you too Houndour, stay alert!" Houndour nodded as his ears flicked at the slightest noise "Douur" a low rumble sounded in his chest "Quick Attack Scyther and Banette use Shadow Sneak!" Angel and Houndour were caught off guard when Banette leaped from the cloud and slashed at Angel, knocking the Cotton bird off Houndour's head and he didn't have any time to react to Scyther coming and ramming into his side, causing him to go flying back as he fell to the ground near Angela's feet "Houndour!" Houndour gave a strangled whine when Scyther followed up the attack by landing harshly on his upturned side and repeatedly slashing at him with False Swipe.

When the smoke had finally cleared, Gage had saw Angel was in a somewhat similar position, but it was backwards, the Cotton bird was trying to get the marionette like Pokémon to stop attacking her, as she would peck at him non stop for every time he'd hit her "That's the way Angel! Now use Astonish!" after another round of Pecks, Angel screeched again at the Banette, who flinched and covered its ears "Good job, now help out Houndour, use Peck again!" Angela nodded and quickly honed in on Scyther, who was currently beating on her fallen comrade "Swabluuuuu!" her beak glowed white and she rammed the mantis in the stomach, with enough force to knock him off Houndour, who gave a grateful bark to the bird "Blu Bluu!"

"Alright Houndour, use Howl and then Follow up with Ember"

"And Angel use Peck"

Gage and Angela had shared a brief glance, they were gonna take out the Scyther.

Houndour nodded and stuck his nose into the air before giving a long thunderous Howl, feeling empowered by the yowl, Houndour smirked before firing off a round of fire pellets at Scyther, who cried out from the contact and when the flames finally stopped, he was caught off guard by Angel, who rammed into him again with her beak, causing the Mantis to go down with a cry and Swirly eyes.

"Good job guys, now there's only one more to go!" Angela cheered pumping a fist into the air

Angel and Houndour gave happy cries and got back into fight mode "Okay Houndour use Leer!" Houndour grunted and glared harshly at Banette, though the marionette Pokémon didn't falter in the slightest and just scowled at Houndour "Banette Bayyy"

"Knock off Banette!" Banette charged at Houndour with his hands raised, aiming to swpie at the hound "Intercept with Astonish Angel!" but Angel beat Banete to the point, flying in Banette's way and screeching once more, though this time Banette didn't flinch and he wound up batting at Angel instead "That works! Use Ember!" as soon as Angel had been batted aside, Houndour opened his mouth and fired the red flaming pellets at the Ghost, who cried out from the flames as they continued to hit him "Keep it up Houndour!"

The pellets just wouldn't stop and Banette was beginning to feel weary "Bayy" it groaned before collapsing on the ground in a faint Angela cheered and hugged Gage briefly, before running over and hugging her Houndour "You did a great Job boy! You were awesome!" Houndour yipped and licked Angela's face, before she recalled the hound back and she noticed Gage was giving Angela thanks and congratulating the Cotton bird "Great job girl, now return"

"Ha! We won, so you've gotta let us through" Angela exclaimed grinning at the grumbling guards who muttered as they recalled own fainted Pokémon and allowed the group to pass "That was some great battling Gage… That's a nice Swablu you've got there" Gage smiled at the praise "Yeah, you weren't too bad yourself… your Houndour was great"

Angela made a face "If you say so… That was the first time I actually fought with him, ever since I captured him…. He did good though" she grinned reaching down to scoop up Nel in her arms while Bolt hopped on her shoulders "So… we fight LT. Surge next right?"

Gage gave her a solmn nod "Yeah… you'd better be ready for this Angela, LT Surge is not one to be taken lightly"

Mission For Grecko

Gym Leader Battle!!

Grecko enters Cerulean City, a place that has been flooded by the river next to the town due to the darkness, after you and Max destroyed the pokemon center there. The only building left standing is the gym which is all but filled with water. You have to swim there however you choose to do this. As you enter the gym through the mirror on the third floor you see see a women in about her 30's who looks alot older then she really is. This is misty, at one point she used to be called a mermaid, because of her beauty and elegance of water pokemon. But due to the constant attacks by Dark Brotherhood members, and the loss of all her family has caused her to age alot. As you approach her she quickly reacts by calling out to you (Whatever you choose for her to say)... Then the battle begins.

Gym leader Battle Erika!

As you approach Celadon City you look around at the empty city, that once used to be full of life human life that is, because all around you are overgrown plants, vines are all over every building and coming straight out of the ground. As you make your way into the gym you look around to see that all of the overgrown plants have come from here, and you look up on the ceiling to see Erika covered in vines and staring right at you, it seems she has basically let herself grow into the vines, and then the battle gets under way.

Gym Battle Koga

As Shaun enters Fuschia City you notice there air is full of pollution and a horrible stench, you realize this must be from the many poison pokemon inhabiting the area now. You then make your way to the gym and as you walk in you hit your face off an invisible wall. You then hear an maniacal laugh coming from the foggy gym and all of a sudden a venomoth comes flying at you, looks like youll have to battle Koga while trying to find your way through the gym.

[Monochrome]

Gage grabbed the pokeball of his newly aquired pokemon smiling happily. He turned to see Angela along with two pokemon, a Sneasel and of course Bolt... Both the pokemon were snickering and occaisonally looking over to look at Gage before returning to there conversation. Seriously they better not be planning on killing me... Gage thought to himself. Gage, Angela and her pokemon slowly made their way towards the outer limits of Vermillion City.

"We're getting closer." Gage muttered as the group neared the town following a familiar path. There was a long moment of silence and Gage figured she must still be mad about the whole.... touching thing... But she seemed t o snap out of whatever trance she was in and said, " We are? How do you know?" Gage remembered that she knew just about nothing about him. " I live here.." Gage said shrugging as if it were unimportant. After another few seconds of travel Gage said, "Oh, the city limits are right up ahead, so it's not to far." He grinned thinking about how he was going to be home soon.

Soon when they were only a few meters from home Gage and his companion were stopped by some guards, Gage recognized them as some of the people who lived in the town. " You can't enter kids, so back off" One of the guards said. Angela seemed to still have left over rage from earlier events, "And why the hell not! He lives here!" Anger spread across her face. "I don't really care kid, rules are rules, now get going, or we'll have to use force" The guard said only nodding. The two pulled balls from their belts and stared at Gage and Angela intently waiting for a response.

Angela just snorted and reached for the ball at her belt. She stopped as she was about ot toss the ball and looked at her two pokemon. She must not think I'm a proficient battler Gage thought to himself. Her body became slightly limp as she relaxed her muscles and she placed the ball back in her belt and walked away, Gage followed slightly confused, he was ready for battle. "Sorry about that" she said in a rush, "but... that's a pretty stupid rule... I mean you live here for mew' sake!" She gave another frustrated stare placing her hands on herr hips. she pointed towards the guards with her thumb and asked, " Is there like a backdoor or something to this place?"

Gage thought for a minute and remembered this old creepy shack on the edge of town. He rubbed the stubble develloping at the bottem of his chin and said, "Well, there is an abandoned building not too far from here, it leads into the city, we could sneak in through there" Angela immidiatly shook her head no and said, "Nah, I'll take my chance with the guards… me an decrepit old buildings don't work out together" She sighed and said,
Gage couldn't help but muster an inquisitive stare."I was 8, it involved a couple of Ghost Pokémon, the old abandoned house back home and a horrible joke gone wrong. Don't ask."

Gage gave a nervous chuckle but when he saw the look on her face he felt bad and let it go. "Alright, how's your battling?" She quickly changed the subject obviously trying not to think about it. "Its alright, I've been doing good so far… why?" Gage asked curiously. She completely ignored him grabbing his hand and dragging him back to the guards. "Hey Thing 1 and Thing 2! We wanna battle you, if we win you have to let us inside and if we lose then you can boot us out!" She said confidently.

"Heh… I like the sound of those rules" said the more talkative of the two. They both threw their pokeballs up in the air and yelled, " Go Scyther/Banette!" Out of the red and white orbs popped a giant mantis-like green creature and a grayish ghots with a zipperlike mouth. "Alright then… I'm going with Houndour!" Angela excitedly exclaimed tossing her ball up in the air. Gage stalled for a second as he remembered the burns going up his arms at the sight of the fire hound. Gage snapped to focus. " Go Rattata!" he exclaimed, ready for battle. the small rat turned and hissed at Gage glaring him down.

Angela was quick to attack, "Start off with Ember on that Scyther!" The dogs shot flaming orbs towards Scyther and for some odd reason it just sttod there and took a hit as if it were nothing. "False swipe scyther!" the giant bug flew at houndour and tricked him as he went for slash at him but hesitated and hit him with the back of its other scythe.

Gage decided it was about time he joined in on the battle. "Rattata, use bite.." The pokemon looked off to the side completely ignoring her trainers orders. "Stop being difficult Rattata! Now get out there and attack!" He said with frustration. Houndour was getting tag teamed by the two enemy pokemon and Gage grew frustrated. "Grr fine… don't listen then… Rattata return! Angel I need your help!"

The small rat returned to its ball and Gage released the golden bird from its ball. "Woah… so pretty" Angela commented as the golden bird floated up into the sky spreading its wings. "That's a mighty fine Swablu you've got there Gage" Gage blushed, he couldn't help it. The bird gracefully landed on Houndours head as it panted in exhaustion."Thanks" Gage said accepting the comment. " Now Angel, use your astonish!" The pokemon sped towards its adversarys andlet out a screech, the two enemies flinched in fear.

"Right, now Houndour, use Smog and follow up with Ember, quickly! Don't give them time to recover!" Angela muttered, not letting up. She was quite the battler, Gage was glad she stayed on the side of good. The smog attack followed by the ember caused a giant explosion in front of them. "Get back Angel, they could attack at anytime with this cover" Gage made sure his pokemon was alert. "Yeah, you too Houndour, stay alert!" Angela said along with him.

"Quick Attack Scyther and Banette use Shadow Sneak!" the trainers screamed and the small bird was struck from houdours head. Houndour soon followed taking a heavy tumble to the ground and then was struck by another false swipe. The smoke finally cleared and both pokemon were occupied in battle. Swablu was exchanging blows with the odd puppet pokemon and Houndour was being pounded on by the green bug.

After a while Angel got a foothold and began assaulting the puppet pokemon with repeatitive pecks. "That's the way Angel! Now use Astonish!" The bird paused mid assault and release a bloodcurtling screech that forced Banette to cover its ears and close its eyes. Gages attenttion turned to Houndour who was still being beaten mercilessly. "Good job, now help out Houndour, use Peck again!" She turned and slammed her small beak into the mantis pokemons side knocking it to the ground.

"Alright Houndour, use Howl and then Follow up with Ember" Angela yelled to her now free dog-like pokemon"And Angel use Peck" Gage said following. He glanced at Angela and realized this was their chance to take out Scyther. Houdour howled to the sky and just as Scyther had managed to pull himself to his feet he was pelted with a barrage of flaming pellets scorching his scythes, as Scyther began to pull iself together Angel pecked at it once more from behind knocking it to the ground. This time he didn't get up.

"Good job guys, now there's only one more to go!" Angela said in a cheerily. Angel whistled happily and Houndour gave a happy bark. Angela began the battle again, "Okay Houndour use Leer!" The small dogs glared down the now recovered Banette who shrugged it off. "Knock off Banette!" Banette lifted its fist up the air as it was charged with darkness and as it began pulling its fist down Gage yelled, " Intercept with astonish Angel!" Angel tried once again and pulled off a loud screech bringing the Banettes attention to herself. As Banette swatted away at Angel, Angela yelled,"That works! Use Ember!".

When Banette eventually succeded in hiting its target it was blasted with a relentless barage of embers "Keep it up Houndour!" Angela said with excitement in her voice. The Banette eventually took a fall slipping to the ground and out of conciousness. Angela turned and hugged Gage embrassing him with her arms and Gages smirk turned into a stupid smile. She ran off to her dog to give him praise. Gage smiled at Angel his small bird and said, " Great job girl, you did fantastic as always!" after the pokemon rubbed her cotton appendage on him giving him the best hug she could he returned her to the pokeball.

"Ha! We won, so you've gotta let us through" Angela said to the frustrated guards teasing them. As they slipped through the gates Angela said "That was some great battling Gage… That's a nice Swablu you've got there" Gage smiled, he enjoyed the praise, it was a nice change of pace. "Yeah, you weren't too bad yourself… your Houndour was great" Gage said returning the favor.

"If you say so… That was the first time I actually fought with him, ever since I captured him…. He did good though" She said picking up her Sneasel and allowing Bolt to once again climb back up on her shoulder. "So… we fight LT. Surge next right?"

Gage remembered the middle aged man who had taught him so much about battling and had always been very friendly to Gage. He also remembered how relentlessly brutal he was in battle. He gave her a serious nod,"Yeah… you'd better be ready for this Angela, LT Surge is not one to be taken lightly" he said wondeing to himself if they'd truly be able to beat Surge.
