Hello. I am glad our game piqued your curiosity. To answer your question, both options have pros and cons. If you start with 8.5.3, you will get a feeling of the game's added mechanics like roles and will thus have an easier time on subsequent playthroughs in 9.0. However, you will only have that, gameplay. There is not much story, and the little that was implemented will be redone for various reasons. If you start with 9.0, you will get something that will most likely be closer to what the full Pathways experience will be, but you will need to wait quite a bit for it to drop.
It is an event item that essentially works like a Berserk Gene fused with a Sitrus Berry. See it as an easter egg. It's quite interesting on Pokémon with Own Tempo, but it will get consumed if the healing part of the item ever gets triggered.

On another note, the Shadow Six in Floor Fields have two different fights each with the second ones being quite difficult. They may make an interesting time killer.

you should wait until your at least level 60 or higher up if your lower like 40 to 50 all your fights would be trail and error but i would suggest aqua first because i think it is the easiest out of the three one create new teams because you cant always win withe same team
Go to your files and unzip the RAR file that you downloaded. Once unzipped, find Game.exe and open it, and the game should be ready! If you want to add a shortcut to your desktop for quicker access: right click, then "Create Shortcut" (might have to press "More Options" first)
