  • Ok, I won't be here tomorrow so I'll be posting a big update on Tuesday. It will include the new hero CharSet, a fully mapped Route 47 (maybe a mapped Venture Woods as well) and more.

    Until then, see ya!

  • Sorry about the double post there, but nobody replied in two whole days! Maybe people are losing interest.

Anyway, time for that update I promised you on Sunday.

    ------UPDATE------
I have fixed the hero's charset, his hair doesn't look flat anymore (thank you Daegon, for pointing that out) Also, I have mapped out two new areas, Route 47 and Venture Woods. Plus, I have done a new Yew sprite.

The new Yew sprite. It is just a big edit of Birch, that's all.

    A dark and eerie forest.

    The mapped Route 47.

  • Thanks for the comments. I thought the new charset would go down well.

I have decided on the first demo of this game. It will go up to and including the first Gym Leader, Megan (poison type, for the STINGBADGE) and will have CBS, bag, various CMS's and more. It should be released sometime in August.

Is it a good idea having the first gym leader a poison type? That could be annoying because of the poison thingy.

  • @SadFurret: I will be revealing pokemon and posting new silhouettes on Saturdays.

@Raccoon: I think that it was good for poison to be the first gym because, well, it's more suitable to that stage of the game than any later IMO. It is weak to quite a lot of types that aren't available early on, plus I think the poisoning will add a good challenge to it. The gym leaders are going to be hard to beat in this game.

Well one Saturday already passed and you still haven't revealed any. and why only once a week. Why not just reveal them when they are done?

  • 1. One saturday has not passed yet, it was just a saturday when this thread was started.

    2. By revealing them once a week, I keep at a steady pace meaning that they will all be revealed by the time the game is finished.

    3. Mostly explained in 2, but people can guess what it is when I give the silhouette a week earlier.

I think I know what I am doing with the sprites.

You should probably work on the dialogue a bit. It looks really cluttered.

"The world we live in is inhabited by loads and loads of different spiecies of POKEMON.
Some live in the mountains, some live on the land and some live in the sea. But most"

It should be more like this:

"The world is inhabited by many different species of POK?MON.
They live in the mountains, on land, and in the sea."

Be concise like a real intellectual would be. A respected professor wouldn't say, "loads and loads."

It still sounds like something a five-year-old would say, not an adult.

  • Thank you, DarkDoom3000. At least someone here can interact with reality...

    ------REVEAL AND SILHOUETTES------

It's Saturday today, so you know what that means! Time for last weeks silhouette to be revealed:

    cruciel4xs.jpg

    Name: CRUCIEL

Type: WATER (you guessed it DP, this is the water starter. Not a barcoach)

    Height: 7"

    Weight: 8lbs

Dex Entry: In the wild, this Pokemon is an endangered species. It lives by feeding on seaweed at the bottom of the sea until it evolves.

    And this week's silhouette:
    sil26fa.jpg

Might be a bit harder than the last one.
