He can't see his nose because his eyes are in the little holes.
He can't see his footsteps because he is floating.
He can smell the sea because of Shoal Bell and Shoal Salt in Shoal Cave(RSE)
And he can only visit the beach for a while because of low tife and high tide in Shoal Cave.
