  • Ouch, my long post was ignored xD Regarding the incldement of Isshu Pokemon, they'll be in the Safari Zone, imported from Isshu

Aww sorry. XD I tend to glaze over long posts. But yeah that would work nicely I think. :)

I hope we can go to kanto in the remakes

Why? Kanto is in every generation. I personally am sick of Kanto. It's everywhere.

  • I do hope they improve the rival. I mean, Brendan/May didn't even get to the final evolution stage of their starter. That's kinda sad. The last battle with them is in Lilycove, and unless you ditched your starter, are doing an NFE run, or just hate training it that much, you're more than likely to have your starter at its last stage.
They should make Wally the only main rival.

Well, I missed out on my chance to play RSE back when they were released for two reasons:

    1.) I didn't have a GBA ( anymore )
2.) By the time Emerald came out, I did have a Phat DS ( and now I have a DSi, soooo..... ), but I was unwilling to spend $30+ on a game for a platform I considered to be outdated.

Whether or not the GBA was indeed out-of-date at that time is up for debate, but, yeah.... I never played RSE, despite how badly I wanted to. The carts looked like GEMS! How cool was that? Also, Phoebe. My sweet, sweet moe Pacific Islander Ghost-type specialist....

I'd DEFINITELY buy the remakes, assuming they'd ever be made. I just don't see them being made.... until after the fifth gen or so. We just received GS remakes, which came about six years after the first set of remakes for RGB. Assuming [Grey] comes out in a year or two, I don't think GF is going to squeeze out another pair of remakes in less than 1.5 years of HGSS. I think we'll see RSE remakes after the enhanced version of BW, using the BW engine as a base.

Also, it's safe to assume that GF isn't working, or has just started working on, Gen VI, which will undoubtedly debut in the 3DS, even if by that time the 3DS is on it's way out to make room for a 3DS Lite or whatever. Why? Because the specs for 3DS successor do not even exist yet. Anything GF is working right now is being made with the 3DS in mind ( sans Pokemon Grey, mayhaps ). I'm thinking they might churn out a remake for RSE to hold us over while they work and re-work the engine for this new game.

So, following the time-line I've set, we might see remakes in 2013/14.... Which would only be 3-4 years after the HGSS remakes... but, whatever, by that time it would have been 10 years since RSE were released. Same as the time-line for GS and HGSS.

I'm not looking for patterns here, just hints as to what GF finds "acceptable," so to speak. I'd expect anywhere from 6-10 years to pass before a new set of remakes to appear, but a 10-year anniversary or a particular era being two-gens old would also qualify it for remake material.

    /ramble

I think "RubySun" and "SapphireMoon" would make great names for remakes~!

Pokémon Ruby was released in 2002 in Japan.

It can go either way as to what gets released next. Either the 3rd game in the BW series, which would probably be out two years after BW (2012) or a remake of RS, released around ten years after the games, much like HGSS (again, 2012).

It's also a fair bet to say that development on BW begun at the very least during the development of Platinum, as the whole lot of their team doesn't need to be tasked with creating either an enhancement or a remake.

  • The only question here is when are they going to be released :/
Everything else has already been remade, Kanto (twice, one in Fire Red and the other on HG/SS, because you have access to all Kanto Legends and etc). Johto has been remade. All these games went from their respective "graphic generations" (I, II and III) into generation IV. So, RSE is the only that misses this remake ;D . The only question here is time.

  • If they go by ten year anniversary, then we can expect a 2012 / 2013 release in Japan and the US respectively. What The 100 Mega Shock mention pretty much covered my own thoughts. Whenever it's to be released though, my bet is that it'll probably be for the 3DS, if that wasn't already said before.

  • If it's made purely for the 3DS then probably not, but if it's DS compatible then yes. The pattern of how pokemon has been releasing their games says it will be made within less than three years and made for the DS

  • I would love a remake though them making it for the 3Ds only is highly unlikely in my opinion as it would damper the sales as while I would pay a good 50$ for a R/S/E remake I'm not going to get a 3Ds just to play it. I see them making it for both Normal and 3Ds give the 3d one more graphical design and such.

well i think emerald will be remade, wanna know why? lol take a look at this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT3DUpjYD6E

there are 9 videos in this series, its woth watching them ALL

Just reading the description to the first one is full of hilariously bad claims.

One of them is because the DSi is going to rule and will have more people buying it.

    Hindsight maybe, but,

Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, & Emerald Remake Speculation Thread

-Regirock, Regice, Registeel are in Pokémon Platinum, at a lower Level than in Ru/Sa/Em.
-Their Ruins can only be unlocked with a Special Pokemon - Regigigas from a Pokémon Event.

    Other reasons:
    -Kyogre in HeartGold
    -Groudon in SoulSilver
-Rayquaza in both HeartGold and SoulSilver, but can only be encountered if the player has both Johto Kyogre and Groudon in his/her Pokémon Party.

What has this got to do with anything?

Hell, those should be reasoning for there to not be a RS remake, because Game Freak made a large effort to remove the need to own any of the GBA games in order to catch special Pokémon.

The tiles in the Pokémon Centers formed a Poké Ball pattern with Gold and Silver color, this is changed in HG/SS to a Black Background with Green Poké Ball Pattern, just like when you encounter Rayquaza in HG/SS...

...One other thing: Arceus! Check it's color. Arceus is the Promotional Pokemon and hint for Gold/Silver remakes: Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSIlver. Arceus' Arch is of Gold color, it's body color is White which could also represent Platinum, but also Grayish, which reflects to Silver. But now take a look on its arch, it has like Emerald gemstones on it. So, shortly, since Arceus is the God Pokemon, it could have a link too in the Hoenn region.

I don't even know what to say.

I'm not saying there isn't going to be a remake of Ruby and Sapphire (Because it's pretty damn likely there will be) but for none of the reasons here, which are just grasping at microscopic straws for anything that could called evidence.

  • After remaking R/S/E, there won't be any more to remake on the DS, right? Remaking Diamond/Pearl and B/W would be pretty redundant.

I wonder what they'd come out with after a R/S/E remake? Maybe a DS coleseum game?

Why would Game Freak still be developing games for the DS? It's over 6 years old now, and the 3DS' release is in less than two months.

There's the possibility that the HGSS team has been working on something for release in 2011, but they might just have easily decided to rather concentrate on 3DS development for a year and come out with something in 2012. Remembering Ruby and Sapphire, they (in Japan) came out in November 2002 after the Game Boy Advance was released in March 2001.

  • Well, remakes Generally come when they have the opportunity to be better than they were on they're original console. Since they have the Graphical overhaul from 4th to 5th Gen, DPP could theoretically be remade on the 3DS, where the Graphics could be even better!
