the growlithe doesnt evolve yet as the evolution isnt designed, but it'd be by thunder stone or some sort of stone when it does.

updates keep coming out slowly, but the next one shouldnt be too far away.
 
Can I share my thoughts about Johto in this game?

I'm in ecruteak city, I'm sort of enjoying this game this far but this region just doesn't feel like Johto to me.

I fully understand that places change with time and that 15 years leaves a lot of room for change.

For example, why are Falkner, Morty, and professor Elm just... gone? Like, did all the people from HGSS get in a giant car crash and die or something? Is there an in-game explanation for their absence that I missed?

There's also like 12-17 something OC's so far who I don't care about. It's just a lot of new people and faces some of which share names with pre-existing characters like Barry and Kris.

The layout of every route and city is also completely different. Again I realize that things naturally change over time but I just wonder if you're going to change basically everything about a region why not just...make a new one instead?

Regardless I hope I am not coming off as rude or anything at all. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts.

I have a few other gripes too but I will save them for later.

Also after the Cynthia and team galactic event at Copper Passage, I have two following Pokemon now and can't interact with them help would be appreciated.

And finally sorry for the long post but when I try to use the Pokedex my game crashes and I get this Error:


Script 'PScreen_PokedexMain' line 339: NameError occurred.

undefined local variable or method 'form' for

I downloaded this two days ago not updating from an older version. I did play it a long time ago but back then there were 6 starters.

Edit: I beat the gym and did the zigzagoon event which felt pointless regardless I can't find the kimono house that I need to enter to go into the gym leader's house.

Also, I now have three following pokemon after the zigagoon event_

Yes, while not fully explored yet, and was in the old intro but that felt too much of an exposition route. Elm retired, this is only one i've yet to find a reason for 100%. the gymleaders however, all the gymleaders of johto/kanto/sinnoh etc. we're replaced after ethan became champion slowly, since the change of how gyms work and new requirements (aka replaced).

Yea i mean every main character (minus a few returning faces) is an OC, because it wouldnt make sense to not have any imo. and yea kris isnt anm existing character in the timeline (as shes with gen 2 ethan while this is gen 4 ethan and lyra) but i can see why you wouldn't care much, their not that explored yet.

Fully get this, and some of it is change over time and some complete revamps, as in the route size etc. and some changes since gen 4 (e.g. with ancient alph city)
and i would've done a new region, and we technically will (with two side regions one being seveii and a new one completely. but i wanted to build on existing lore,
or moreso have a more intertwined story, just felt i couldn't have old characters as much in a fully custom region without it being seen as cameos or appealing to fans,
plus i do enjoy johto, moreso the characters and layout less than the games (over time that is). but i totally get you're point here.

Regardless I hope I am not coming off as rude or anything at all. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts.

I have a few other gripes too but I will save them for later.
Feel free to share them whenever I'm happy to hear them, it does help, as long as its not "this game sucks so bad".
Thanks for taking you're time to show your interest and opinion on the game, we don't hear it much at the gripes/negatives (while not overally negative points from you) much.

and some points i didnt go over, its slightly more than 15 years, while that doesnt change anything, i think its like 18 (its upto the same point in the timeline as SuMo.)
but basically johto was upscaled in the game so the size isn't technically bigger by much.
And i totally get it not feeling like johto, it looks completely different just with similiar names and layouts, kinda a gripe myself there, tbf ecruteak is still incomplete.
there is a small reason its so different as sort of a loss of culture/washed out over time. now i'm not gonna say "it's wrong on purpose". the culture was meant to be
more associated to the league and trainers than the overall look of the region.

The zigzag event was a special in-game event from the older version, so its not meant to be that important, excluding the ending.

Hmm okay, glad to see you're back after awhile definetly a different experience now, and I'm investigating the follower issues myself.
the pokedex one will be fixed next update, but to fix the followers, blacking out should work, wasnt aware these two could get it so ty for
letting me know. and the kimono house is in cypress forest, can't 100% remember if you were told that though.

again thanks for your opinion it means alot.

It's clear that you guys put a ton of time and effort into it, from the tiles to battle backgrounds. Everything looks great!

My main gripe is that there should be some way to tell if the opponent is about to send in say a normal pokemon or its omega version. Like maybe have "Youngster Joey is about to send in Rattata (Omega)" or something like that to differentiate.

The next thing isn't really a gripe but more of a suggestion. Can you include a document of all the Pokemon changes? For both normal pokemon and the omegas? Something that will tell me "Hey bro Noctowl is part Psychic here so you should not use that cool-looking Omega Venipede against it." Yes, I know that the game has the types on display during trainer battles but this is more for when you are about to switch. Maybe also list BST changes too? Maybe use the 0.3 changes document to show all edits to normal pokemon so that way they won't come completely out of nowhere.

The routes do feel quite long but I have gotten used to it.

Finally sorry for the two large posts. The game also seems to crash whenever you select a field move.

Edit: OH! I meant to ask this earlier I found a shiny Totodile on western route 29 and was wondering what determines the overworld encounters and how can I find a 2nd one since I accidentally ran from it.

Edit 2: I kinda hate to mention this but you can get infinite money from the Pay Palkia.

Also, some overworld sprites don't match the pokemon. For example, there is a Female Picnicer on route 32 who has a Blacepalion sprite next to her.

Hopefully, my final gripe is can you not show the battles for the NPCs? It feels like a gigantic waste of time. There's one in the forest that takes a really long time.

Edit 3: Losing to either a trainer or a wild pokemon does not remove either following pokemon.

Edit 4: Also quick question what is my specialty suppose to be under Hawthorn pokemon battle or pokemon variants?

Edit 5: Is the Typlosion at the starter selection farm meant to be Ethan's? Also, will we find him/ what happened to him in Johto or will we find out somewhere else?

Edit 6: the encounter shower does not seem to work for route 36, the forest southern route 32, copper passage, or union cave. Also, the Disguise and ethereal ability are too good imo.

This is already in the game, last i checked it works for 90% of them, it should say "joey is about to send in omega zigzagoon" or smth.

Yea, update posts show the ones added in that update, but not all, a wiki is being worked on but its mostly just me (the lead) on it, so I can't focus on it in update times/isn't high priority.

yea fully get that, basically if you take a gen 4 HGSS maps size, double it thats the full route size, then usually we take the longest size and half it, thus splitting it into two, or three in route 32's case.

Huh, give me an error report (if you wanna save time feel free to add them to this (your) post. this was just added in the last update so.

overworld encounters have their own encounter pool, seperate to in the grass, however there are half as many. but weather and dark spot pokemon can appear in them expanding that this, outbreaks too.
but if you found a totodile somewhere its probably there.

yes this is known, at the start of v0.3 omegas and gen 7 were swapped/reworked to be less... messy, so its meant to be where blacephalon actually is.
they will be fixed once i rework the encounters there.

this is done for story reasons moreso, but i will add a option for that in the future, sorta like those that want to not use battle animations.

hmm okay, i've fixed the issue with the copper passage but i can't see how you got one from the zigzag event still.
i'll add a npc to remove them/fix it for you and others in the next update. the blackout bug might only remove one then add it again.

err variants, battles are Alberts moreso, its kind of a gross term of all the other assistants, need a better name for it, but its mostly the focus on omegas, aka variantion.

cannot confirm or deny with typhlosion :)
yes made it clears he's missing not dead/out the picture, even if people think he is.
it will unravel a bit later in johto with red returning from alola, but will mostly happen in kanto.
and yes what happens will be explained either in johto/kanto.

I'm not sure how to post a gif but what the exploited intells is that the pay palkis does not remove your steps when you trade poke miles for money, thus allowing infinite money.

Edit: Also how mutch longer is beta 0.3?

but updates are coming out here and again.

and i think morelull appears there, i know it does in copper passage however.

and after second gym in current version theres the gym mission and thats it story wise.

Okay i'll fix that.

I should mention that I lost to the first group of wild pokemon in the Zigzagoon event. Might that have something to do with it?

By the way, there is a pink heart on my typlosion. What does that mean?

jeez a typhlosion already? :)
its just telling you its your starter. its going to be changed but it just a cosmetic thing to show you its your partner (Also partners have seperate shinies)
