    Da-da-da-DA! Introducing Pokemon Silver Extended 1.0, My first hack of, well, ANY game. Well technically, first PUBLISHED hack anyway.
    This is the breakdown of it: After a year of tweakihg my Pokemon Silver ROM, along with various other ROMs, I feel I'm getting enough hang of it to creat a Hack. Why'd I choose Silver? Because I can. Why is it called Pokemon Silver EX-Tended? This is actually from a few things. Pokemon Silver is the Hack's origin, EX-Tended is for three reasons.
    1.) It's going to have all pokemon available in Silver AND Gold. (NOTE: 3rd and 4th Generation Pokemon will be created and added later, as soon as I can get the right programs.)
    2.) I am EXTENDING the ROM after some more game tweaking, to allow for new areas, which will include Hoenn, The Orange Islands, Secret Areas in the Maps already in the game, and an ENTIRELY new area I'm working on now. (Once again, this is only v 1.0, so a few more programs will be needed to keep goign on it, which I'm working on gettign right now.)
    And 3.) It sounds cool, and I can make it any name I want, so there >:p.
    What is so different about this hack from the others? It's an entirely EVOLVING hack. Which means as time passes I'll be adding newer Versions to the game as I go based on a few things. (See how can I help section later on.)
    O.K. Amaze me, whatcha got now? A LOT. All pokemon are available, but some are still hard to get. Pokemon you can only catch once, you can STILL only catch once except Sudowoodo. Sudowoodo can be found in a few areas of the game, so you don't get flustered when you accidentally kill it. Routes and Towns have been Re-Vamped to include a Path extending the entire game. If you don't want to battle at all right now, You don't have to! (NOTE: All major events, such as your first battle, STILL happen to prevent confusion and glitching) The starters aren't so amazing because you can catch everyoen, in every form, later on in the game. You'll be spending your time lookign for those more wanted but harder to find then usual ones. Route 46 is a DANGEROUS place. This area is only for master level trainers, as all the pokemon here are level 75. o.0. Idid this because I feel Silver is missing a certain luster without a battle tower. What's that? You want a hint? O.K. Wild pokemon in this route can be caught ~_0
    What are you PLANNING to do? Simple version, All I can. Longer version, I will be making it so all the pokemon you catch only once, can be caught again at other times. As soon as I figure out whats-what anyway. New versions means Pokemon in areas they weren't in before. For example, I have backed up V1.0 which you can catch say 'geodude in route 26, and in V2.0 maybe it'll be in route 36 or something.
    Awards to those who have completed the game. If you send me a few screenshots of your trainer ID, with all badges, your party level 100 (thats right, 6 lv. 100 pokemon in your party) and a few other things that makes you feel 'qualified, I will PM you with the link for Pokemon Silver EX-Tended Mastered, (Which is in development as you read this) where you start the game off, and the pokemon are a little 'Harder' in the routes and trainer's belts... ... or you can cheat, and bring your save-game to this one if you really feel like having your party face-off against some higher level pokemon. w/e works. EVENTS! Events galore! I'm goign to be making events not found in Pokemon Silver, (hush hush, you don't need to know yet.)
    And finally:
    What can I do to help?
    Answer: Virtually anything. Comments, both positive AND negative are accepted. Criticizm is the key to advancing. Help me with finding some programs. What I'm lookign for is a HEX Editor and the Offsets of Pokemon Silver. A ROM extender, so I can add More maps and Pokemon.A program that Changes Text in Pokemon Silver, A program that allows for making maps and new pokemon, And a program that'll alow linking between two Game-boy advances through a server. (This will require some SERIOUS hacking, as I'm not sure how a ROM would handle having two Hiro Sprites running around on the map. Though, I suppose if I look into the Pokecenter conection room.... hm...) And most important : BUG/GLITCH reports. If you find one, don't rub it off. Other People Play this game.
    If you want to help me with this, I may be recruiting in the future, depending on how the game goes. As well, any recomendationsto OTHER pokemon Silver programs, other than GoldMap which i'm using, would be much apreciated.

    This hack looks Amazing, Where do you get materials to make towns/routes, and when is there gonna be a beta

    Though, the pokemart/center comob building looks slightly weird because it just...stops...half way up.
     
    Thank you all for your support. There is no Beta. V 1.0 is done. All I have left to do to put it up is figure out a free site that'll let me host it. Hopefully, one of you would know. As well, I still need some programs to actually MAKE towns. I could change some of the Beta Maps to be a town or two, but that'd be pointless. As well, Mastered version is still in the process.
    This is what I need to start on Version 2.0:
    -Free Hosting Site
    -Extender
    -Silver's Hexidecimal Offsets
    -Hexidecimal Editing Program
    -Text Editor
    -Another Silver editing Program. Goldmap has its uses, but still very Bugged.
    If any of you know where I can find these, your help is appreciated.

    Differences between EX-Tended and EX-Tended Mastered:
    -No more trainers. All training will have to be done in the grass. This does not include your rival, the gyms, event-based battles, and the Elite 4.
    -Routes almost entirely grass. This is more for annoyance then anything else. I feel anyone who has strong patience is truly able to call themselves a master.
    -Except for The pokecenter, pokemart, and anyplace people are REQUIRED to appear at, there is no one except YOU. Silver population: Circa 500. EX-Tended Population, Circa 100 o.0
    -Except for what is sold in marts, no more helpful items. No berry trees, no Charcoal from the Cut Master, no random 'Elixer' Lying in the middle of the route when you need it most.

    Staffing is probably not going to happen. I'd like to hire people to work on it with me, as it is time-consuming. However, the man with the idea writes the book alone. As well, I don't know how to make IPS :p
     
    I say... go with Freewebs. Also, great hack! Good to see that someone besides Jeremy hacking a G/S/C game!
     
    Well that lasted long. Thnx for the idea about freewebs, but I am not waiting 7 days to upload my files. Is there any other free web hosting out there? Not doing yahoo, and not doing Tripod. I've had, um..., 'Experiences' with them.
     
    Looks good man I just dont like the mastered idea. I believe it sounds stupid and pointless... But hey who am I to judge....
     
    You are right. It is kinda coming out stupid as it is. I was thinking about going back and revamping it. what I'm going to do instead is Start with my PSExT version, and instead jack-up the opponent's pokemon's streangth, maybe mix up some new pokemon in Gym Leader's rankings, and increase pokemon encounter rates on routes. Maybe decrease to frustrate you. Idk, Idea still being over-looked.

    Its a modified from a rom because i dont yet understand how to make an IPS yet. Thats why i offered to host in on my own site. Technically its not Pokemon's Copyright anymore, except the pokemon with in them (duh, but if that was a problem this site wouldnt exsist) but just to be safe, i wouldnt link it on here. I will if someone can teach me about IPS. I can PATCH IPS', but then again who cant.

    NOTE: Glitch in game. In Azalea town, for reasons i don't know and can't seem to fix, the Azalea Gym warp is not working. It teleports you to a blank screen, and the music in the intro plays. As to why this is, its beyond me, as i dont tinker with warps. i will try to set bugsy outside of the gym in Azalea town, and see if thatlll work. untill then, keep looking for the update.
     
    u must have messed up the warp #s. check it again maybe u accidently switched the numbers? This happened to me.
     
    No it has nothign to do with the warp. Something is wrong with the hack itself. I know this because i opened the origional silver (which i WAS able to enter the gym on this one), saved the map of Azalea, opened EX-Tended, loaded the Map i saved over the map on the Hack, then played the hack, and again, it did not work. So if your willing to give me the time, i will start it with a blank silver rom, and try again.
    For those who ARE at azalea town, i will be renaming this hack's retry to Pokemon Silver EX-Tended v1_1, so change your sgm files to be named that, and you will eb able to continue the quest after D/L the new hack. I will post when it has been updated.
     
    Good news Bad news time:
    Good news: There is no good news, only bad news.
    Bad news: Internet disconected, Computer wiped, Silver EX-Tended on a few-day pause.
    Right now I'm sitting on a computer at the city library (which I must say, is a pretty crappy computer with a T1 connection, so basically a computer with good stuff thats too crappy to handle it.) My internet was disconnected because I'm moving in a few days, and as well, my firewall wasn't the best at keeping crud out of my hard drive, which unfortunatly had to be wiped. 172 Viruses, Trojans, Adware, Malware and 2 worms and keyloggers. Each. Never trust Norton.
    Slight ray of hope news: EX-Tended is NOT discontinued, only temporarily suspended. What I'm going to do is Re-d/l EX-Tended from the link in my signature, and work on it again when we have my internet back up, which will be a few days. Just reporting that it might take some time. Don't lose hope. EX-Tended is my baby. I refuse to let it die.
