On the other topic I'm also eager to learn about Red's past, unfortunately unless they make yet another RGB remake I don't see this being explained any time soon (I really wonder if his mom will have the same character design as the one in the animé).

Perhaps it's because I haven't read too much into the GSC saga, what's the deal with Falkner's father? I mean, what did he do? Do we actually see him or something? Stupid question, but I don't think I read into that part or something.

Yeah, we really haven't seen much of our Red boy's past. People in the past have asked questions concerning that (I mean, in a forum, not asking Kusaka themselves), and some people have answered that his parents weren't important to the plot. That's...rather silly, if you ask me. It doesn't really matter if his parents don't greatly affect the plot, we still need to see them. And another point, in the Y saga, when Red was gone for quite some time, there wasn't a word about his parents. If my son was gone for months, I'd be very concerned and would demand that someone should try to find him. If not, I'd look for him myself. And that cute little kid with the big hat can help, too.
And if my son turned into a stone statue, I'd spazz out and track down whoever did this to my kid. youwouldonlyrecognizesirdbyherdentalrecordsbythetimei'mdonewithher
So, yeah, there's really no excuse that Red's parents (or guardian) haven't appeared by now. Unless Red's not human or something.

Perhaps single parent families are quite common in the Pokemon world. I'm happy that Ruby has a nuclear family though.

Yahoo! Heatran~, this makes me more interested in what's going to happen in Stark mountain. I'm also wondering if the fourth spring is yet to be discovered because the turnback cave is where the distortion world's portal is located unless another one exists somewhere. Also had a feeling that Dia and Pearl were in the distortion world (ready to kick Cyrus' butt). Also Dia disguising himself as a Galactic grunt now doesnt that remind you of a certain other red eye hero? Also can't wait to see Cythia v. Cyrus it could end in a draw but who knows it's anyone's game at this point.

I'm happy that Ruby has a nuclear family though.

Hate to say this but he doesn't have a nuclear family. A nuclear family consists of a husband wife son and daughter. He does have two parents but no sister so it's a no go. Still it is odd how he's one of the only characters to have both a mom and dad (other than Blue but they didn't have much of a role so yeah).
