Would you watch a Pokemon spinoff show with Misty?
I know they had Pokemon Chronicles, but they never really focused on her enough.
I think that if they would have focused a show on her, they would have been much more successful.
    What do you guys think?
Would you think a show like this would succeed?
Would you watch a show like this?
What other characters could they bring in?
What storylines could they come up with?

If that was some kind of innuendo, first off...ewwwww
And if it wasn't what do you mean??

If they did it NOW, I don't think they'd have many viewers anyway. The kids who watch Pokemon now probably don't even know who Misty was. Unless of course they would watch it because it's a Pokemon show, but I don't think many of the viewers who started watching during the May/Dawn seasons would be very interested in seeing a show about Misty.

It probably would have been different if they'd started one right after she left the show.

I'd love to see a Pokemon spinoff with any other character than Ash, whether it be Misty or May or anyone else. I also think the writers should make some more Chronicles episodes and maybe more shorts similar to the Pikachu Shorts.

I prefer to not think about that kind of spin-off ;D
    I don't understand. Why?

They should just bring her back to the show. She deserve on it, more than Brock. Who is only cooking.

The kids who watch Pokemon now probably don't even know who Misty was.
They may know. Japanese kids have Pokemon Sunday where they can watch older episodes. Which includes sometimes Misty of course.

Not even cooking, more like just jumping on every woman he sees like Charlie Harper or Glenn Quagmire. Although I agree, Misty really needs to come back to the show. She at least deserves it more than Brock (I'm not even talking about screentime comparisons as much as in-universe reasons. I mean, I probably mentioned this multiple times before, but Pewter Gym is currently in far worse condition than Cerulean Gym ever since Lola came around. Heck, it was probably in far worse conditions when they immediately left to take care of things. If anyone deserved to leave to ensure the survival of his/her gym, it should have been Brock.)

Not to mention that they also most likely have boxed sets being released in Japan anyways, and if they can get away with referencing even very obscure characters in the show (like Lola, or Jessibelle, for examples.), whose to say that kids won't have heard about Misty. They're going to hear of her, anyways, unless Japanese kids really do have short memory spans.

Besides which, if we go by the logic of how Japanese kids won't know of her, they might as well replace Ash, seeing how most of the little kids who watch the series might not remember Ash, anyways.

I'd probably watch it, but I doubt I'd enjoy it. Honestly, I find that even Chronicles itself is just a contrived way to give oft-forgotten characters screen time and it's in theory the anime without Ash, really. :|

But like I said, I'd still watch it. Misty is a character I really like, soooo...yeah. =D

I don't think it'd be any different from the main show. :/

All the characters are incredibly generic, the only one actually standing out for me being Brock because of his Nurse Joy thing.

I would like to see her again (not permament) but i wouldnt go too far as in a show O.O

    Not really no.

Anyway, side series with a new character would be better. Established characters are already established anyway.

Well, why won't they release them? It's not like Pokemon Sunday can air all the past episodes, so they'll need something that kids can see over and over again, especially in the event if something happens to Pokemon Sunday that results in it not being able to air that week.

Whatever the case, they do have technical DVD boxed sets, as evidenced here: https://dogasu.bulbagarden.net/dvd/region02_tv.html

    Those aren't boxed anything really.

They should just bring her back to the show.

I recently heard that Misty's Japanese actress MAY come back to the DP episodes. Whether thats old news or not, i'm not sure. But I agree that she should come back.

Personally, i'd LOVE to see new Pokemon Chronicles episodes focusing on May, Drew, and Harley in Johto. I'm dying to know how they're doing! :)

No. I would not watch a show about Misty.

Misty is a completely uninteresting character. Her ambitions are vague. Her personality is non-existent. She doesn't have any interesting character quirks. She isn't fun to watch at all.

What is it that people like about Misty - other than the fact that she was part of their childhood?

Yes. She's nice, beautiful, funny. She has interesting character. Good trainer. And other things.

Is Ash really that much different? Ash's ambition (becoming a Pokemon Master) is in itself vague, seeing how we have yet to get a true definition and true processing outline of how to become one (by "true" I of course mean that a completely accurate AND non-contradictory version.). If you hate that, then this show certainly isn't for you, so why bother watching it?

As Semidos said, she had a nice personality, is funny, has a bit better defined goal (We at least know that she needs to be a master of all water types.). Is a good trainer (although her becoming a Gym Leader will most likely make her into JJM.). She also is unique in the sense that unlike May or Dawn, she neither was into something like Contests, and also wasn't a Love Hina clone (at least in the Anime)
