Pokemon: Storms on the Desert [PG 13]

Fiona sighed, this hidden base was hidden well. So far she had found nothing out off place. Nothing odd, just sand and rocks. Hopefully Thom and Gramon have found some useful information she thought as she continued searching like Mika she knew they had to be back before day light so the guards wouldn't catch them.

{OOC: Whatever happens was either discussed between myself and The Noob Hacker or was chosen to happen by me. Oh, and The Noob, I think I made it a little easier if you'll look closely.}

He knew it was almost time. He had learned to watch the sun, and knew it was almost time to leave. Mellock also knew that there was an inn in Hranc, the Shrouded Swalot, that many Pokemon stayed at every day. So he was gonna hit the place. He knew of some rich-ish people that would be staying there, and they would be the only ones that he would take from. He had been there a week earlier. Well, it was more like he had snuck into the place and knew of some people who would be staying for a while who must've had something they didn't need.

So, with the scheduals he had developed from numerous stakeouts a day, he would hopefully get a couple of things needed. He got up from the floor of his cave, the one that he discovered and the one that hopefully only he knew about, and left. He camoflauged the entrance, and ran into the alleys. The cave was inside city lines, but was hidden in a shadowed corner behind some large buildings. He sped past random Pokemon, some staring, some gasping, some not paying attention. They'd seen the posters, most of them. He didn't care. He wasn't gonna stay in the little cave for long.

Going as fast as his little legs would carry him, Mellock was in a hurry. He might not have been accurate. Well, it was the first hit of the city, and he was nervous. That's all there was to it. And the inn was getting closer by the second. And closer. And closer. He could see it now, and maybe it was a bad idea. Everyone in this city knew about the place, as far as he knew. So, part of him was thinking something along the lines of, This is a bad idea. I cannot do this, I have never hit a place this big. But the other, more optomistic part was saying, Well, I think that about every place I hit. It's no different.

It got closer and closer. He wasn't getting any less nervous. But there was nothing he could do. If he wanted to live for the next week, he had to do this. So, he was finally there. He slowly opened the nearest window, and climbed in. He snuck around to the stairs, and ran up. He made his way to the first room. Footsteps, and he hid in a closet. Out of the closet, into the hallway. From the hallway to the room. He clambered onto his little knees and bent over. He reached under the bed and found what he was looking for. A jewelery box. Opened it, a necklace and ring made of gold studded with emeralds and diamonds. "Dang, I don't know anyone who could afford this if their salary was doubled," he said to himself. He reached up to his neck to put his findings in his scarf, but it wasn't there. "Ach! It must've gotten stuck in the door's shuddering!" He got up, kicked the box back under the bed, and out of the room to the closet he went. He got his scarf, and heard footsteps.

In the room.

He slowly tiptoed past, then made a run for the nearest window. What he heard next he had only heard once before. It was the peircing scream of a Whismur.

And it was headed towards him.

The sound of the Whismur yelling caused Althalos to flinch. He covered his ears and turned back to see that the sound was coming from the Shrouded Swalot. He was already a few blocks away, but wasn't surprised that he could hear it. He started walking back to the inn at a leisurely pace, knowing that the screams of a Whismer would probably temporarily handicap who ever it was screaming at. Even if he pokemon the pokemon did get away, Althalos was pretty sure that it would just mean another assassination contract, or at worst, a seek and retrieve, if anything had been stolen.

Montolio Dremugar

A agile Accelgor leaped from his hiding place in the shadows to the Cubchoo halfway out the window. The new arrival had been watching the thief for quite awhile. Although he planned to reveal himself in a different way to the Cubchoo, he couldn't let a fellow thief get caught. Truly he was compelled to save the thief for some reason.

"No time for explanations, come with me!" he demanded as he appeared in front of the compromised thief, which took less than a second.

"I've never been caught. Isn't there some rule that lets me go the first time I've been caught?" He was afraid of what would happen next. "Please, this is only so that I could eat! I have literally nothing. I lost everything seven years ago, and then my brother four years ago. I just...I'm sorry..." He stopped. There was clearly no getting out. He was caught. Well, at least he couldn't die in prison.

Montolio sighed as the Cubchoo tried to explain itself. Obviously, it did not know his intent. The door was flung open. Suddenly, the Accelgor grabbed the Cubchoo and put it on his back, racing out the window.

The blinding speeds were regular for Montolio, and the two had no way of being caught. He took them to an alleyway. There he put the Cubchoo down.

"Now just what in the world did you think you were doing?" the Accelgor scolded.

"Uh...I was...um...stealing from that...well, I dunno who I was stealing from. But I was taking a necklace and a ring." He held them up. "You can have them, or give them back to the victim. But I don't want to go to jail." Then he saw the look on the Pokemon's face; not harsh and authorative, but more like an annoyed colluege. "Wait...you're not for the government...who are you? What do you want with me?" He curled up his fists. Boy, was he glad his dad had an icy fist(Ice Punch in our terms).

Montolio smiled as the Cubchoo clenched his fist, but it was hidden by his veil.

"Please child, let us not fight here." he said.

"After all I did save you." he continued.

He did a slight bow. It was both respectful, but also teasing in a way.

"Montolio Dremugar, at your service." he said. "And you are Mellock, or so I've heard. Now would you like to fight or to talk?" he asked.

Hranc Desert (East)

The Mankey stared at Ellis for a moment, most whom came face-to-face with him responded in a much different tone.

"Well ye won't find nothin' there, scavenger." he commented, "Me an' me boys already took all there was to find 'round here. Notin' but a dumb necklace! Dumb Miltank dropped it just the other day." he said.

"Well...I am Mellock Arthur Ahlieas. You have heard right. Who do you work for? And again, why do you want me?" He had been confused at the bow he had been given, but it made sense as he saw the smirk on the mummy-like figure's face. He smiled himself, although he did not know why. He felt he could trust this man, for some reason.

"Well at first I had a mind to take from you. I got word of an inexperienced thief in the area, thought I might make something quick off of him." he began, chuckling. "But now I'm curious, what's one as young as you doing going around stealing like some rouge?"

"Just taking for my next meal. I really don't like it. Hate it, actually. Although, if the victims rich I actually feel like I'm doin' 'im a favor. Open his eyes to the real world where there aren't any bon-bons for you to just take." Now he was intruiged. How this person knew about him--"Know me from the posters, don't you. Y'know, all the new guarding strategies are just bluffs. Taking from noblemen's like taking candy from a baby--not that bright, 'f you ask me."
{OOC: Curfew. Gotta go.}

"Haha, Miltank. I've seen a couple o' them before. Ya found a necklace? Man, I remember this one time me an' my cousin found a necklace, and he tried it on, and some big Monferno came along like 'That's my necklace, give it back!'. But we didn't, an' he got all mad, and FROOSH! My cousin was burned on like, half his body. Anyway, can I see the necklace? I been lookin' fer a birthday present for a friend and he likes jewelery and such." Ellis smiles, hoping the Mankey hands it over.

Hranc Desert (East)

The Manket took a necklace from a pouch. It had a long gold chain, with a blue gemstone in the center. Truly, it was a fine, and very expensive necklace.

"This is it." he said, dangling it. "If ye want it, you'll have to give me a real fine price. I'd say, one hundred an' fifty gold pieces." he said, it was traditional amongst thieves to price their wares unreasonably high, even for such high-quality goods.

Their search continued Mika and Fiona now on the East side of the Desert. Fiona looked around and as she looked she saw a Mankey and a Tyrouge. Hmm, looks like an exchange...if it goes south I'll interfere she thought.

Mellock liked this guy. But something felt wrong about being here. Wait! He'd just pulled off the theft! But, he had been seen, so someone had to be looking for them. "Hey, Montolio? If it isn't a bad time to say this, I think we have to leave. Someone might be searching for us." As he scanned the surrounding area, he saw something strange. It was a wanted poster, no doubt about that, but there was no portrait. No real one, actually. Just a grey blur with a flash of neon pink on the top...He squinted to see the script:
"Suspected theif, Montgomery Drummer, an Accelgor, after pulling another heist. There is a 100-gold-piece bounty over his head, to anyone who finds him and brings him in." Mellock didn't realize that he'd just said that out loud. Until he heard the echo all around him. "Soooooo. Do they always get your name wrong?" He heard distant shouts he knew were too well organized to be street rabble, whom he could get away from easily. He also just remembered that the victim of his most recent theft had seen him and almost caught him.
"Uh, Montolio, if this still isn't a bad time, would you mind helping us GET OUT OF HERE? They're coming!"

Mankey laughed aloud.

"Ye said yeself tis a fine necklace! Are ye tryin' to steal from me? But I like ye so, one twenty-five gold for a special discount." he offered.

Montolio Dremugar

"Of course. Well then, I do have a small shack out east. It's a little more accommodating than your cave, if you ask me. Care to come along?' he asked, extending his arm, with the intent of carrying Mellock on his back again.

"Of course!" Mellock Hopped on the back of the Pokemon. He noticed Montolio had shell-like skin--like that of an insect. "Oh...um...you're a Bug-type, aren't you? I had no idea... I think I'll just run myself..." And, as the Pokemon took off, Mellock realized he could keep up(Self-Conscius, his ability). When they passed his cave, he grabbed his things--a satchel, a few Sitrus Berries, and a peculiar ice shard that never melted. Then he ran to catch up with the man. But, along the way, he saw a few things in a cardboard box that maybe he wanted. "Hey, Montolio, why don't we get somethin' from that box. Looks abandoned, and the authorities aren't too close..." He put on a devilish smile and there was a mischievous glint in his eye.
