This is my theory about Pokemon Sun and Moon. Maybe it is inspired from the Solar Eclipse that is happened in Indonesia. We can see on it's trailer that shown a tropical gym. Maybe the game will be set in tropical area? Maybe it is based from Indonesia. Pay attention to the game title, "Pokemon Sun and Moon". If Sun meets the Moon on the sky, then it will became a solar eclipse. I hope you all can understand, sorry for bad English

Yea, it appears to be set in a tropical area, which seems to be the general consensus of the fanbase. But the solar eclipse was visible in other places around Indonesia too, I'd imagine, so it could just as easily be set in a region based on one of those places instead :) I think a solar eclipse would make a really cool plot device, since there's all kinds of supernatural legends and myths surrounding solar eclipses throughout human history, so it could be used to set the stage for a legendary event or cutscene of some sort.

I don't know if it'll be inspired by a real life event like that, but I expect a solar/lunar eclipse will be a major focal point of the plot, if these games are going to follow the standard storyline formula they've been using since Gen III. I'm hopeful they'll try something different, but...well, it's not too likely.

    Including Hawaii...

Yeah, I can see it as a big event. Or perhaps the evil team will use the solar eclipse to power the 'Moondial' or some sort of device in order to awaken the legendary, or for a weapon of some kind, or both.

Because of the Sundial, it will have to be as close to Kalos as possible. We could get North Kalos, New U.K region and South Kalos as new Sevii Islands

A solar eclipse would definitely be fitting in a game like this, and I guess it could likely be what may trigger the event where you have the showdown with the mascot legendary. The question is, will we be forced to catch said legendary again to progress?

What does the sundial have to do with anything? it's for mega stones

The Anistar Sundial was connected to Mega Stones, and given the timeframe you had to find the Mega Stones in Kalos was between 8pm and 9pm, the sundial was also active in that hour.

About the location... it's a very specific event, so maybe not, but I would die of happiness if it was inspired on Haway, or maybe it's like a Macronesian region or something. What I know for sure is that eclipses were considered as bad presages, so if they combine them with Pokemon, then... well... you know what will be coming... another catastrophe-themed story.

Not to mention that it has an opposite structure in a far way region: The Moondial

The question is, how will said moondial play in regards to the story?
Maybe the same as the Sundial?Btw I found this on Wikipedia: "Moondials are very closely associated with lunar gardening (night-blooming plants) and some comprehensive gardening books may mention them."
    Flowers...
Btw a basic moondial is only accurate during the full moon.

Hhmmm... It could very well be in Indonesia but you know the new woodpecker bird pokemon thing? That is based off an actual bird that is called Red-Crested Cardian (or something like that) and is found in Hawaii. But the Cardian is not native to Hawaii... It is native to Brazil. And givin how it is set in a tropical area it is going to be most likely Brazil or Hawaii... I got most of this info of YouTube ??????
