I think One month has passed since the Last thread So I decided to make a new one.
Obviously , Pokemon Sun & Moon Anime will air in Next year which also happen to be Pokemon Anime 20th Anniversary.
So , I except Pokemon Sun & Moon to be series where a lot of Older Character such as Misty , Brock , Treacy , May , Max etc reappears .

I really wouldn't say it's obvious, especially given the slump in ratings Pokémon currently has, combined with its poor merchandising sales and both XY movies bombing in the box office. If anything, I suspect that they'll just have Ash win a league and quit due to their losing money.

Besides, Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl aired during the Anime's 10th Anniversary, and aside from May and possibly Max (well, Tracey as well, though then again, considering Ash contacts Professor Oak a few times, it's pretty obvious he would appear if Oak himself appears), none of the main characters reappeared, so we can't say that they're guaranteed to reappear even IF there is a Sun & Moon Anime.

Hopefully if they do bring any character back, Misty is the one who gets an arc, she really needs it, especially when quite frankly, she really needs to continue her goal and not be forced into a gym where she's going to be a punching bag (not to mention they wasted a perfectly good opportunity to bring her back and give her much needed closure way back in Best Wishes when they basically skipped over the World Conference despite it being an element from X2Y2, which at that time had been released and the Anime, as you know, is essentially a marketing vehicle for the games). Then again, she's getting a lot of merchandising now, especially in her Kanto outfit, despite her being released a year or two before the anime's 20th anniversary.

I don´t really know about numbers, but if there is an anime, then I don´t think it will only start at the end of the year, except of course they take a break until the games come out, because the anime can´t take that long anymore since Ash only needs one more badge. If ratings are dropping, then to me it´s honestly no surprise, because the two XY movies weren´t very good compared to older ones and the anime is also getting quite boring, so I hope they will bring it back with some new Pokémon for Ash and awesome League battles.
If they make him win and stop being the main character, that´s totally fine by me, as long as they bring a new, refreshing character and anime because I don´t think that they want to give up on that source that fast.
I also wouldn´t give too much hope on anybody coming back because we haven´t even seen Iris yet. It would be great though if Misty or Dawn and Iris in combination came back because I liked how they mocked AshxD and as already said, Misty is on of the greatest characters of the show and deserves to come back.

I could see this happening, given XY's ratings underperformance. It's like the writers will go "okay this series has not performed as well as we hoped, so we must revamp and that means new main character for next series, which means we'll finally make Ash win a main league and get closure."

I wouldn't mind a new main character (and then replace them each saga like Yu-Gi-Oh! did), but then the issue that could come out of it is Pikachu being absent, and Pikachu is the series mascot.

Maybe, but then again, Solid Snake was the mascot of the Metal Gear series, and yet he's only been the main character in two of the... nine games of the Metal Gear series (four out of 11 if one counts the MSX2 games)? And that's solely for the canonical games. He was the main character in Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid/The Twin Snakes, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. In Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Rising, we played as Raiden (though we did have a brief bit where we played as Solid Snake in the Tanker Chapter of the former), and his dad, if anything, got just the same amount of games as Snake, having Snake Eater, Peace Walker, Portable Ops, and Ground Zeroes. Would have been more if The Phantom Pain didn't
    Spoiler:
, most games he's just not playable at all, two of them taking place well before Snake was even born. There have been mascots who got shafted before.

Besides, all they need to do is replace Pikachu anyhow.

Remember , How Brock was so serious , Strict and Antagonistic at first ? But later he join Ash and become a funny guy who chase after woman.
I want to see the same thing in the new series .
Like an New traveling companion who act like a total Jerk but later become Ash's ally.

Or Writers can just change the concept !
There is no point to a new protagonist if he's just gonna follow the same circle of Losing the league and start a new journey over & Over.
Maybe , The Anime should become more like Digimon that focus on Multiple Protagonist working together to save the day
