FireRed hack: Pokemon Sunlight

Even in fiction, one must stay inside the realm of possibility of that world.
In certain ways, the Pokemon world isn't very different from our own.

Now, that being said, if, as I said before, the trainer and/or his Umbreon had powers that normal humans/Pokemon do not, then it would be a bit more believable.

It would be even more so if the man gathered followers as, of course, it is not at all unbelievable that one powerful trainer could attract others to his cause. The man is, after all, still human. That is, it could reasonably be assumed that a bullet would be a pretty effective means of taking him down if he started trying to take over on his own, and they do have guns in the Pokemon world.

I completely agree. You should look into changing that aspect. I know it is you hack, but in serious, I don't see how such an event is possible. Even if you do make it possible how in the world is a little 10 year old gonna defeat this "Mighty" trainer upon the start of his journey....

There is alot that you need to consider when making a story. Firstly if its about the same size of an essay no one is gonna read it, atleast I don't, I justs base it upon the screenies if the storys that long, i mean your story even has a prolog, you realise you should mesh the prolog and the story together don't you? Then there is always that element of realistic-ness. Look at any of the great hacks you've seen lying around, they all have realistic stories that perfectly match thier region. Well thats all for me ^_^.

@DG - He's not going after the trainer. The trainers been gone a very long time. The 10-year old(Which I never stated an age, way to assume) boy is going after the Espeon because there's been sightings of it.

ok, so this Espeon has survived for thousands of years my some miracle happened, and this random, now since you edited your first post, 13 year old who has never been outside his village is gonna capture it? Are you serious? this new trainer really doesn't have a chance at defeating/capturing this over powered espeon.

I haven't edited my post in a while. However, Pokemon Diamond is pretty up to date, right? Like taking place in 2007-ish? And there's Arceus who's creater of the universe or whatever. How can he live for so long? How can you, a young boy in D/P/PT capture this Arceus? How can Red in R/B/Y/LG/FR capture the legendaries? It's just a game, right? Or do you honestly think that this (assuming he's 10 like you assumed) boy can travel all over a region unsupervised fending off criminals, becoming the region's top trainer, and catching all the legendary pokemon he fancies? It's just a game. Gamefreak made it anyway they chose. Now I'm making it however I choose.

I have to agree with him. Nintendo promotes going into caves with vampire bats who absorb life. And, A monster that fits into your pocket?! It is just a game. So, it shouldn't all be taken as serious.

Anyway:

Map critic: Too much free space. Bland, boring.

Map critic: Errmm... Tile Errors, check the path around the house. And the sand just... Ends.

Also, the mountain tiles seem to... Blend a bit when using the edge parts, so... Yor choice, but it all confuses me a bit.

I wish you luck.

Ok, you've got a point there. But I still don't like the idea. Well anyways good luck, and if I may, can I suggest that you learn to script? It is honestly not hard at all. Once you get your simple talk script going, everything else just startes making sense :)

Ehh, I tried learning to script. I started seeing all this 'checkflag' stuff and I said whatevvvaaa

Try again. You'll never have a good hack without good scripts and maps.

And speaking about mapping:

[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon Sunlight

This is too empty. Add some rocks and a nice little cave path. :3

And this looks like an edit of Pallet Town. It has tile errors too, which I think you should fix. Also, palette edit those tiles that the house is on so it blends in with the grass. Also, make the flower palettes a bit bolder.

Yes, yes. The tile errors / empty map has been fixed a while back. I haven't updated screenies in a while. I wanna get half the game done at least for an Alpha. Lmao.

I would like to see an alpha too :D. Oh and a question that is kind of off topic: How long does it usually take for a moderator to approve your thread?

I think this could be a great hack and I'll be sure to try it if the alpha comes up :D

The alpha will take a while considering the Alpha is gonna be half the game. and not long. Maybe a few hours to a few days.

Updateee, I've made quite a few maps, now all I need is a scripter for trainer battles / events and I'll release an alpha / beta. Any scripters interested?
