i even attached a reviver seed enjoy :)

What happens when you get rescued is that you can pick up right where you were defeated at without losing your current progress in the dungeon. If you Give Up the Exploration, you lose all the items and money in your inventory. But if someone rescues you, you can push onward.

Keep in mind, however, that not every dungeon allows rescuing.

So I have a huge question. I just attempted a quest from Axew to beat a (VERY OVERLEVELED) Salamence. Once I faint, do I press Save or Give Up?

It depends a bit. If you give up you lose all your stuff and can try again. If you return to your last save you keep your stuff (minus what you got after that last save) but you lose the exp you gained.

Sadly on mission floors you can't be rescued, if that is what you are figuring.
