pokemon teams thread

i cant believe how many people get legit shinys from eggs. theres a 1/1840 chance, which means theres a 99.945652173913043478260869565217% chance of someone lying or a 0.054347826086956521739130434782609% chance of someone telling the truth. same goes with those stationary pokemon and starters!

thinking about it.. maybe there was no real need for the large numbers! ah well :D

Shinies from eggs arent as bad as people think i suppose lol

It's not 1/1840 chance it's far worse, it's... 1/8192. xD

sorry!!
...runs and gets a calculator the new chance of getting one and thus the truth factor isss 0.01220703125%
and the lie factor or the not getting one factor isssss 99.98779296875%.

the next time you hear "i've got a legit shiny palkia" remember the chance of them legitimatley getting one is 0.01220703125%. Thats per encounter btw, the only time that 1/8192 number decreases is when you breed with shinys OR bust out the pokeradar and don your chaining skillz

Since this is a thread for your DP team, could people please stop posting teams that are primarily composed of Pokemon imported from your GBA game.

i am thinking of having a dragon team:

empoleon
salamence
flygon
altaria
gyrados
amphoros

How do Empoleon and Ampharos fit into a Dragon team? <.<;

Genius, or Not?

Here is my usual team:-

Gallade - Adamant
*Psycho Cut
*X-Scissor
*Drain Punch
*Swords Dance
EV Trained for Atk

Tyranitar - Adamant
*Earthquake
*Crunch
*Rock Slide
*Toxic
EV Trained for Atk

Gyarados - Jolly
*Earthquake
*Waterfall
*Ice Fang
*Dragon Dance
EV Trained for Atk

Lucario - Modest
*Flash Cannon
*Aura Sphere
*Psychic
*Calm Mind
EV Trained for SpAtk

Mismagius - Modest
*Shadow Ball
*Psychic
*Magical Leaf
*Calm Mind
EV Trained for SpAtk

Alakazam - Modest
*Psychic
*Shockwave
*Calm Mind
*Recover
EV Trained for SpAtk

As you can see, I am a fan of Adamant and Modest Natures, the only reason my Gyarados isn't Adamant is so it stands a better chance of getting two turns in a row if it uses Dragon Dance.

Here's a team I am thinking about using when I finally get access to WiFi tho...

Kingdra - Modest
*Dragon Pulse
*Surf
*Ice Beam
*Focus Energy
EV Trained for SpAtk

Flygon - Adamant
*Earthquake
*Dragon Claw
*Crunch
*Roost
EV Trained for Atk

Salamence - Adamant
*Dragon Claw
*Aerial Ace
*Fire Fang
*Roost
EV Trained for Atk

Dragonite - Jolly
*Outrage
*Earthquake
*Aerial Ace
*Dragon Dance
EV Trained for Atk

Infernape - Adamant
*Fire Punch (Chain Breeding: Medicham > Kadabra > Monferno)
*Thunder Punch (Chain Breeding: Medicham > Kadabra > Monferno)
*Brick Break
*Swords Dance
EV Trained for Atk

Mismagius - Modest
*Shadow Ball
*Psychic
*Magical Leaf
*Calm Mind
EV Trained for SpAtk

Yes I know I have four of the same type, but therein lies the Genius (If I say so myself); I am only susceptable to one type (Ice), which Infernape should be able to dispatch, and it is unlikely that my opponent will have more than one Ice-Type. Just incase my Infernape then gets defeated by a Water-Type, or a Psychic-Type, Mismagius knows Magical Leaf and Shadow Ball. Then I can go back to using the difficult-to-type-match Dragons. Ah ha! Technically the opponent could use a Dragon-Type against me, instead of an Ice-Type, but since I have four Dragons I should be able to get away with it.

Thoughts? Which of my two teams do you prefer? Do you think my tactic of trying to force my opponent to use a specific type against me will work? Have you tried it, and if so with what type, e.g. Four Psychic or Ghost Types and a Hitmonlee?
