Pokemon: The Creature Tamers

Royal: Good post! That's fine by me. Poisonthorn grew to level 11.

Kiara walked down the route on her happy quest, she was ready to encounter some creatures. At any earlier time, she would have run from any creature she came across, but now, with her own, she felt safe. The path was a small grassy trail with forest on either side, and Kiara could see quite a few creatures nestled in brenches or under bushes.

Suddenly, a purple creature with a curly tail and big teeth ran out into the center of the road. "Rattata tatta rat." Kiara had never seen a creature like that one before, so she pulled out her wildlife notebook. After skimming over the pages a few times, Kiara found the information on this kind of creature. It was called a mousetail, there was also a little bit of information on the life of a mousetail, dietary information and stuff like that, but Kiara skipped that part. This was a chance for her to make a capture. Flora looked up at Kiara from where she was standing on the ground. "Sprout?" Kiara knew that Flora was asking to fight.

"All right, this is our chance, go and wrap the mousetail with your roots!" Flora grabbed the foe in her root-like feet and beganto strangle it, squeezing tighter with every passing second. But, mousetail wouldn't give up. It struggled free and charged on Flora, hitting with a spectacular smack. Flora was sent flying backward by the blow. Kiara didn't know what to command now, but Flora seemed to have an idea. She tipped her cuplike head over the mousetail and a green powder fell gently out. After the mousetail had breathed in said powder, it fell asleep, right there and then. Kiara knew that this must have been one of Flora's powers.

Seeing this as a good time to lock mousetail up, Kiara pulled out two rings and fastened them on. She scooped mousetail up and looked at Flora. "Should we take this mousetail to the lab? It is pretty close..." "Sprout sprout!" Flora seemed enthusiastic on this idea so Kiara nodded and turned back around, heading toward the lab. After a few minuets of walking, Kiara and her creature were back in town, and together they walked over to the lab.

Once inside, one of the workers came over to greet them. "Hello young lady. Why are you back so soon?" Kiara lifted up the mousetail for him to see. It was starting to wake up now, though it was still bound by the rings. The worker seemed impressed. "Wow, that was quick, let me take that creature for you." The man picked up mousetail and put it in a cage. Kiara saw this as a time to go, so after looking back at the mousetail she had caught she headed off again.

Back on the road, not much else happened. The forest seemed quiet, too quiet. Suddenly a creature came running down the road at full speed, almost crashing into Kiara and Flora. The creature was blue, without arms, and it had leaves on top of its head. She would have tried to catch it, but the creature just passed all too quickly. Kiara looked it up in the wildlife booklet. Once she found it she read the title aloud. "Vileweed, and it says that this creature is pretty uncommon. I wish I could have cought it..." "Sprout..." Kiara could tell that Flora was disappointed too. "Oh well, we can get the next one." Kiara patted up her creature and they continued down the path.

Further down there was a market-like area where there were quite a few stalls. One person yelled to Kiara from his stand. "Her girl, watch out, there is a creature behind you! I've heard that that kind can put you to sleep!" Kiara turned to look at the man, but Flora spoke first. "Sprout?" The man looked at the two with a questioning stare, so Kiara explained. "Oh, this is my creature, she is tamed. Her name is Flora." The man stepped back with a half confused half impresesed look on his face. "Well that is something you don't see every day... can I pet her?" "Um, I guess..." The man put his hand on Flora's forehead and began to stroke it. "Hmmm, maybe creatures aren't as dangerous and mean as I thought." Kiara knew that this was true. "You got that right!"

Then, a man who had been shopping stopped by Kiara, he looked like a very rich man. He had on very nice clothes and was wearing a monocle. To Kiara's surprise, he too had a creature, it was tan with a coin on its head and thick whiskers. "Meowth." It purred in a sweet voice as the man stroked it. "Hello young miss. I see you have a tamed creature. They make interesting companions, do they not?" The man had a snobby and rude air to his voice, but Kiara haeld back a sharp remark because he seemed of high athority. "Sure, Flora and I are already good friends." The man smiled. "Well then how about we have a battle to see who is the better creature tamer." Kiara wanted nothing more than to do that, so she quickly obliged. "Okay!"

To start off the battle, the man let down his creature and Flora stepped up in front of it. "Now, Coin, use scratch." Kiara guessed that Coin was the name of the creature. As for the attack, Kiara literally saw it coming, and so did Flora. She dodged it quickly. "Now Flora, put the foe to sleep!" Flora let the green powder spill out again and the opposing creature was left sleeping. "Hmmm, seems like you have me in a sticky situation. We don't have any need to continue this further, you win."

Kiara picked up Flora and let out a joyful cheer. The man picked up his creature and walked off. He must have felt humiliated or something, for he didn't speak another word. With laughter in their hearts, Kiara and Flora approached the next town, and just by the buildings on the horizon, she could tell it was much bigger than Brightvale.

~Rotom~: That was a pretty good post. :) Just a few problems though. First, I know that I forgot to say it and I'm sorry about that, but you can only do one thing in a post. Either you catch a Creature or you battle. But since you didn't know and it's mostly my fault, it's okay this time. Also, Flora doesn't know Sleep Powder yet. It only learns it at level 13. Her attacks are Vine Whip and Growth. Anyway...the battles were a little short. But it was enough for....Flora grew to level 11 and learned Wrap!

OOC: That was some Latin. It reflects his upbringing and Dr Redwood's scholarship.

Florence stepped off the dirt path that surrounded the small town of Brightvale. We're making good time, hopefully. Florence glanced back at Rockball, smiling, to find that its mobilization was… limited to a propulsion process which probably wasn't very efficient. "Ah, well." He spoke aloud, both to himself and to his Rockball. "Come up here, Rockball." He lifted Rockball up to pack level. "I can't keep you lagging behind there, now, can I? Remember to grab onto my quiver if necessary. You can sit on top of my pack." After depositing Rockball on to the top of his pack, he resumed walking at a brisk pace.

The atmosphere was quiet among the medium-height grass. The only sounds to be heard were the sounds of Dustbeak chirps in the high trees and the rustling of the tall grass where Florence carefully tread, bow and arrow in hand and ready for a situation. Suddenly, the sounds of human activity could be heard.

"Homines alii audio." Florence muttered. "I do hear other people." And looking ahead, instead of staring only at the ground and scanning for sticks and stones that he might trip over, he saw the bustling activity of stalls, selling all manners of things. Aristocrats and common people alike were among the stalls, the merchants plying them with food and ale while accepting payments of coin in the other hand. Florence took in a deep breath, taking in the smell of delicious food.

"Nunc est edendum." Time to eat, I guess. Looking back to Rockball, he walked to the next stand and picked up chunks of bread, along with a goblet of meat sauce. As he slowly savored the basil and the oregano in the sauce, he fed some to Rockball – not that Rockball needed feeding, per se; it could eat well enough on its own, tearing into the food with ferocity. Musing to himself, lined up at a pie stand for some dessert, Florence waxed his bow string.

Just as he was handed over the steaming, fresh rhubarb pie and paid for it with two or three gold coins, another person stepped out of the crowd.

"Is that a Creaturr you've got tharr?" The person spoke with a slur, as if he was drunk. In his right hand was a clay jug, sloshing back and forth with some amber-coloured liquid. He probably is drunk, thought Florence. "Oh? And what have you got to do with him?" The man wasn't much taller than Florence, only two or three inches. His breath smelled of a foul stench, as well as the smell of alcohol. The man pulled out a squirming Vileweed out of his satchel.

"Now, lookee here, yon' man. Creaturrs are a threat to the society, and I'm not gonna let ye go off with one. Hand it over." The man swung his jug threateningly.

"No." Florence pulled out his ebony bow out of his quiver, along with the arrow he just placed there. He nocked his bow, arrow at the ready.

"Hey, no violence's necesseeray, eh? We'll solve this fair n' square. Tell you what, if my friend Vileweed beats yer Creaturr here, I get to keep 'im. "

Grumbling, Florence acceded the point. The man had a saber at his side, and he probably wasn't alone. Better not to start an armed conflict, and not rush at your potential enemy just because the blood's gone to your head. "Very well. If I win?"

"Oh, ye won't be doin' that soon, yon' man! But if you do win," at this the man made a mock grimace, "then you get to go free. Good?"

"Excellent." Florence nodded, suddenly more alert. Pulling Rockball off to the side, he whispered secretly to his Creature.

"Now, listen. To win against that overgrown piece of grass, you have to strike quickly and decisively. I don't have much time, so do your best to listen and remember."

"Geo! Geodude!" The Rockball said. It was unclear to Florence whether he had understood or not Florence's commands. Without any further thoughts, Florence backed away from Rockball, placing it inside the circle of spectators that had quickly sprung up, it seems from a previous performance. Rockball seemed now to be somehow smoother to Florence, although he wasn't sure if this was the case.

"Strike, Rockball!" Florence commanded. Rockball launched itself at its opponent, a Vileweed, scoring a direct hit. Vileweed staggered back, momentarily stunned.

"Nicely done." Florence approved. But immediately, the drunkard shouted in defiance – "Ha! Absorb his energy, Vileweed!" Immediately, Vileweed was noticeably strengthened while Rockball was weakened. Florence grimaced.

"Tackle Vileweed again! This time, keep up a steady pace of pummeling!" Rockball propelled himself forward again, arcing through the air to directly land on top of Vileweed. From there, it kept a steady wave of fist attacks, accelerated to a lightning-fast speed, using its fists of stone to maximum deadly effect. After about half a minute or so, Vileweed fainted, unable to fight anymore.

"Arrg! Kid, ger- outta here!" The drunkard looked frustrated. Picking up his Vileweed, he took a fresh swig from his jug. With a look of disdain aimed at the drunkard, Florence began to walk to the next town, looking for some healing plants as described in the notebook along the way. A few minutes later, he found a bush.

"Hmm… So, these are Oranir Berries." Florence picked one of the blue berries off the bush and popped it into his mouth. The berry's peel was hard, but it exploded and blossomed into all five of the flavors – it was partially spicy, mostly sweet mixed with sour, a bit dry, and slightly bitter all at the same time. He decided to pick enough to fill his pouch, and left the rest for other travelers and passers-by. "The Oranir Berry is said to produce some powers of healing. So, take one, Rockball. Go on, don't be shy." Rockball happily consumed the berry.

Only a few more minutes were necessary for them to have the next town just on the horizon. With all its activity, Florence could just make out some faint sounds of a dizzyingly different nature than Brightvale. A bigger town.

Cirrus: Great post. :) You just mentioned Vileweed as Vileplume once, though, near the end. Rockball grew to level 11.

Okay, listen up guys. I know that you're used to battling other people, but keep in mind that most of the public think Creatures are very dangerous. So please don't have a Creature Tamer battle every chapter. Once in a while is fine, but not too much, all right?

Sorry for the big font...I don't think the other RP'ers would have noticed otherwise. XD

Zeni was tired. He had ran from his house only a few hours ago. He was stumbling through the trees, when he heard sounds coming from a building only a few feet away. He looked to the direction of the noise, and saw a rather large building. He was slightly curious of the noise, so he went up to the door and knocked with the large brass knocker.

The large doors opened to an asisstant, who seemed rather anxious. "Hello, you must be the last applicant. please come this way." and with a hurry, he showed Zeni in. Zeni was awestruck. He looked around the house with a ferver. He didnt think that there were other people that could have such a big house.

The assistant took Zeni to a large lab in the back of the house. Near the back of the lab was an aging man in a comfortable recliner. By the old man's side was a large bird stood patiently by his side. The man motioned for Zeni to move in closer. When Zeni oblidged, He whispered, " You must be the last younging that I called here tonight. I am Dr. Redwood. I would like you to help me tame and gather data on all the creatures of this world. I am dying. I have with my life, tamed a few monsters I have called creatures." He stopped to breathe for a few minutes. Zeni fidgeted with his fingers.

Zeni had heard about these creatures. The creatures that were very dangerous. Then the old man started again. "I know it might be too much, but could you help a dying man achieve his dying wish?"

"I…..I….." Zeni was at a lose of words. Here he was talking to a professor who seemed to be telling the truth, but it was still too early for Zeni. Zeni steeled himself though. "Ill do it sir." He straightened his back and stood still.

"Thank you, young man," before he could finish his sentence, he slumped forward. The man was sleeping. Conserving his strength. Zeni concluded. The assistant came forward and placed his hand on Zeni's shoulder. "If you would please come this way," he said and led Zeni to another room. This room had cages in as its main furniture. Of the six that were there, only one was still full. Inside the cage was a small bird. Zeni crouched in front of the cage. The little bird looked back at Zeni intelligently.

"I'll take this one," Zeni announced to the assistant. The assistant smiled and went to a table. Zeni opened the cage and the little bird hopped out and sniffed his hand. Zeni laughed. The assistant brought back a notebook and some metal rings. "Here is your wildlife notebook and some metal rings to help you with catching other creatures. You want to weaken them first with that Dustbeak you have there." So its name is Dustbeak, huh. "Don't forget, the public still doesn't like creatures. so as you go around the world, show people that creatures are not meant to harm them."

"Sure thing." Zeni wanted to leave this building now. When he got out, he bent and allowed Dustbeak onto his shoulder. "well, hello there. My name is Zeni and im your new trainer." He took out a necklace. "This is to show that you are tame to others." The bird coo'd and slipped its neck through the necklace. After it straightened, Zeni turned to the dark road ahead. Thus beginning his journey.

fantasyfantic: Good first post! What's with the fonts? Zeni received a level 10 Dustbeak, Metal Rings and the Wildlife Notebook.

Will looked around Brightvale Road as he noticed all the people staring at him and Redcarp. He had slowed down to see all the merchandise. He did get some dirty looks because he was holding a Creature, but other than that, nothing happened. Will made sure he kept his hat down so no one would recognize him. Unfortunately, someone did.

"HEY YOU!"

Will turned around to see a tall woman. She was rather skinny for her height, but she was definately older. She wore common clothing and looked to be a merchant with that large bag she was carying

"What?" Will asked, not intimidated by this woman in the least.

"Aren't you William Thomas the Third?"

Will gulped as he silently cursed himself. He should have ran through here, but no, he had to stop and look at the merchandise in the colorful stands.

"You are him! I knew it! HEY GUYS! THIS IS THE SON OF THOSE TAX COLLECTORS!"

"Dammit. Redcarp, you are now with me through the end."

Will then went into an all out sprint.

"MAGIKARP!" was all that was heard from Magikarp as Will carried him. Next thing Redcarp knew was that he and Will were in a small pond together.

Will looked around from under the water after a few minutes. The angry merchants were gone.

Will went back up for air and took his bag off. It was made out of waterproof material, so hopefully no water got in it.

"Magikarp?" asked Redcarp with a questioning look on his face.

"Redcarp, it is a long story."

Neiko Star, I'm going to pull out. I just don't seem to have the muse to do this anymore.

Brightvale Road- Post 1

Zeni walked down the road, watching as vendors tried to sell people their wares to the other travelers. Dustbeak nestled into his shoulder, trying to not be seen. Well, Zeni didn't blame him. The passerbys were staring at him like he was T3H 3V1L!!!! They were looking at Zeni with fear in their eyes. 'How stupid is he?''Does he know the danger he is in?''I want to say something, but how?' The others mumbled, thinking he couldn't hear them.

Zeni stopped at a vendor maybe about 45 minutes after he left. This Stall was selling recovery items. He looked into his pockets, and being the surrogate son of a rich family, happily felt the amount of money he had taken from his 'second family'. "Excuse me sir," he said politely, "but could I get a few Field Medic kits?" The kits were the most expensive thing the store had to offer, and since he didn't know when the next time he would see another shop was, he decided to splurge.

The vendor looked at him. "Why yes, as a matter of fat, we have about twenty left. How many do you need?" The price tag said they were on sale for 1000 pokedollors each. He took out his wallet and said, "I'll take all of them please." The vendor was dumbfounded. 'How the hell does this kid have that kind of cash? What the hell. I'll just be getting them back anyhow.' "that will be 20-" Zeni placed the amount of money that the vendor was about to ask for and started to examine the first kit.

Satisfied, He placed the rest of the packs into his bag. Though they were small, they weighed a lot when combined. He hefted his pack onto his back and walked calmly down the street. After walking about another mile and a half, Zeni sat under a tree. Dustbeak looked around anxiously. "Don't worry, buddy. People aren't staring anymore. After regaining his breath, he heard the bushes to the side of the road rustle. Out of the bush came a big burly man with a chain on his hip like a whip. Soon, Zeni found himself surrounded. "Ok kid," the big burly man said, "hand over the field medical kits."

"Why?"

"Because were theives and we have you outnumbered." They thought to intimidate him. It almost worked. Zeni did calculations in his head. He could only knock out about two to three of them. Then he factored in Dustbeak, and smiled. "So will you hand them over or do we have to get physical?" Some of the gangsters had creatures of their own. One had a larger version of his Dustbeak. the rest generally had Vileweeds, some larger than others. (the evolved stage-Gloom-etc) Zeni looked the first dude in the eye.'This might get messy.' Zeni thought to himself.

(I have no idea whats up with the fonts)
