Harry slowly stepped forward, his hand hovered near his single, occupied pokeball. He glanced left and right, noting the uncovered trash can in the corner against the run down brick wall. Around the bent, metal can, stood the remains of cardboard boxes and bits and pieces of trash from an assortment of areas: Gum wrappers, plastic soda cups, a broken yo-yo, everything from everywhere, the junk cluttered the alley.
Harry carefully walked towards the trash, keeping his eyes open for anything that might dash from it or the other junk nearby. However, he gazed so intently for the creature, that he forgot to watch out where he was going. A loose brick, which probably shook itself loose years ago, lay just below his next step. In a wild loss of balance and control, Harry toppled over, tipping over the trash can as well as sending bits and pieces of junk flying everywhere. He stumbled to the ground, barely able to twist to the side, injuring his right shoulder. Yet, through the cost of pain, he found the creature, the pokemon.
A small, shiny, metal Magnemite hovered above the ground. By the expression of its single eye, it looked slightly frightened, yet defensive. The electrical bolts that sizzled from his body spoke another language, one that said it was ready to battle. And so was Harry. He grabbed the pokeball, and held it out into the air.
"Bulbasaur, Go!" Harry yelled.
On cue, a burst of white energy emerged from the metal sphere, forming the green and blue pokemon on the ground next to him. Bulbasaur, stood by, ready to fight, his eyes locked on Magnemite, his next opponent. Each pokemon prepared itself for the oncoming battle.
Harry moved first. "Bulbasaur, use vine whip! Grab it and take it down!"
A pair of vines shot out towards Magnemite, though, Magnemite was slightly faster and dodge just in time. Swinging around, it launched a thundershock at Bulbasaur, hitting him. Luckily enough, electric attacks barely affected him and he merely shook it off. Unfortunately, his grass and poison attacks would do very little as well. Harry needed to use a strategy.
"Bulbasaur, run and use tackle!" Harry commanded.
Bulbasaur acknowledged and dashed at the floating Magnemite. Yet once again, the Magnemite dodge, and upon Bulbasaur's leap, it merely moved to the side. However, what it didn't know, was that Harry was ready for this maneuver.
"Now, jump off the wall back at Magnemite!" he yelled.
Sure enough, Bulbasaur, hit the brick wall and jumped off it, throwing him directly at Magnemite. In this instant change of plans, Magnemite realized its mistake, but it was too late, Bulbasaur came crashing down, pinning Magnemite to the ground.
"Now, tie it up with vine whip!" Harry said.
Bulbasaur, solidly above Magnemite, sent out two vines that flew below him and wrapped around the magnets. This instantly brought forth a gigantic shock of electricity that damaged Bulbasaur, but not severly.
"Good, now bring it above your bulb and use sleep powder!" Harry shouted.
Bulbasaur slightly jumped, and swung his two vines around to the top of his body. Then, at the same time of landing, sprayed the metal pokemon with a blast of sleep spored. Harry inhaled quickly, before they reached him, holding his breath so he wouldn't be affected. However, even though Magnemites metal body protected it from the spores, it could not avoid a direct blast. Seconds later, after the attack, the single eye closed in deep slumber.
Harry waited as long as he could, before gasping for air. In an instant, he felt slightly drowsy, but luckily inhaled only a small fraction of the spores, not enough to put him to sleep at least. Wearily, but happy to win the pokemon battle, he quickly removed a spare pokeball from his backpack's pocket and threw it.
The ball, hit Magnemite, enveloping it inside. Bulbasaur's vines slipped away as the pokemon became white energy and the ball fell to the ground. Harry watched. The ball shook once, shook twice, shook again before finall settling down in one loud "ding". He had captured Magnemite.
