Pokemon: The Virus that Engulfs All (PG-16)

OOC: It may take me a bit to start posting long, seeing as how I usually don't post more than a paragraph.
ICC:Wes peered over his semi-large, glossy-black sunglasses after the recording of Professor Rowan had dissapeared. He then thought to himself as he stared at the seeling of the once-state-of-the-art lab,"He's right, I did have to abandon my pokemon, but at leaste they're in a place that cannot be penetrated by the Virus. All but one of my pokemon stayed behind, the one that wouldn't have left me for anything, even if it meant death by beating for him, Sparky."

Then a somewhat older looking, dark-haired Pikachu climbed up onto his abnormally white hair, although he was only about seventeen years old, and sat their excitedly, peering at the various new trainers and their pokemon.

"Brings back memories, doesn't it buddy?" Wes asked Sparky. He continued on in the same remembering sort of voice," I can still remember when we first started back in Johto. Dad had sent you in a Lightning-sealed pokeball to our small home in Goldenrod City, from one of his travels." Sparky nodded in agreeance to his words.

Wes then walked over to the main group of trainers, and said his helloes, and nice to meet yous," Hey guys, my name's Wes. Seeing as how we're going to apparently be working together alot, I thought we shouldd maybe get to know each other a little better. That way we can help each other get over our weaknesses." He then quietly waited there, his eyes behind his shades, hands in the sapphire-blue and black jacket, for the others' response.

Silver looked out over the fields. He had come to Sinnoh by foot and was exhausted. None stop walking from Johto. He had his tattered silver bag slung over his right shoulder and continued to stare at Sandgem Town. Many thoughts were racing through his head.

Don't worry Gold. I'm coming for you. Silver blinked a few times and then yawned. He was tired and he never wanted to feel emotions, but Gold had woken up a few of the emotions he now felt. Admiration, determination, love, and caring.

Silver cringed as he felt a warm hand touch his shoulder. He looked up to find a police officer looking down on hmi angrily. That's when Silver remembered he had another emotion that was opened by the stupid cops, fear. Silver knew he was going to get sent to jail, unless he outran and lost the stupid cop.

"Come on boy." the cop said. His voice was rough and it sounded like he was going to kill anybody at any second. Silver gulped and looked away. He then saw a small little Magby crawl out of a bush. Silver smirked and then dashed away from the cop towards the Magby.

"Hey!" the cop yelled. He dashed towards Silver angrily. Silver crouched down, continuing to run, and scooped the Magby up and then returned to normal height. He spun around to where the Magby faced the cop.

"Smog!" Silver yelled. His voice rang out in to the Magby's ears. For some odd reason, Magby felt the odd sensation that he wanted to be with Silver for the rest of Silver's journey. He nodded and shot out a black ichor at the cop. It hit and immedietly exploded. Silver smiled and then turned towards the lab. He knew it wouldn't kill the cop, it would just daze him.

(I'll do the next post with Prof. Rowan and all:))

Silver stopped behind a building with the Magb in his arms and started panting. He had his back against the wal and was trying to silent his heavy breathing so the cop wouldn't find him. Finally, he was able to start breathing normal and the cop came running to and past the building. Silver sighed with relief and walked out from behind the building and looked at the sign.

It was the laboratory he was looking for. He pushed the door open and looked around. A few other kids were standing in a line, so he stepped in line at the very end. Magby cuddled against his chest and smiled. Silver looked at Magby without any expression and turned his gaze back to the lab assistants who had a laptop on a desk. They pressed a button and the face of an old man appeared on the screen.

"You all are part of the next generation... an unfortunate generation to have to deal with the VRUS pokemon. The previous Generation, is... unfortunately, had a hand in it, but not directly. Now it is all we can do to hold them at Kanto. All of you have been chosen by potential... Wes, an ex-pro, forced to abandon his pokemon. Grey, a hopeful trainer with a lot of potential. Blairum, ally of Cynthia. Joyce, a scientist working to find a cure to the virus. Marissa, an outcast, a reject, and the only survivor in Cerulean City after the VRUS Pokemon struck, and Silver, the Avenger, and another ex-pro. Trying to save someone from a nearly non-existant threat." the old man said. The lab assistants paused the recording and started handing out a Pokedex and 5 Pokeballs. Silver took the supplies and slipped the Pokedex in his pocket and clipped the Pokeballs to his belt.

The lab assistants unpaused the recording. "You six, I am proud of you... for offering to volenteer for this. You have my thanks, and I hope you do not die out there." then the screen went blank. Yeah...I only volunteered to save my only friend, Gold. Silver thought to himself.

The lab assistants took the laptop away and then motioned for them to leave. Silver was the first to leave. He imedietly turned towards the first route for their journey. He stood right in front of it, staring out on to it as if he were staring out to sea. Gold. he thought.

END

[So, uh, PokeMaster, looks like it's just you, me, and maybe Symphony left in Rowan's lab. Everyone else has already run off. :P]

Blarim watched as the screen went blank. He had all types of questions, like "Why were we chosen?", and "Why do WE need to do this?". But Blarim was the type of person who knew those questions wouldn't get him any closer to achieving his goal.

Blarim walked out of the lab, without saying goodbye to any of the trainers or assistants. As he walked out, he unleashed his Turtwig out of his Pokeball. "Come, Turtwig." said Blarim, walking south of the town. Turtwig and Blarim meditated...Blarim believed it was an easy way to calm themselves during hard and tough times.

Turtwig and Blarim finally got to the beach. As he walked on to the beach, a Sandlash burrowed out of the sand. Turtwig immediatelly got ready to tackle Sandlash. "Turtwig, use tackle!" said Blarim, ready to battle. As Turtwig was going in the air, Sandlash got out it's claws and was ready to use scratch. "Turtwig, withdraw!" Screamed Blarim, seeing that his Turtwig was about to get scratched. "Turtwig" Called Turtwig, using withdraw and falling on the ground next to Sandlash. Sandlash used scratch and then let out a cry as it's claws were in pain from scratching the hard shell of Turtwig. Blarim threw a PokeBall at the Sandlash and...

(OOC: Zeta, decide if I caught it or not. And I just made this post because my computer would not let me edit it..)

98monkey1: ... dude, that is my fault. I didn't tell you what you couldn't do. You do not catch the pokemon. In a city, you can't fight other trainers, or pokemon. And you can't press on until I post the information on the next route, for I may have something important in it.

You fail to catch the Sandslash(?) Turtwig grows to Level 8?

Chapter 2: First Appearance of the VRUS Pokemon! (Route 202)
2-3 Posts

What you can and can't do in a route:

Trainers are able to catch and battle any of the pokemon on the list, but you can only catch one pokemon per post. Also, I will tell you whether you catch the pokemon or not. So leave it to where the pokeball is shaking to catch whatever pokemon you're trying to catch.

You can fight trainers, but MAKE IT BELIEVABLE You can't take on a Level 120 Blastoise with a Level 15 Charmander and win. You don't have to list the status, but just make it believable. If you put in a powerful trainer, then just lose.

You can find items, TMs, and berries.

About catching pokemon, I have a few rates of catching.

Common, Uncommon, Rare, Very Rare, Special, Virus, Legendary

With the exception of Virus and Legendary, the rest are indicators of how good your posts have to be to get them. Common is the easiest, and Special is by far, the hardest. Virus, is just a virus pokemon. You can't catch it, so if I decided to be mean, I could put a level 250 Virus Tyranitar, with a good moveset, good nature, and a good ability, but you wouldn't be able to get it. Not even with the Master Ball. Same with Legendary. If you tossed a Master Ball at a legendary, and made the best post I ever saw, and even had to split it up into two parts, because you surpassed the character limit, and double post to make it, with the moderator's permission, you still wouldn't get it. (But you'd get a huge level boost, and that is good.)

About 30 minutes after the Sandslash ran off,(?) after battling Turtwig, Blarim and Turtwig were done meditating. Blarim pulled out his map out of his bag. He studied it while his Turtwig ran around the beach. There were two nearby towns. Twinleaf town, a small town to the south, and Jubilife city, a town Blarim had certainly heard of being the most Hi-Tech city in the Sinnoh. Blarim wasn't used to technology, because he grew up in isolated Celestic Town. The most advanced thing he saw was a PokeTech that Cynthia owned. Blarim didn't really look forward to going to a city crazed about technology, but it was bigger then Twinleaf town. Besides, Twinleaf town was a dead-end according to his map. He decided it was best to go north.

"Come on Turtwig, let's go," Blarim called out to his Turtwig. "Turt!" said Turtwig, following Blarim. They walked north out of the city, and suddenly a Shinx walked out of the high grass, not noticing them. Blarim looked at his Turtwig and Turtwig nodded. "Turtwig, use tackle!" Called out Blarim. Turtwig sprang towards the Shinx and knocked it on the ground. Shinx then scratched Turtwig. Turtwig uttered a cry. "Turtwig, use tackle again!" Called out Blarim. Turtwig then hit Shinx as Shinx was running away. Shinx fell to the ground and Blarim quickly got a Pokeball out of his bag and threw it at the Shinx. "Good job, Turtwig" Said Blarim, staring at his Turtwig as the Pokeball rocked back and forth...

[I hope we get an OOC board up soon, because I have a lot of questions that need to be answered.

Hm, Starly evolves into Staravia at lv 14. Does the virus affect how Pokemon evolve?]

The assistant was unresponsive. Joyce sighed and stepped away from the counter in restless irritation. She wanted to stretch her shoulders, pace outside on the grass, but settled for straightening her dark grey jacket and slipping the PokeBall with her Eevee into one of the pockets. So maybe the assistant had other things on her mind, but Rowan should have left some instructions! What sort of a mess had she signed up for?

Marissa had left. The next oldest in the group was 'ex-pro' Wes. Joyce watched him as he walked over. 17 was a good age, she thought. No, 17 was a terrible age. But it would have to do. She tried to size him up from a distance, but couldn't get past the solid black sunglasses.

"Hey guys, my name's Wes. Seeing as how we're going to apparently be working together alot, I thought we shouldd maybe get to know each other a little better. That way we can help each other get over our weaknesses."

The bit about 'weaknesses' seemed funny to Joyce. She smiled brightly, extending a hand. "I'm Joyce. Pleased to meet 'cha! Wes, you seem like a pretty confident guy." Her eyes darkened and her tone became more sober. "What's your plan for tackling the virus? Where will you start?"

Wes then chuckled a little at the 'Confident-guy' part, but then he turned serious and spoke in an obiviously serious tone of voice," Well, to tell you the truth, my only plan is to pick a city in Sinnoh to start from, and then travel from city to city, and try to liberate the source of the VRUS outbreak, so that it hopefully wouldn't continue to spread. After that, I'll wait until there is some sort of an antidote, and spread it across however I can." He then began to laugh, and then said," I know, you probably think I'm crazy."

Sparky and he then went outside the old lab, and looked around Sandgem, which apparently had been deserted all but a few houses, and the pokemart. He decided to go in, and buy some pokeballs, seeing as how they would probably come in handy, even in such times.

Once inside, the clerk, who appeared to be somewhat tattered from not leaving the place in what seemed to be days or even weeks, said," Hello young traveler, welcome to our once-beautiful city. How may I be of assistance to you?" Wes responded," Yes, I'd like to buy about 10 pokeballs please." The clerk the told him that it would cost him 500 pokedollars, Wes told him," Even though you've needed to discount to make ends-meat, I'll still pay full price for them." He then handed over 2000 pokedollars, said his thanks, and walked out of the Pokemart.

Wes then went back to the lab, and asked Joyce would like to come to route 202 with him, so that she wouldn't go it alone.

After Marissa had told the boy of her coming to Sinnoh he told her to head to route 202 and to be careful for there was a demon in those parts.

She returned her Squirtle who had become incredibily bored and she headed of to the next route.

After traveling on the path for a couple of minutes she saw an injured Starly in the middle of the route.

"Oh, my!" she exclaimed at the sight. She rushed to its side and began nursing it. She applied a few stray oran berries and and a wet cotton cloth to the injuries. The Starly, however, refused to be treated and would hobble away when she atempted to treat it.

"Starly, your in no condition to battle or even to be walking! Please let me treat you." when Marissa had finished speaking the Starly shook its head and tears filled Marissa's eyes.

"I'm sorry, then I have no choice, but to capture you." Marissa said. She knew that the berries had given it some strength so she knew this wasn't going to be too easy.

"Squirtle come on out!" she shouted releasing the squirtle from its ball. The squirtle yawned as it came out and the Starly swooped in clawing it in the eyes.

"Squirtle, you can't lose! Spin and use bubble!" Marissa shouted with determination.

A barrage of bubbles flew around the field. The Starly dodged every one of the bubbles and let a malicious and victorious growl. The Squirtle showed signs of weakening and tumbled backwards, but Marissa just smirked. The Starly began landing on the ground, but it slipped on the wet grass. This was Marissa's plan the whole time.

"Now's your chance, Bubble!" Marissa shouted at the Squirtle who had recovered from its fall backwards.

A stream of bubbles coming from the Squirtle pounded it into a tree. The Starly had been heavily injured.

"Now follow up with tail whip!" Marissa screeched

The Squirtle wagged its tail at the Starly and made it angry. The Starly then flew to a large rock and prepared to crush the Squirtle with the rock. It dropped the rock directly on the Squirtle.

"Squirtle, Tail whip" Marissa commanded.

The Squirtle hit the rock with its tail and the rock flew directly opposite of the Squirtle and crushed the Starly. The Starly had fallen next to an apple tree.

"Squirtle tackle the tree!" she yelled quickly.

The Squirtle did as she had commanded and apples began to fall down.

"Now follow it up with bubble!" Marissa ordered right after.

The Squirtle shot bubbles at the apples and the apples picked up speed. The Starly had been crushed by several apples traveling at high speeds and the end of Squirtle's bubbles.

"Now, to throw the pokeball!" Marissa said and she threw the pokeball.

One... Two clicks and she crossed her fingers hoping for a successful capture.

@98monkey1: Sorry dude, but that post wasn't good enough to warrant a Shinx catch, so it escapes. Seeing as you have a couple posts left, you could chase after it.

Turtwig grew to Level 9

@Rabbit: Good post, and yes. the virus really messes up a pokemon. Not only can they evolve early, their abilities get replaced with one of the multitude of Virus abilities.

@PokeMaster1: Nice post.

You obtained 10 pokeballs.

@FrozenSnowman: That is a pretty good post.

You caught a Level 5 Male Starly

Wes then told her that if you want to, just to follow, but that he was going on," I'm going to go ahead, but if you'd like to, just go on, and I'm sure you could catch up." He then left the lab with a hand thrown up into the air as he faced the doors, opposite to Joyce. When he left, he walked a little was to the entrance of Route 202.

He got there around 5 minutes later, and saw a Shinx just laying don onto a rock, so he walked over and began to pet the cat-like pokemon. It began to make a low purring noise as Wes stroked his Fingurless-gloved hand across it's soft fur." You like that hugh?" He said with a laugh. The pokemon then got up and nudged for Wes to do the same, apparently wanting to battle.

Wes told Sparky to use Quick Attack, with a good hit landing Shinx right on the left flank. The Shinx then retaliated with a Tackle, which caught Sparky off gaurd, doing a little damage, but nothing serious. Sparky then zapped the Shinx with a thundershock, stunning it, and landed one more quick attack. Wes then threw a pokeball with 1...2...Crack, the Shinx managed to get out. He then zapped it with another thundershock, and threw one more pokeball. 1 nudge...2 nudge...

"Your my pokemon now! You have to obey me now and if I say let me heal you then please let me! I can't stand to see you injured!" Marissa said while crying over the Starly.

The Starly recently caught finally submitted to the tears and with its wing wiped them away and sat in her lap.

"Thank you." she whispered to him and she began applying the oran berries to his wounds.

When the Starly was treated she got up still recovering from when she was crying and yelled "Okay, let's go!".

She let the Starly walk next to her and continued walking up the path. The Starly was suddenly trembling. A demonic looking Staravia stared menacingly at the Starly. The Staravia flew past the Starly almost scratching it with its talons that were surrounded by a dark shadowy aura.

"Is this the demon of Sandgem Town? Is this what defeat my poor Starly? Is the power of the Virus?" Marissa said with tears streaming down.

"Starly were going to win!" Marissa said with a burning passion.

"Starly, Quick Attack now!" Marissa said with hell in her voice.

The Starly rapidly gained speed and slamed into the Staravia. The Staravia just chuckled at the impact and countered it by ramming it with its body surrounded by a dark aura. Starly fell back and onto the ground.

"Starly get up!" Marissa shouted.

It was too late and Starly was hit again by the VRUS Charge. The Starly imediate flew away before the Staravia could attack once more, however, Starly was severely injured. The Staravia charged at Starly again.

"Starly circle it and Growl!" Marissa commanded her Starly.

The Starly dodged the charging by circling around the Staravia like Marissa had told had told him and he was also growling fiercely at the Staravia. The Staravia realized that there was no way for him to hit the Starly with the VRUS charge and so he began jabbing at Starly. It was like a game of Whack a Mole, Starly was the mole and Staravia was the Hammer. Starly kept traveling around the Staravia in a circle while growling and Staravia was trying to hit the Starly where ever it was. The Staravia then suddenly switched from hitting the Starly in its clockwise pattern and jabbed its beak in the opposite direction. The Starly and the Staravia's beak eventually collided and the Staravia began Jabbing the Starly frantically. It did not hurt Starly a bit.

"What... the Peck's not hurting Starly at all. There's not even a STAB bonus. Does this mean that the Virus has the ability to strip a pokemon of one of its types?" a shocked Marissa said.

"Hmm, okay Starly tackle it!" Marissa commanded after digesting the realization.

The Starly broke free from Staravia's grasp and slammed it into a tree.

"Follow it up with your Quick Attack." screamed Marissa.

The Starly then flew back forth ramming the Staravia with a high speed attack every time it passed by.

"Now tackle the tree and grab a nice heavy rock." Marissa said with a smirk because it was similar to how she defeated Starly.

The Starly smirked back and rammed the tree causing apples to fall down on the Staravia. As the apples fell Starly had lifted a huge stone and dropped it over the fallen Staravia. The stone caused the apples to be crushed into juice that stung the Staravia's eyes and crushed it.

"Good work starly." Marissa said with her back turned away from the Staravia.

Behind her back though the Staravia was angry and he had charged a very dark aura round himself. He was gaining speed and swooped from where they had left him and spun around Marissa and her Starly.

The Staravia's speed was so incredible that the wind picked up with him and a whirl was forming just because of it.

"Starly spin in the opposite direction!" Marissa shouted caught of guard.

The Starly flew in a circle opposite of Staravia's and the wind began to die down. The Starly's whirl was reverse that of Staravia's and the two cancelled each other out. The Staravia had become dizzy after spinning so long.

"Now Starly finish it, Tackle attack!" Marissa shouted with no mercy.

The Starly slammed the dizzy Staravia into the ground and begin continuously slamming into the ground until Starly was sure it was unconscience.

"Let's go Starly" Marissa said coolly after extracting a sample of the Staravia's blood with her Syringe.

OOC: I hope it was okay to take a blood sample. If not I'll just contaminate it.

Wes left. Joyce slammed her palm into her forehead, fighting the urge to crush something with her bare hands. Fortunately, the impulse was short-lived. Wes was right - she did think he was crazy. It occured to her that she should follow him and make sure he didn't do anything life-threatening, especially while trying to 'liberate the source of the VRUS.' But he was already out the door. Well, she had a feeling he'd be back.

The laboratory has progressively grown more silent. As she looked around, Joyce found that only she and 12-year-old Christopher were left. Rowan had left them no instructions. The group had failed to come together and discuss the situation. The assistants had turned their backs on her and were tidying up after the presentation. She really was on her own, wasn't she?

Then Joyce remembered the PokeBall snug inside her jacket pocket. It was high time to see what sort of a creature she'd been given. She took out the red-and-white ball and experimented with the button on the front for a minute, shrinking and expanding it from ping-pong ball size to baseball size before causally tossing it onto the tiled floor. The ball sprang open and released a tiny little Eevee.

"Vee!"

The fluffy, chocolate brown creature didn't even reach her knee, and that made it all the more adorable. "Aww!" cooed Joyce, bending down gracelessly to pet its head. "Aren't you a little darling! Yes you are." The Eevee padded around in circles, sniffing the floor, Joyce's hands, and her jeans.
Joyce scooped up the Eevee and stood up with it sitting docile in her arms. She had decided that it was a boy. "What should I call you? Pallas? Liebchen? Amsterdam? Ferric Oxide? Jackie? Churchill? Olive?" The Eevee stared at her blankly. "I guess Olive is a good name as any," Joyce decided. She plunked Olive onto the floor again. "Show me what kinds of moves you know."

Olive was listening, and he knew the word "move". He wagged his tail, then rammed into Joyce's leg, grabbing hold of it with his forepaws. "That's excellent," Joyce laughed, picking him up, "but we're going to need to work our offensive."

When Wes came back, she was trying to teach Olive how to bite using her wallet as a chew toy. "Sure, I'll go with you," Joyce replied, but he was already on his way. Man, people were really in a hurry around here. She took her time leaving, checking the contents of her back and packing up. Then she stepped out into the spring sunshine with Olive at her heels, and headed to the northern route. She lived in Jubilife and had come this way on her way to the lab, so the area was familiar to her.

Joyce saw Wes ahead. "Yo!" she shouted, and waved. It looked like he was trying to capture a Pokemon.

[Dang, I'm slow.]

@FrozenSnowman: Great battle post, and you actually caught the fact that VRUS Staravia doesn't get the stab from flying attacks.

Starly grew to Level 7!
You obtained a blood sample!

@Rabbit: A little, yes. But a fine post it is.

NOTE: The OOC thread is open! Ask questions there, and I will have the status of all of your trainers there. Also, now I need trainer cards to be submitted, since now the OOC thread is open.

Blarim watched silently behind a bush as one of the trainers that was "Destined" to save us all from the Virus Pokemon tried to catch the Shinx. The trainer got Shinx in a Pokeball, and Blarim was worried that he would catch it...However, the Pokeball shook but then Shinx ran off. Blarim muttered a quiet "Yes!" as Shinx ran off. He still had a chance to catch it. Blarim swerved around the trainer in the bushes so the trainer wouldn't see him. He then ran off towards the Shinx. He saw a Bidoof walk in front of him, but dodged it. He then saw the Shinx walking along a trail about 30 yards in front of Blarim and Turtwig. "Turtwig, go!" Yelled Blarim, as Turtwig went in pursuit of the Shinx. But Blarim read about Shinx in a book on Woodland Pokemon before, and he knew that Shinx had some of the best eyesight for a pokemon, and even though Turtwig's leaf on it's back blended in with the Bushes and Trees, Shinx could still see Turtwig coming and ran off.

Shinx was much faster then Turtwig. It must have ran 3 times as faster, because Shinx was already gone from Turtwig and Blarim's vision. Turtwig slowed down to a stop and Blarim ran next to him. "Good job, buddy." Said Blarim, patting his Turtwig's shell. Turtwig smiled in response. They were like that for about 30 seconds, when they saw a quick flash of blue about 10 yards ahead of them. Turtwig looked at Blarim and they both nodded. They ran off towards the Shinx.

They could now see Shinx in the distance, far ahead of them but Turtwig must have had some power boost, because he was catching up. Turtwig was right behind Shinx and Blarim didn't even have to yell tackle before Turtwig tackled Shinx down on the ground. They both tousled there while Blarim caught up. Then, Shinx's head hit Turtwig's shell and it was dazed for a moment. Turtwig then tackled Shinx again, even harder, and Shinx was even more dazed. "Good, Turtwig." Said Blarim, throwing a Pokeball at Shinx. The Pokeball rocked back and forth...Then Shinx escaped from the Pokeball. But Turtwig suprised Blarim by using a move he'd never seen him use before...Turtwig focused hard on Shinx and then Shinx fell to the ground, and Turtwig gained more energy. Blarim had heard about that move before...Absorb, was it? As Shinx layed on the ground, Blarim threw a pokeball at it a final time, and it rocked back and forth...
(OOC: I don't know if I'm aloud to say what moves my pokemon got...But Turtwig learns absorb at level 9)

(OOC: Current moves Turtwig knows: Tackle, Withdraw, Absorb, and Snore (Taught by Cynthia))

Turtwig and Blarim both cheered as Shinx was caught. "This is the first Pokemon I caught with a Pokeball...And not the last." Blarim thought silently. He was excited for him and Turtwig, becuase it looked as if they had a good future. He was very happy he got Turtwig in the first place. Turtwig was a great Pokemon. He was about to compliment Turtwig on his achievement when a wild Staravia flew out of a nearby bush and hit Turtwig. Blarim couldn't even see the Staravia fly out of the bush. He could just see an injured Turtwig being attacked by a mad Staravia. Starly kept tackling Turtwig, and Turtwig just laid there silently. "Go! Go away!" Yelled Blarim, but the Staravia just ignored him. There was something strange about the Pokemon...But Blarim didn't know what. Blarim was about to kick at the Staravia, but decided that wasn't the best idea. He quickly grabbed a Pokeball out of his bag..."Go, Shinx!" Screamed Blarim, in tears for his Turtwig. "Shinx, use thunderbolt!" The Shinx just stared at him with a blank look on it's face. "Do you even know thunderbolt?!" Asked Blarim quickly. Shinx just kept staring at him. "Tackle Staravia, Shinx!" Yelled Blarim angrily. Shinx ran towards Staravia and tackled Staravia, moving it about 2 feet from it's original space without even knocking it down to the ground. Shinx was about to tackle Staravia again when it saw Turtwig slowly getting off the ground. Staravia tackled Turtwig again. Shinx tried tackling Staravia again, but Staravia just knocked Shinx to the ground with it's wing. Then Turtwig used a move Blarim hadn't seen in a very long time...Snore.

Cynthia taught Turtwig the move a long time ago, when they lived in Celestic Town. Blarim never actually thought it would come to good use, and was angry at Cynthia because Turtwig liked to use it and make Blarim fall asleep all the time. But Turtwig got over using the move, and Blarim got over being mad at Cynthia. The Staravia rocked back and forth, and fell to the ground. Shinx was also asleep. "Good job, Shinx. You tried." Said Blarim quietly, taking Shinx back into it's ball. Blarim ran towards Turtwig. Turtwig had it's eyes shut and wouldn't wake up when Blarim gently shook him. Blarim started crying again, scooped up Turtwig in his arms, and ran off towards the Jubilife City Pokemon Center. As Blarim ran, he saw Staravia slowly get up. Blarim ran faster, but then Staravia noticed him and started flying in his direction. Blarim put down Turtwig and was about to get out Shinx when the Staravia hit his head. Blarim fell to the ground quickly and fainted. Staravia just flew off, seeing as it had done it's job...
