[Released] Pokemon This Gym of Mine / Rank Up Edition

would you add romance to it and maybe have a marriage system and i hope the protagonist will get a battle portrait for rank up
Likely not. There's already a number of other systems to keep track of at the moment and I'd rather try to polish them first before adding anything else. Not to mention, most of the characters you interact with are your workers and I'd rather not open that can of worms...

Thanks for your dedication and passion omegas!! Keep it up bro! I want to play once your final version is out!!
How much time do you think we will go through from demo 2 to final release?? Cant wait for it!!
Thank you for enjoying my game! With all of the major systems in place, it, hopefully, shouldn't be too long if I can reign myself in, but it will still likely be a good bit.

😭 I missed you.
Around 7 months ago I completed ti the point of where mayor was caught and I had fought 1 gym leader at holiday. Then, I tried to find you but wasn't able to. I was upset that you left the project. But seeing you back, I am very happy.

Even though it's very late but

WELCOME BACK!!!

There is one bug I found while playing. Main character just pass through terrains on many place without any need of stairs as if it's on the same level.

I found one more. Even though there is notice of help wanted even after completing first police mission and when you go to talk, they don't have any mission for you.

You cannot select the feminine character in the rank up demo, it just turns it into the masculine one :(

Edit: I get the feeling that the demo was released much too early, running changes the character sprite.

I mean... it is a demo. it is obviously not gonna be totally ironed out, it is just meant to showcase some of the things you can expect in the full version

One major critique I have for RankUp and TGOM in general is the use of real time. In order for me to see other Pokemon I am forced to change the clock on my computer. This isn't a fun mechanic as I can only play in certain parts of the day. I would much prefer having it where each in game day progressed from morning to night. Maybe have it where you can select the bed to change it from day to night so that way you're not racing against the clock to get somewhere before it gets dark.

But right now using the computer time is just frustrating.

Also the gym battle music is louder than the rest of the music in the game.

hey i have an idea why don't you put them on separate posts and another idea the rank up edition should have a different story to it or at least more to it and maybe more choices

That game looks amazing!
Did you include the ev mechanic? .. I'd hate to start and find out later, that i should have done ev training.
Thank you in advance

Hello again, everyone! I am here with big news! Pokemon This Gym of Mine: Rank Up Edition v0.2.0 will be available to play shortly after this post is live. This demo will play up to Rank 2 and will showcase even more of what Rank Up Edition has up its sleeve.

As mentioned before, new side stories will be made available: Comics 'n Cards and The Daycare will all have stories that run alongside the main story and can be handled at your leisure. They are not necessary to progress the main story, so engage with them as you please!

In addition, a new mode has been added to the game: Gauntlet Mode! This is a bit more difficult challenge for players who feel the main Gym battles are not challenging enough. This mode does not heal you in between challengers. Not only that, ONE loss ends the day automatically. In return, your Notoriety increases and decreases at twice the normal rate, which means more money and a faster growing Reputation. For players who have already started the game, just interact with the sign in front of your Gym to toggle the setting.

Speaking of Gyms, your Gym Trainers now appear in the Break Room and can give you items on an occasion (and the odds of it triggering aren't non-existent this time!). Have a chat with your Gym Trainers and see what they have to say!

New items, moves, and tweaks to existing Pokemon will help bring certain Pokemon into the spotlight. For example, Umbal Cherrim has been completely overhauled! Experiment a little if you need to spice up your team!

Finally, the main attraction of this update is the Even Badderlands! This story will run alongside the main story, unlocking as you progress through the game. Out of all the side stories, this will be the largest of the three, with major bonuses for engaging with it. This includes Pokemon with hidden abilities and even moves they can't normally learn! If you are familiar with my other project, Pokemon Snow Warning, then you will know of the Tyrant Pokemon in that game. They roam around the overworld and are a difficult challenge for unprepared Trainers. The Even Badderlands feature a similar mechanic. Pokemon in the overworld are especially strong, with powerful moves and abilities! Ever wanted to see a Trapinch use Mach Punch? Check the Even Badderlands. In addition, certain Pokemon are unique to the Badderlands or appear earlier than in the original game! In addition, this side story will introduce new characters and flesh out others! For players looking for a fresh experience with This Gym of Mine, please check around the Even Badderlands!

While I am here, I do have a question for all of you. So far, I have been releasing new demos as I have finished each rank. I have seen many people say they would rather wait until the full game releases to play. As such, I wanted to ask if I should continue releasing demos as ranks are finished, or if I should release the game in two batches, one with everything from the original TGOM with a bit extra, and the planned post-game expansion. I want to see what you all have to say before I settle one way or the other.

I hope you all enjoy Rank Up Edition v0.2.0! I hope you all have a nice day!

I think it's a nice have to be able to play the demo first and get our curiousity satisfied.
So long as it's marked as Demo, which will obviously will have faults. I don't see the problem.

But I admit, that for newly interested player it's interesting to grab the newest version with the most interesting, new features.
In ahaste one might not notice, that a game is not 100% playable or bugfree.
So instead of "Pokemon TGOM RankUp v0.1.1", you could just name the file "Pokemon TGOM RankUp v0.1.1 DEMO", so that it get more noticeable and people avoid frustration.

And please tell me if the EV system is a part of this game. Many thanks.

Excited for the update! I'd rather play it as you finishes ranks because it helps iron out bugs better, I don't mind restarting a game to re-experience it fully once it is complete, and while I understand bugs happen it is much less frustrating to restart a game you've put less time in because of a bug than to get far and have all your hard-earned progress destroyed. You can also get more feedback in general by completely it piece by piece. Still, I am okay with any decision you make as getting the chance to play such a great game is already amazing.
