4th Gen Pokemon Trainer Blue?

I think it would be kinda cool if she was in the game, but I don't really care that much. It wouldn't follow the original game at all though..

where there 3rd and 4th generation pokemon in G/S? nope

Clearly its not a fully 'remake' but it does take place in Johto and Kanto in which happened in G/S with so many new features. And the reason that Blue wasn't in G/S is because FR/LG were made later, crystal introduced the gender options.

Not all remakes are 100% fully a remake. Like what Karasuma said, there are some things they left out like Kris not being the female protaganist in the remakes, and Giovanni wasn't present in the G/S FR/LG games.

I'm going to a number of things:
1. I'm sorry for what I said. I was sick and in a bad mood and I took it out on you.
2. That message was deleted, only pointing out that what I said was out of line.
3. You're right, there not all 100% remakes.
4. Adding Kris would take away the significance of what Crystal did for the pokemon world: having the first female playable character.
5. Giovanni is in there because the event in which he appears explains once and for all that silver is his kid (you wouldn't believe how many people don't know or don't believe that), and this was the only generation that featured silver.
6. Because of how Kris and Leaf acted, taking the place of the male rather than swapping with him like May and Dawn, they needed a new female character for it to make sense. (You really wouldn't believe how many people would probably freak out if kris and gold so much as appeared on the same screen and one of them talked).
7. Please refer to her as Leaf, since there was no blue themed game including her and people might confuse her with the rival blue from R/B/Y/G/S/C, and that's her official game name.
8. People are disappointed with the removal of a lot of things. But the game is already out and you can't change it. Don't hate HG/SS for these reasons alone.

Yes, this rant was completely necessary. And for those of you who think it wasn't... well, there's not much you can do about it, is there. Oh, and who brought up the topic of Red raping Mario? Wtf is wrong with you?! We don't need that stuff on here!

Oh no don't get me wrong now I never said anything about hating the game, I'm getting it after all when it comes out in the states. All I was asking is as to why she wasn't in the game that's all. XD

Seeing as there are random topics getting started here like Red getting it on with Mario...a mod could close this thread, I don't mind.
 
It's the fact that if you play the games where Leaf and Crystal appear, you'll notice that when they're in the game, neither Red or Gold respectively aren't. However, If you play R/S/E or D/P/Pt, the other Gender appears in the storyline. Not only that, but since this isn't a Crystal remake, they din't want to put a lot of crystal only stuff in there. In fact, the only event I can think of that happens the exact same between HG/SS and Crystal is the Dratini thing. It's for similar reasons why Leaf does not appear in the game. Plus, in case you haven't noticed, even girls who played R/B/Y still played as Red in a lot of cases. These are supposed to be diehard remakes, and there are a bunch of people who would actually flip out if they had to face someone else besides Red. And not in the good way. FireRed and LeafGreen weren't actually very succesful compared to their originals, and since Gold and Silver were so successful, they might be taking precautions. Plus, is ther really that much of a difference whether or not she's in the game? They didn't want to add, only replace, which is why Soul is taking the place of Kris and why Leaf isn't in there. Plus, beacause of how they made previous games, Leaf was kinda put in to avoid gender dicrimination lawsuits (you would be shocked at how many people would do that or actually did it during the Game Boy Color Generation).

Was this rant necessary? No, not really.
Does it make a point? Yes, I think it does.

Oh, and whoever started the Mario-Red thinmg, don't bring it up anymore.

Female players who took part in the original RBY played as Red because he was the only available protagonist available in the game. The first female protagonist didn't come out until second generation, Crystal version, which is who we know as Kris. Also, HeartGold and SoulSilver hold more than just the Extreme Speed Dratini from Crystal, but also the side plot including Suicune and Eugine.

Though, like you said the game was basically sticking to its original status, that being Red placed back within the game and also the initial ending of the game, until later game play. So, Leaf being not included isn't much of a big deal as some may think it may be, and she might not have been needed in the first place. Would things have changed drastically if her appearance had been made? Possibly, depending on the situation, but more than likely not. So, I wouldn't take Leaf not being included within the game hard to some, the game is still great as it is.

Could it have been better? Of course, any game lurks its improvements, but where it stands now HGSS is a very highly wanted game by most and has exceptional ratings needless to say without the inclusion of Leaf or Kris for that matter.
 
Do you know what would be cool? If the trainer on Mt. Silver was Blue/Leaf or Red on Mt. Silver depending on what Pokemon game was in the GBA slot, the same way there are different pokemon that appear depending on what game is in the GBA slot.

What was it called again?

Oh yea, the "Dongle Method"? The "Dual-Slot Mode"?
 
I think it would have been nice for Leaf to be added in HGSS but I dont think its necessary. I know I will still want/enjoy the game when it comes out, in Canada :) I also think that Kris could have been added in as well. But oh well like others said its not a remake of Crystal.
