Pokemon Transformation- (PG-15)

With a final effort, Barry trudged along the shore and eventually collapsed, spurting out water,

"Swimming..." he said panting, "was never this hard. Damn this figure!"

As he lay there, a few things began to sink in. True, he would joke around about things, but come on - none of this was familiar. Nor physically possible for that matter. On one hand, he was scared. Very scared. What if all his family and friends back home thought he was dead? He didn't even know himself what country he ended up in. On the other hand, it wasn't too shabby. If it was all a wierd dream, then it was a nice one. It felt good to be relieved from the stress of the real world.

"Wait a minute, wait a minute!" he said aloud interrupting his thoughts, "If this isn't stress then I don't know what is. I need to find out what concoction of biology I am. And where the hell I ended up..." he surveyed the beach once more. All he could see was a lush forest standing further inland. Back out to see, there was nothing atop the shimmering horizon.

"And how do I get home...?"

He took a deep breath - and then savoured it. What on earth was that gorgeous, delicious smell? Closing his eyes and following his nostrils, Barry crawled along the golden sand and came to rest at blue object the size of an apple. Picking it up, he realised it was a berry. He wasn't one for scoffing berries, but it smelled so good.

"Nom." he said as he threw the berry in his mouth. What happened was strange - he didn't use his teeth to chew it, instead he just swallowed the thing whole. It felt totally natural, and also more satisfying. Barry could feel the taste and goodness burst inside him and give him a new lease of life,

"Oh, my, god!" he said emotionally, "That is the single most tastiest piece of fruit I've ever had! must have more..."

Suddenly moving with feet quicker than a riverdancer's, Barry prowled along the beach in search of the luxurious blue treat. Gasping as he saw another snugly sitting in the sand, he ran and dived on it, throwing it down the hatch and licking his lips. It was so good...

He never expected to see what he did next however. Inbetween himself and the water were two more creatures. One was a Pikachu, and the other was a Meowth. Barry half expected Team Rocket and Ash to appear next. What the hell were pokemon doing here? Wasn't that, for kids and stuff? After Red version Barry never touched the games again, but anyone could recognize Pika and Meowth.

"Wait a second..." he mumbled, "does that mean I'm..." He surveyed his body again,

"No. I can't be. I've never seen this one before..." He faced the headphone wearing mouse and the cat,

"...can either of you two tell me what's going on? Or where I am at least..."

(OOC: I'll join the other RPers. No point in 8 different fanfics :P)

"No, no, no, NO! This can't be happening! I can't be a Pokemon! This is impossible!" Jake yelled, and splashed himself with water, hoping to wake himself up. All the water did was give him a minor stinging sensation, and he quickly backed away. "Goddamn water, why does it sting!?" Jake yelled again, but didn't dare try to splash himself again. Why am I even in this nightmare? Jake thought to himself. Wait a minute, if I'm a Pokemon, then that means that I can use a Pokemon's abilities! Yeah, maybe I can shoot fire out of my mouth! That would be awesome...

Jake inhaled deeply, and breathed out as hard as he could, only half anticipating fire to come out. However, all he got was smoke, and a bad taste in his mouth. "GODDAMNIT!" Jake yelled, and then kicked a rock that happened to be next to him. "Ouch!" I can't even kick a rock without hurting myself? When will this dream end? Jake wondered, and then sat down in defeat. I can't do this, I wish that I would just wake up already... Jake sighed, then noticed that he was quite hungry. Well, I suppose that I better find something to eat. This isn't the first dream that I've had where I'm hungry. Wait, what's that smell...?

Jake stood up and began to walk towards the forest, where the delectable aroma was coming from. When he reached the forest, he stopped and sniffed. The scent was definitely from somewhere close. He looked up, and... Aha!

Up on the tree, there was a plentiful bounty of delicious-looking berries. Jake scrambled up the tree, and took a huge bite out of a berry. "Tish ish delishush!" Jake said, taking another bite. Eventually, Jake finished off the berry, and began to eat another. These are awesome! It's like sweet and spicy... spicy... Wait a minute, since when do I like spicy foods!?

Jake spit out the piece of berry he was eating, realizing that his taste buds were yet another thing that had changed about him. "Damn it!" Jake yelled again, and slammed his head against the tree. When he did that, he fell off the tree and slammed onto the ground on his back. In a strangely ironic way, a berry dropped from the tree and landed straight on his face.

Jake groaned, and stood up. His back seemed to be in pain, but at least he could move. He wiped the remains of the berry off of his face, and then licked a bit off his lips. It still tasted good. Damn it, why do these have to be so tasty? Suddenly, he noticed another figure on the beach. Maybe they can tell me something! "Hey!" Jake called out. "Over here! Do you have any idea where we are?" And then he ran over to the figure, licking the last of the berry's juices off of his fingertips.

((OOC: I'm leaving who Jake sees vague on purpose, so anyone can make contact with him. If you want, at least. Also, the berry he was eating was a Liechi berry.))

Brooklyn's forehead furrowed into a frown, she stared thoughtfully at her reflection as a nagging feeling tried to tell her why she looked so familiar, curiosity was slowly eating away at her as she continued to look at herself in the ocean, wondering where she saw this cat "It was some cartoon I used to watch when I was little, but I can't remember what it was! Digimon maybe? No, I'm not a Gatomon and I don't think Monster Rancher had cat characters, just Tiger, that wicked blue wolf."

Sighing in frustration, because she couldn't figure it out Brooklyn plopped down on her front paws, crossing one over the other, like she saw most cat's do back home, she rested her head on her paws and closed her eyes, tail swishing lazily back and forth "Mmm, this is kinda relaxing" she thought taking a deep breath, a plethora of smells invaded her senses, like the saltiness of the ocean and sand and her wet fur "but it feels kinda weird not having a nose" she thought, reaching up with a paw to brush at where her nose would've been. "Yeah, this isn't normal at all, but I guess I'll have to deal with it or find some answers. . ." Brooklyn glanced around for a bit before she felt herself yawn and her eyes began to droop slightly "but maybe after a little nap" she mumbled nuzzling her head onto her paws, the position was extremely comfortable in this form, her ears began to twitch and a lot of noises rushed in, she heard voices from high above her, the wind whistled gently between her ears, the loud crashing of the waves against the sandy beach, she even heard the soft swishing of her tail move back and forth.

Twitch.

Twitch.

Eyes still closed, Brooklyn frowned, she had an itch behind her ear and it was beginning to bug her. Reaching up with her paw, she moved to scratch it, but her paw barely managed to brush behind the tip of her ear, blinking she sat up, shifting all her weight on her back paws and tried it again, grunting when that didn't work, she tried to reach around with her other paw, but that failed and she wound up falling onto her side, sitting back on her haunches again, front paws planted firmly in the sand, she shook her head to get the sand out her ear and tried to figure out how she was going to scratch this itch, when suddenly as if on instinct, she lowered her head and her left hind leg reached up to scratch behind her ear.

Freezing mid scratch Brooklyn blinked slowly before her leg began to scratch again, a small shiver slithered down her spine, that felt good. Moaning in content, she continued to scratch at the itchy ear until it no longer bugged her anymore, shaking her head much like she saw cats back at home do once she was finished "Wow, if it felt good when I did it, it must feel heavenly when someone else scratches my ears!" A low hum escaped her throat and Brooklyn jumped, feeling it tickle her insides a bit "d-dude, did I just purr?!" Amber eyes widened as the noise came out again, but this time it wasn't as shocking and felt more natural, but why was she purring, and why did her side feel funny, glancing towards her left, she noticed her leg working instinctively again, this time it was relieving an itch from her side and her tail was swishing rhythmically back and forth.

That's why she was purring! "Okay, this is creepy yet cool at the same time"she mumbled trying to will her leg to stop, but it kept on scratching against her belly "Ok leg, stop it." It kept on moving mechanically "Seriously, enough!" It didn't stop. Brooklyn was becoming annoyed. "I said cut it out!" Her paw shot towards her left leg and held it down, quickly stopping its menstruation, she slowly released it and it didn't move Brook sighed happily in relief "finally."

Swish.

Swish.

Now her tail was moving back and forth in a robotic motion! Her eyes narrowed and she growled at the extra appendage, almost in understanding, her tail slowly began to stop moving, until it became still and curled slightly around her "That's what I thought" she murmured with a cheeky grin before moving back to her resting position, too bad she didn't get a chance to close her eyes, because an all to familiar yellow mouse came skidding to a halt in front of her, Brooklyn felt her eyes widen as she saw the mouse's lips move, but no sound came out.

"Oh My God Pikachu!" Realization suddenly hit her like a ton of bricks as memories of her childhood rushed back at her full force. Now she knew why this cat she had been turned into looked so familiar, it was the second most well known Pokémon after Ash's Ketchum's yellow furball and series mascot, the rival to Ash's Pikachu and most talkative member of the evil Team Rocket, she was a Meowth!

"I'm a Meowth!"

"I'm a freaking Pokémon!"

"Why have I been turned into a Pokémon?" She blinked at her own mental question, before looking up at the Pikachu who was still talking, she slowly raised herself back on her haunches and began to pay attention to what this Pikachu was saying, it didn't look like a regular Pikachu, well it did but Ash's Pikachu didn't have headphones, that looked like something she would see at home "Maybe this Pikachu is like me. . ."

Her ears twitched once and she was suddenly aware with what the mouse was saying, it sounded male, so she guessed that it was a he. "Uh… So, yeah. Could you point me in the direction of the nearest town or something?" Brooklyn blinked, feeling a bit lost because she didn't catch what he said before this question, tilting her head slightly to the side, her eyebrows furrowed in discomfort "Uhh, umm I'm sorry, but I have no clue where a town is, let alone where I am. I sorta just woke up from here. . ." she looked away feeling a bit bad because she couldn't help, her ears conveyed how she felt because they began to pull back slightly against her head.

However, before the Pikachu could respond a weird green blob, that instantly reminded her of some sort of Snorlax cousin, only smaller, appeared before them, it was covered in teal fur, with bits of creamish tan, mostly its feet and the lower half of its mouth, sticking out, it was slightly taller than the both of them, so Brooklyn had to crane her head slightly to look at him, but his question that shortly came after his appearance made her wonder just what in the world was going on.

"...can either of you two tell me what's going on? Or where I am at least..."

Several minutes passed in silence as Kassie allowed the knowledge to sink in. Beyond feasible physics, her physical form had been contorted, not only into another life form completely, but a life form that until today she was sure did not exist. It was common consensus among the human race that Pokemon was a franchise copyrighted by Nintendo, in place simply for entertainment purposes. The little elemental monsters did not exist in any shape or form anywhere.

…apparently that assumption had been wrong. Disdainfully Kassie wiggled her new appendages in an effort to figure out how to move them. Her ears were quite different from what she had expected. As a human she had never had the capability to wiggle her ears, as some people did. But now she could turn them about 180 degrees, prick them forward, and flatten them against her head. Her hands felt horribly useless, now that she didn't have thumbs. The closest thing she had to fingers were the three stubby claws on her paws, but she highly doubted that they would be much good for anything. Though she had been short as a human, her legs had been long, so it seemed a travesty that she should have such stubby legs now. Worse than that, they felt clumsy, almost as though they weren't meant to be used for walking at all. More alien than anything else, however, was her tail. Long and fairly muscular, Kassie swished it experimentally, far from amused by it. There was no doubt in her mind that it would be the culprit for many falls in the near future.

But next to all of the negative, Kassie raised her voice in another squeak, and found that with some effort she could form words. Having never spoken before, it was somewhat difficult for her to move her mouth in such a way to make the sounds she wanted, but she had the basic idea. For practice, she focused on one object at a time, first the sand. "Y-yellow," she began, stuttering a little as she tried to figure it out. "Grains. W-w-warm. Sandy. Wet." Though it came with difficulty, Kassie felt a sudden euphoria over being able to speak for the first time in her life. Despite her horror over what she had become there was, as always in life, a silver lining.

Now that she had figured out how to work her new body, Kassie was ravaged by hunger. Strangely she wasn't the least bit thirsty, but food was another thing entirely. The thought occurred to her, what exactly did she eat? Experimentally she began to think of all sorts of foods in search of one that appealed to her. Fruits were no go, neither were vegetables or grasses. Meat sounded fairly good, but she recoiled in fear from the thought of what she was used to. Surely there was no way she would be able to find bacon or steak nearby. It dawned on her that there might be something she ought to try. Tentatively she thought about bugs, and instantaneously her mouth began to water and her ears began to tune in on the nearby underbrush. Though her humanity rebelled at the thought of consuming insects, she couldn't deny that it would be a bad idea to eat something that her body couldn't metabolize. For now, it would be better to go with her instincts.

Slowly, so as not to frighten the bugs Kassie stalked nearer to the vegetation away from the shoreline. Taking in a deep breath, she was surprised by the wealth of aromas that met her. Her head turned automatically in the direction of a particularly interesting scent and her eyes tuned in on a little beige thing, about eight inches shorter than herself with a large red nose, a segmented body, a large horn on its head, and a smaller claw like horn on its tail. As far as Kassie could tell it was the sort of insect she would find here, so she sneaked nearer, ears twitching excitedly. When she was near enough she pounced and grasped it between her two front paws. It wriggled and chirped angrily, trying to stab her with its tail. She held it fast and stared at it, trying to figure out how to eat it. Just when she was about to take the first bite into its middle segment there was a sudden buzzing sound. Kassie looked up and squealed, for a large wasp-like creature was flying toward her brandishing stinger-tipped forearms. Without a second thought she dropped the beige worm and scurried back in the direction of the beach, not daring to look back over her shoulder. Sand flew up on either side of her as she fled, but the surf loomed ahead of her and she stopped dead in her tracks. She whirled around and was horrified to discover that the bee-like creature was still pursuing her.

Relying purely on instinct she hissed loudly and swiped her claws at the bee. It buzzed angrily and began to stab its stingers in her direction. Panicking, Kassie curled into a ball again, allowing her hard back to absorb the impacts. After several minutes the bee got bored and buzzed off, to her great relief. Slowly she uncurled and stood, her heart beating a mile a minute. Right about then she heard a voice, and so turned her attention to a teal and yellow rodent hurrying in her direction. He didn't seem dangerous, but she cringed a little nonetheless. "No," she said slowly, carefully enunciating each word. "I don't know where we are."

"Uhh, umm I'm sorry, but I have no clue where a town is, let alone where I am. I sorta just woke up from here. . ." The cat also looked away. Chris heaved a sigh. Yeah, he didn't get an answer, but at least he wasn't dinner either. Come to think of it, the cat didn't even seem interested in eating a mouse like himself… at least now. Chris paused for a moment. He was thinking of himself as a Pikachu now, that couldn't be good. Another smell suddenly filled the air, different from the smell of his wet fur or that of the cat in front of him. He instinctively put his muzzle and nose into the air, trying to pinpoint the smell.

"No. I can't be. I've never seen this one before..."

Chris rapidly turned to the voice, stopping what he was doing… only to see some sort of monster. It was coved in teal fur, with bits of tan strewn in. Its lower half of its mouth was slightly larger, giving the creature an even stranger appearance. Instinctively but unbeknownst to Chris, static began to flow over his body in preparation for the worst.

"...can either of you two tell me what's going on? Or where I am at least..."

Chris stared at the creature, momentarily confused. Static still popped and crackled as he stared. Things insignificant came into clarity. The waves lapping at the shore, the sound of leaves rustling in the forest. But before he made a move, the reason inside of him took center stage. The teal creature didn't seem hostile, it didn't even do anything. Heck, if it was, then it would've already eaten/mauled/devoured him and the cat already (seeing as it snuck up on them). The static began to dissipate. He would have to trust the monster (him?). He had no one else to.

"Man…" Chris sighed, running a paw over the top of his head and sticking up the fur on in between his ears. "I don't know. I woke up on this beach, coughed up a gallon of water, found out I was a Pikachu, and ended up here." He shrugged, his lightning-bolt shaped tail swaying slightly side to side. "It's one crazy dream, that's for sure."

After all, dreams are real until you wake up, right?

The Pikachu gazed towards the ocean, tail becoming still, watching the endless sea of blue. He used a paw to adjust the headphones sitting around his neck. "I'm Chris, by the way. Chris Eaton."

"Grumble" that was the sound of Beo's stomach as he began to realize he hadn't eaten in god knows how long. So with that he began to leave the beach area and head towards the forest just up the shore line a bit. Still he had not one slightest idea of how he ended up like this.

"Maybe I slipped into a coma from that flash that came from the box, or maybe I died and this is just my minds way of getting me over the things I've done in my past... Maybe this is purgatory" Beo thought to himself for moments while continuing towards the forest. He was so deep into his thoughts that he didn't even hear the shouts and screams of other pokemon on the beach.

Before long Beo had come to find himself standing in the middle of some trees and a bushes. It was actually quite a beautiful sight he thought for a moment, as there were also berries located on several of the bushes.

"Ok so I guess it wouldn't hurt if I took a break from figuring everything out and just grab a bite to eat" Beo stated aloud as he reached for what he thought was a red berry.

"AHHHHH" A raspy voice shouted from behind the bush as Beo alarmingly let go of the berry and to his surprise a strange gray and black dog looking creature jumped from out from the bush.

"Oh i'm sorry I thought your nose was a berry" Beo said to the dog slowly starting to calm down a bit after being shaken up.

"Isn't that just adorable, a little Machop trying to pull a fast one on me. What do you think because i'm a poochyena i'm stupid???" Poochyena barked back at Beo.

"No that's not whats... wait a minute your name Poochyena? haha that's pretty funny" Beo laughed before putting a serious face back on. "But honestly I was just really hungry and I thought your nose was a berry I swear".

"I don't believe!" Poochyena shouted before lunging straight at Beo tackling him into the grass. Beo thrust his arms upward throwing poochyena off of him and then jumped to his feet.

"Fine you want to fight I guess I have no choice... to bad I was a state place winner in wrestling at my high school!" Beo shouted as he charged at the Poochyena who stood firm in it's place.

"High school? Wrestling?" Poochyena said a little confused at those words. As Beo closed in he found that his body had some ideas of it's own as he swiftly swung his left leg into the chin of the poochyena causing it to fly backwards into a tree which also made a few berries fall from it.

"Hmph... this isn't the last you've seen of me, i'll be back you wait and see!" Poochyena shouted before taking off into the bushes.

"Well that was odd... ether way I learned two things from this, one check all berries before hand, and two Poochyena's are not friendly" Beo grinned walking over towards the fallen berries as he began to eat a few of them. He also realized that the reason he kicked Poochyena was because pokemon have a set move list and can only use those moves.

"Wait a minute here comes another wild pokemon.." Beo stated putting down the last berry and readying himself for another fight as another dog looking pokemon approached him, only this one was different it was red with black stripes. "Friend or foe" Beo whispered to himself.

He sat there in deep thought, and surprisingly it was more about the weird situation he was in than anything.

"Well, it comes to this," he said to himself, "I can choose from a few options. I can mope around and get nowhere. I can find out what happened to me and reverse this, that is if I want to go back to my normal life. Or I can find out what happened but stay this way." Then his stomach growled, "But I'll give myself some time to think about it and find some food."

He sat up awkwardly and started to walk on all fours, which was weird. He wasn't used to walking on all fours. He wobbled a bit, but then he found that it came easier the more he didn't think of it, like an instinct thing. As he walked he sniffed the air and smelled something, it was weird, because he knew smelled another dog. And he instantly started to growl, until he abruptly stopped.

"I'm growling like a dog, like some kind of animal." Then he noticed the smell of the other dog getting farther away, and he felt better, although he didn't want to because this was caused by instinct.

"People already look down on me," he thought out loud, "I don't want to start giving into instinct, which would just freak people out." Then he noticed another smell, although he couldn't tell what it was. He could see a grayish blue figure and couldn't make out what it was. Then when he was in front of the weird blue short man, he wondered what he was, which again led to a question of what HE was. And things didn't look to nice, since the being was in a fighting pose. He jumped a little and looked down, partly as a sign of peace, and partly cause of his eyes.

"Um… Uh… I was wondering if, uh, do you know where we are? Or can you tell me what I am?" He said, embarrassed that he only knew that he was some kind of a dog and was completely lost. His stomach grumbled, "And if it's not too much to ask, can you tell me where I can get some food?"

"Man…" said the Pikachu, "I don't know. I woke up on this beach, coughed up a gallon of water, found out I was a Pikachu, and ended up here. It's one crazy dream, that's for sure."

Barry blinked. What were the chances.

"I'm Chris, by the way. Chris Eaton."

"Well Chris, you can call me Barry," Barry replied slumping down on his backside, "And would you believe me if I said the exact same thing happened to me? I'm in my house, then boom. In a box on a boat. I wake up on this beach and here we are."

He looked out to the sea too,

"But this is no dream." He said, "Everything's too real..."

Barry hung his head and began to sniff slightly, "I was just looking forward... to a nice bit of bacon this morning. Now the house is probably on fire or something."

Finally the strange dog approached Beo, he readied his fist and planted his feet into the ground for another low kick attack. Suddenly the creature spoke out in a calmer voice then the Poocyhena had, and Beo lowered his fist."Um… Uh… I was wondering if, uh, do you know where we are? Or can you tell me what I am?" The dog said, he seemed to be a bit nervous "And if it's not too much to ask, can you tell me where I can get some food?"

"Well it seems were pokemon.... But you want my honest answer kid... I have no idea what this place is, i'm still hoping it's a dream. But for some reason my mind is pointing towards purgatory, you know the place you go when your dead but have some unfinished things to do" Beo replied as he turned his head towards the sky wishing he'd wake up already. He then turned around and picked up the last berry he had left and walked it over to the dog.

"Here you can have my last one, the names Beo by the way" he said handing over the berry with a smile, he could never resist the urge to help someone else that was for sure.

Gwen wasn't sure how much more she could take of this. After a good five minutes of examining her entire body and the surrounding area, she still had no clue as to what she should do. If she was dead, it didn't matter what she did, did it? But if she wasn't dead, her chances of ever seeing her family again (which seemed diminished enough as it was) would take a serious dive if she decided to do something too risky.

You're going to have to do something eventually.

She stood from the sitting position she'd been contemplating in, and shuffled forward a few feet. The water washing up behind her on the beach made a threatening crashing sound, but all she wanted to do was dive in and swim forever. Forget everything that was troubling her-- the water would soothe her and make it all go away. She just knew it.

Gwen stepped towards the water, feeling her foot splash down in the cool surf. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes, and all at once dove in. Her body wiggled with a force that propelled her forward at a frightening speed. Gwen kept her eyes closed, but could feel the water passing over her, and could feel her body pulsing in an instinctive motion, pushing forward in a ripple that flowed from her new beak to the end of her new tailfeathers.

When she angled her body upward and finally broke the surface, she opened her eyes. Gwen gasped-- the shore was almost gone now! She began to wiggle back towards land, keeping her head above water so she could see the shore coming back into focus. She could see a small forest father back, but closer to the water she saw something that surprised her. Two small bodies stood on the sand. One was a small black creature with red spots, and the other appeared to be a dark yellow blob on the sand. They seemed to be talking and Gwen all at once directed her swimming straight towards him.

She shimmied up onto the sand on her stomach and stood, walking over to the creatures slowly.

"Piplup?" she quietly chirped.

Hello?

She really hoped they would understand her.

Jake rushed up to the other... Pokemon, at least he thought it was a Pokemon. "No," The Pokemon said, "I don't know where we are." Jake noticed that she carefully enunciated every word.

"Well, I guess that makes two of us." Jake sighed. He was getting into a habit of sighing, but could you blame him? After all, he had been transformed into a Pokemon, stuck in some strange location, and then been given weird mannerisms that were nothing like his own. That, and he had found out that those berries were delicious. Jake suddenly cringed, as his back gave a small ache. "Ow," He said, and then immediately after said, "Nothing to worry about. I just fell out of a tree. Oh, I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm Jake. Jake Delamond." Jake heard his stomach growl again, and realized that somehow, he was still hungry.

"I'll be right back." Jake said, and dashed back to the berry tree. Looking back to make sure that the Pokemon was still there, he picked up a few berries and walked back to the Pokemon. "I never caught your name. What is it?" Jake asked, and then stuffed part of a berry in his mouth. He thought for a second, and then handed a berry to the Pokemon. "You want one?" He asked.

Kassie tilted her head, glad to know that she wasn't the only one feeling out of place at the moment. She wasn't sure what to do now that she knew others were lost too, but she sincerely hoped that would come with time. She gave him an odd look, the Sandshrew equivalent of a furrowed brow. Falling out of a tree generally wasn't something to be casually brushed off, but she wasn't going to question him.

"Kassie Ainslie," she answered, just as slowly and carefully as before. It felt somehow strange to say her own name, something she'd never done before. As it turned out Kassie was easy to say, but Ainslie was not. She never would have known.

With her newly sensitive hearing Kassie heard Jake's stomach growl, which reminded her that she was also hungry. She watched him enviously as he scrambled off to collect several berries, and bring them back. She smiled shyly and accepted one, sniffing it slowly. Her stomach didn't growl as enthusiastically as it had when she faced the prospect of an insect, but at the same time the creamy yellow and red berry looked good. Tentatively, she took a small bite. Immediately the spicy taste flooded her mouth. She'd never been much for spicy food as a human, but as it turned out as a Pokemon she didn't mind it. In fact, it was fantastic at the moment. She began to nibble at it more quickly and found that her new teeth were well suited for crunching through the berry's firm flesh. Her eyes half-closed in ecstasy, she finished the berry and licked her lips, her tail swishing happily.

"Thank you. I was famished," she said shyly.

[OOC: I didn't read correctly. :P I meant to be talking to Grishnax, but i didn't realize he'd fallen out of the tree and was talking to Strikit, so now I am going to interrupt you two. :D ]

It seemed they hadn't heard her. She took another step, but the spotted creature made a dash for the forest all at once, running back with a large bunch of fruit in its arms. What happened next startled Gwen.

Holding a fruit out to the yellow one, which looked seriously familiar, it spoke!

"You want one?"

Gwen's eyes opened wide, because that had not been what she heard. What she heard had been a series of high pitched squeals, formulating around a few key words: "cyn" and "quil." But she'd understood it. It was odd, but she figured it was like when she'd learned Spanish in high school. The word "helado," was what the teacher had said, but what Gwen had heard was "ice cream." It just so happened that she understood this creatures language.

She looked up, stepping a few inches closer, and the profile of the yellow creature came into view. It was the she realized why it had seemed so familiar.

It's a sandslash! she thought to herself, remembering the days of ol in which she and Jessie had memorized all the names. So she was right-- these were pokemon, and she was one of them.

The sandslash then spoke as well.

"Kassie Ainslie" it said simply, taking a long time to pronunciatiate the "slashes" and "sands" coming out her muzzle, "Thank you."

They both seemed calm, and so Gwen got the notion that perhaps they could be of help to her-- especially since she could understand them.

"Hey!" Gwen said, loudly this time and a bit frantic, hoping they would understand her like she'd understood them. "Can you understand me? What's going on?! Where are we?!"

"Well it seems were Pokémon...." Pokémon? He thought. Like Pikachu? The more he thought the more he remembered kids that where into it. That was a Nintendo franchise, actually that was the only game he didn't play that was made by Nintendo. And he said that it seems were Pokémon, does that mean he was like Keaton? A human turned Pokémon? "But you want my honest answer kid... I have no idea what this place is; I'm still hoping it's a dream. But for some reason my mind is pointing towards purgatory, you know the place you go when you're dead but have some unfinished things to do" Dead? He didn't think he was dead, plus he didn't believe in purgatory.

The Pokémon, or human (?), turned around and picked up a berry sitting beside him. He reached out and offered Keaton the berry, "Here you can have my last one, the names Beo by the way" He stared blankly at the berry, he felt awkward and embarrassed, first he had no idea what he was, now he has no hands and can't take the berry. His momentary freeze ended when he reached his head out and took the berry with his mouth and started to chew. He felt so, weird. He started to think as he looked at the ground. So was Beo like him? Transformed into a Pokémon? Did he also get a black box? He was already too embarrassed to ask.

Unfortunately, half of the berry fell to the ground, on account of the bad grip he had on the berry. He really didn't want to waste the berry but it felt weird as he reached his head down and ate the res t of the berry off the ground. He figured at this point Beo already thought he was just some weirdo and didn't want to associate with him. So he decided to ask the question, "Um… So since you said that you are hoping this is a dream, are you also supposed to be a human?" He asked, almost half expecting Beo to send back a funny look and say no.

"Hey!" Jake heard another Pokemon yell, walking towards them. This one looked like a penguin. "Can you understand me? What's going on?! Where are we?!" She looked frantic. Jake sighed again, this was going to be a long, long, long day.

"Calm down. Seriously, this is ridiculous. Yes, we can understand you. Big deal. As for what's going on, let's get our facts straight." He looked at Kassie and the penguin. "Here's what I know. I'm a Pokemon, and I used to be human. I was on a ship in a crate, then I landed here. I found some berries in the forest, and found out that my tastes (as well as my mannerisms) had changed. I fell out of a tree and hurt my back," Jake winced as he said this, "And then I met up with you two, who apparently don't know where we are either."

Jake finished his speech, and sat down, chewing absentmindedly on a berry. "Anyways, I have three questions for you. What's your name, were you a human, and do you want a berry?"

((OOC: Sorry for the short post, I couldn't really think of much to say in this situation.))

Both the Pikachu and the. . . whatever it was, introduced themselves as Chris and Barry respectively and once they explained how they got here, Brooklyn's eyes widened "That's the same thing that happened to me! I was just coming home from school and I got this weird package, then next thing I know I'm in a box during a storm, then I sorta just blacked out. I woke up here on the beach after that. . ." she trailed off thoughtfully before looking at the two boys "I'm Brooklyn by the way, Brooklyn Harrison."

Barry and Chris had assumed this a dream, but Brooklyn had a sinking feeling that it wast, her dreams were never this clear or interactive and then Barry murmured something about bacon and Brooklyn heard her stomach growl instantly, shifting her eyes down to her cream colored torso she absently rubbed at her tummy with one paw and glanced at the other two "I just remembered, I didn't get any lunch after school. . . I'm hungry" she groused slightly "What do Pokémon eat?" Her gaze instantly shifted to Chris, he was a mouse and she was a cat "Cats eat mice right. . . but eating a mouse with yellow fur doesn't sound pleasing at all" she lowered her glasses covered eyes in slight disgust and looked out to the ocean, there had to be something around here to eat.

Beo watched as the pokemon in front of him seemed to be pondering what he just said, it also seemed he was feeling a bit uneasy and nervous about something. Finally he took the berry from his hand and began to chew on it, unfortunatly he dropped half of it to the ground Beo chuckled a bit at the sight, he figured he was adjusting to the being a pokemon as well as him, and then he asked the question Beo figured was coming all along.

"Um… So since you said that you are hoping this is a dream, are you also supposed to be a human?" he asked, as Beo sighed finally realizing he wasn't just the only one.

"Yes, I was a human up until what may have been a few hours ago not really sure at this point, all I know is I received some strange package and the light from it knocked me unconscious, I was actually hoping it was just a prank from my teammates until I woke up on this beach" Beo said before sitting down against the tree the berries had fallen from and looked up at the sky.

"I just wish I had an easy answer for this, i've always been able to answer everything in my life with a simple scientific answer... but not this" he said rubbing the scar under his left eye once again. "I wonder... if me and you were both humans, maybe there are more like us?"

Big Deal? Big deal?!

Gwen bristled. How could this thing be so sarcastic? They were pokemon now, and for God knows how much longer. The fact that they could understand each other was more than a big ol sarcastic deal-- it was a borderline miracle on top of all the other things that had occurred in the last few hours. She felt the feathers on her head rising in response to her agitation.

The thing plopped down, not seeming to care at all that he'd upset her, and shoved another berry into its face. He gnawed on it before continuing to talk in that high-pitched tone that was already starting to grind Gwen's nerves.

"Anyways, I have three questions for you. What's your name, were you a human, and do you want a berry?"

So blunt. If Gwen had had teeth, she'd have been grinding them together just then. This kid was just like a certain boyfriend of her roomate-- blunt, uncaring, and evidently just fine with all of that.

"Gwen," she squawked at him, perhaps a little louder than she'd intended. "Yes I was a human, and no I don't want a berry."

She was angry, but she already felt it fading-- though she wasn't sure how long that would last when that thing opened its mouth again. Nevertheless, she didn't want to leave the two creatures she'd found that could actually talk to her. Her solution was to turn and face the sandslash for a reply. Not only did she know what it was, but it hadn't majorly offended her as of yet.

Kassie backed up somewhat as conversation commenced between Jake and a little blue penguin that was apparently named Gwen. How it was possible that there were so many others with the same affliction as herself, she didn't know. Her main concern was that she was lost, in a body not her own, and nothing was like it should be. She would have sworn that she could smell the sand, and Jake and Gwen both had a different scent that she instinctively knew belonged only to their species, Jake's, a smoky aroma and Gwen, a clean, bubbly scent. Beyond that, her eyesight wasn't as good as it was in her human body. Up close, everything was perfect. But she couldn't see as well for as far as she remembered. It was disconcerting to say the least.

When Gwen declined the berry, Kassie's ears pricked forward and her tail swished slightly. "I-I want a berry," she said softly. In her shyness she stuttered yet again, which made her cringe inwardly. But she wasn't about to stop speaking just because sometimes it was hard to get a word out.

Suddenly, almost completely involuntarily, she began to rub her face and ears with her paws in the common fashion of mice and such. When she stopped she straightened up, blushing. It was slightly embarrassing to begin to suddenly to bathe herself in front of everybody. It was something she would most definitely have to learn to control, just like the stutters in her speech and the craving for bugs.

"Well Chris, you can call me Barry," The green... thing replied, slumping down on his backside, "And would you believe me if I said the exact same thing happened to me? I'm in my house, then boom. In a box on a boat. I wake up on this beach and here we are."

"But this is no dream." Barry said, looking out to the sea as well. "Everything's too real..."

Barry lowered his head and began to sniff slightly. "I was just looking forward... to a nice bit of bacon this morning. Now the house is probably on fire or something."

Hold on… was he crying over bacon or his home? Chris paused for a moment, giving the green blob a quizzical look, cocking his head sideways and thinking about the awkward moment back on the boat. "Wait… You weren't…" Chris murmured, hesitating temporarily before continuing. "Nevermind."

He glanced back out to the sea. He had no idea where he was right now. . A cool breeze whipped across him, ruffling his fur. Maybe Barry was right. As much as changing into a Pikachu seemed like a dream, it was all too real.

"That's the same thing that happened to me!" The cat next to the two exclaimed, diverting Chris' attention from the sea. "I was just coming home from school and I got this weird package, then next thing I know I'm in a box during a storm, then I sorta just blacked out. I woke up here on the beach after that. . ." she trailed off thoughtfully before looking at the two boys "I'm Brooklyn by the way, Brooklyn Harrison."

So, the same thing happened to the cat? Chris again glanced at the sea. It was all too weird and coincidental. The exact same thing happened to all three?

Chris's ears twitched, and folded back slightly as he heard Brooklyn's stomach growl. <As long as she doesn't have a craving for Ratatouille, I think I'll be ok.> He thought, staring at the cat and letting out a small smirk, forcing his ears back up. <Plus, I bet I could take her.>

"Come on, we should probably get something to eat." Chris glanced up and down the beach and then to the forest, his gaze finally settling on the ocean itself. "I'll bet we could catch some fish if we really tried." He grinned. Cats like fish more than mice, right?
