Hi, I'm Ida, and I'm the host for the Pokemon trivia questions! Here is how it is going to work.
Section one; pokemon abilities and moves trivia. I'll list some abilities or moves and you answer what pokenon can learn these moves or abilities!
Section two; Pokemon anime trivia. I'll list some questions from all the seasons of the anime, and if you answer them right, you get points.
Pokemon Game trivia; I'll list some questions from all the main series and some side games, and you get to answer them.
Pokemon Japanese titles; I'll list some pokemon, and you say what they are in Japanese! An example is how Rockruff in Japan is Iwanko.
Pokemon design trivia; I'll list some Pokemon, and you answer what the designs of them were based on.
Is this going good, or if not, what should I improve?

Hi there! So I have some questions, if you don't mind me asking. :)

How exactly do you plan on laying the event out? Will each category have a question each day, or will one category run for x amount of days? Keep in mind that the event is two whole weeks.

I see in your second section you list a points sytem, but not for the others. Will each section have points awarded to all participants, or are the points for just the second section? Also, if points are for all sections, will they be a complete running total through the whole event?

And finally, in regards to section one, how is that going to work? I can see that one not working out honestly because it's broad and vague (as x amount of Pokémon can learn move y, or have ability y). If points were to be earned here, I think it'd be unfair to players because then some could come out on top over others; I think you might want to be as fair as possible here and set a limit on how many can be named, or do multiple choice!

Also, how do you plan to enforce looking up of information? Are you gonna mention like no looking it up or are you fine with participants to use sources such as Bulbapedia and/or Serebii to submit answers?

I'll have each section for a certain time before I start the next one. Each section has points, and you get points for correct answers. I might use the multiple choice answers for section one if I do it. Thanks for the help, it means a lot!

Another good thing I'd suggest is splitting the questions into different sections of Pokemon media, such as one section for the games, one for the anime, TCG etc. It would be diverse to have different aspects of the franchise covered and would make it more interesting.

I would prefer information to not be looked up, but there isn't really any assurance anyone would follow the rule.

It's hard not to look up, considering how big the internet is. But I will give credit for you attempting to make it a real challenge by having people need to guess it in their head.

A mention of it in your event OP would probably defer it, but also if you notice there's anybody who has a majority of correct answers in comparison to others, then maybe right then you could suspect cheating.

Agreeing with Josh as well on coming up with questions/answers that are mostly difficult to come up with answers to on the internet.

    What does this event involve?

Hello, welcome to Pokemon Trivia! You will have 72 hours from the time this thread is posted to sign up to Pokemon Trivia.

To sign up just simply post that you want to play! As long as you get one answer right you will get 1 point for that day. :)

I will be sending the questions (via Private Message) within four hours of the below timezones.

    London - 11:30 AM
    Auckland - 10:30 PM
    Dubai - 2:30 PM
    New York - 6:30 AM
    Tokyo - 7:30 PM
    San Francisco - 3:30 AM
    Dallas - 5:30 AM
    Denver - 4:30 AM
    Sydney - 8:30 PM

The person that replies to the private message with the fastest response time (and all CORRECT answers) will win that day and get the maximum amount of points (10). Second place will get 7 points and third place will get 5 points. Everyone who participates within that 24 hours will get 1 point.

Make sure you are 100% sure of your answers - you can only send me a Private Message once per day (any messages after that won't count) so that way it's a little fairer to the people in different timezones.

It is advised you don't Google your answers.
