Well, it's obvious that it's a naming pattern. My point is that I can't stand naming patterns as soon as they exceed a certain limit. Pok?dex, Pok?nav, Pok?gear, OK, but the little that I've seen of Digimon has been like Pok?mon with "Digi" or "Mon" stuck at the beginning/end of everything. It's just annoying.
 
Am I the only one who likes both equally and wishes they both woudl share a high level of popularity? :\
 
it should be noted that some things beginning with 'digi' were only like that in the dub. For example, the "Digidestined" are just "Chosen Children", "Digi-modify" was originally called "Card Slash". "Digivolving" was just normal evolving ("Agumon shinka....Greymon!" instead of "Agumon digivolve to...Greymon!"), but interestingly enough, they kept "Spirit Evolution" in the dub of Frontier. Also, all the jokes with 'digi' in it, such as Tentomon saying he wants his "digimommy" and such, well, it's only obvious those weren't present in the original. Though, yeah, a lot of things do start with 'digi' in either version, but I don't see why it should bother you so much. If anything, naming patterns just makes things easier to remember.
