"I for one do not need the power for myself. I just want to make sure it goes into the right hands." I pause a moment to pick the right words. "That is to say it won't end up with someone who will abuse it and harm the innocent with it."

"What are they mumbling about?" Duc asked the Electrike-like girl.

He heard the group that was approaching that all of them had weapons of some sort. Great, am I the only unarmed one around here? he thought.

He then heard of something about a power. "Power? What kind of power are they talking about?" Duc's head was quickly filling with questions, and like his mocked name, he's starting to be confused like a Psyduck.

Who's to say it WILL end up in the right hands? Willis asked himself.
Suddenly, he heard a voice not to far away. He reached for his katana and said, "Someone is spying on us..." Completely unsheathing his weapon, he shouted, "Show yourself!" He waited for a response. "Who knows who it could be, so brace yourselves," he told his companions.

OOC: Spying? Me and Alana had our characters on the path!

IC: Duc heard a weapon unsheath. It nearly freaked him out since he had no other weapon besides his gauntlet ready. Just in case he had time, his left hand was firmly on his Pok?ball.

Knowing that the group could easily overtake him, and maybe Ruki, he talked loudly, but firmly. "We don't mean any trouble! Please put away the weapons." he said at the same time he was stepping out from the trees along the pathway. He scolded himself silently as those were a pretty bad choice of words to say.

Ruki looked at the boy curiously. She had expected the answer that he wasn't around here. But where was he from? She didn't get a chance ot answer becasue some one nearby had unsheathed a sword. Her hand flew to the handle of her masamune. She looked at the pokeball in the boys hand confused. But she didn't have time ot think about that. She nodded to what he had said and stepped forward so she could see who was there. "He speaks the truth." She said calmly. "Please put away your weapon. We do not wish to fight."

And I thought I was jumpy! I thought. Chuckling, I reply, "I think our posse has gained yet more deputies." I don't think there is a need for me to pull out the blades, and I remain relaxed.

"Pardon us if we startled you," Willis apologized, "but it's best to be on guard." He placed his katana back in its sheath and looked at the two. "If you are sure you want to join to join us, then be our guest." Then, changing his tone, he said, "That is, if you trust us."

Trust? That guy almost attacked us! Duc thought. Eh, like I'll have any better luck trusting anybody else around here... He relaxed his hand off the Pok?ball.

"Sure, I'll join." He said, a little shaken up by the suprise. He looked at the group that had followed the long fingered fellow. They were also not exactly human, but they weren't exactly Pok?mon either. Duc couldn't help but have a confused look on his face.

"Just where is this place?" Duc was somewhat suprised that they weren't jumpy at the appearence of a human like he is to them.

With a slight grin on his face, Willis replied, "I'm positive that you are not from this world." Seeing the confusion on this person's face, Willis sighed and explained, "I have read books about another dimension where humans inhabit. Our dimension is populated with half-human, half-pokemon creatures. As scary as it may seem to you, you are the first human to have crossed over here and the only person in this world currently." Then, feeling a tad embarassed by not introducing himself earlier, he said, "Pardon! Allow me to introduce us! My name is Willis. My companions are Rey, Shendra, and Raven. What are your and your friend's names?"

Ruki smiled. "I am Ruki." She had alrady taken her hand off her masamune. "I guess you're looking for the power too. Seems like a popular quest right now judging by how many people are looking for it." She turned to look at the full human. "I've heard of other diminsions too but I wasn't sure I believed it. Now may not be the best time but I'd like to know about it. Is it any different from this place?"

A short, casual glance seemed to satisfy any curiosities Rey had regarding the newcomers. And, as such, he returned his gaze skyward. However, for a short moment he remained in place--pausing to listen to the conversation. Then, flicking his tail with a silent restlessness, he found himself resuming his interrupted walking before the converse had been completed.

I listen quietly. Since I am without sight, I didn't notice anything different about the stranger. It didn't really matter to me anyway, since outward appearances don't make the person who they are. One could look like a horrible monster and be the sweetest person ever, while someone who possesses awesome beauty could be the vilest creature ever born. I listen quietly while introductions are made, and notice Rey walking on ahead.

"Hi. My name's Duc." he said with confidence. "Nice to meet you all!" he said although he was a bit intimidated by how some of them looked...

Ruki rose a question that he never thought about. "Huh, the way I look at things from here, everything looks the same where I live at! Although, it looks like some of the buildings are a different style than I'm used to." He gazed at the buildings from afar.

Duc thought of what Willis said of him being the first human to be in this dimension. "Man, I don't think I'm actually completely human anymore..." he said to Willis. "Ya see this right arm of mine? Well, Team Rocket abducted me and did some kind of experiment on my arm. They didn't finish, though since I was rescued by somebody who had a Dragonite." He rubbed his bandaged arm, making sure not to tamper with the delicate fabric.

Before thinking too long, one of the group members started to leave already. "Hey, what's the rush?"

"Well I guess cause everyone hre has their own reason for wanting to get the power and I know I want to get to it as soon as possible." She followed Rey but stopped waitig for the Duc to catch up. She looked at his bandaged arm curiously. But she didn't ask.

I see no reason to stand around any longer. If the new acquaintances come along, they do. "Pleased to meet you both. Shall we go?" I ask pleasantly as I start walking.

Remaining silent, Rey dismissed Duc's question with a flick of the end of his tail. Keeping his gaze on the path ahead, though slightly tilted upward, he continued on at a fair pace. Despite his casual manner, each step was brisk and without delay. Though feeling no particular urge to rush, Rey neither saw any reason to linger at this location.

"Huh. Not much of a talker, guess..." Duc mumbled. He happily accepted the inventation that the group handed to him. While walking, he still had a question in his mind.

"Uh, could any of you guys tell me where I am? And what's with this power you guys seem to know about?

"This power," Willis started, "is, to us, an enigma. Rumor has it, however, that it can grant wishes or give the wielder strength. People are searching for it for various reasons, some more selfless than others. No one ever mentions who owns it currently, or if it even HAS an owner. In other words, you crossed over here during the big hunt."

Taking Duc's first into consideration, he says, "Where are you? To tell you the truth, we don't know ourselves. I suppose you can say it is an alternate reality to your own world. Although the crime syndicate Team Rocket doesn't exist here, there are a few faults in our world, like there are your's." With a bit of a chuckle, he adds, "The inhabitants here are different, too, as you can see. None of us here are completely human, although we're partially human."

"As you can probably tell," I add to Willis' statement, "we are a combination of pokemon and human. Pokemorphs is a common term." I felt for this stranger, being alone in a place alien to him. "Have you ever heard that term? Do any humans in your dimension have pokemon type powers? Or are pokemon and humans totally separate from one another?"

"You don't have to tell me twice!" Duc joked. These guys seemed nice enough to hang around.

Willis' description sparked Duc's interest. Maybe this rumored power could help him get back to normal...

...

Either that, or make his condition worse...

"Hmm... Well, I figure I have to be used for something. I don't like sitting around doin' nothing. Let's get going!"
