    My friend has a pokemon infected with Pokerus, what is it? He said it was good, but I don't belive him. So I want to know what it is before I judge it. SO what is Pokerus?
     
    Pokérus, the epic boost

    When I first got Pokérus, I too thought it was bad. However, your friend is correct in this case. Pokérus is an enhancing virus. In other words, the disease is actually a good thing! :D It's rare and started way back in Gold & Silver. When a Pokémon's status reads Pokérus, you can possibly infect your other party members with walking around, battling, etc. :D

    "After a Pokémon's immune system fights off the virus, it will still be able to gain double Effort Values permanently." (Which means, you get a huge boost for EV training) Aka stats grow twice as fast. :D

    Once a Pokémon is cured, they get a little smiley face, that shows they have successfully handled Pokérus. :) Once it's cured, it can't infect any other party members, so hopefully infect while you have it.

    A little about pokerus

    Pokerus is no doubt a VIRUS that a pokemon can get RANDOMELY!! But if a pokemon in ur party has it already it might spread. It helps ur pokemon grow better. If ur friend has it u better get a pokemon from him hu is infected with it fast or he might also lose it. If u dont want a pokemon of urs to get that little smiley face thing, and want it to have pokerus status so u can later on spread it among other pokemon, simply store the pokemon in ur pc box and DONT turn off the game when the pokemon (with pokerus) in in ur party. Put it in a box before shutting down!

    Well, PokeRus, is basically a virus that gets inflicted randomly on your Pokemon. It is very rare and hard to get. What is does though, is excellent! when your Pokemon has PokeRus, your Pokemon would double EV's gained! It really helps when EV Training, it quickens the process immensely.
     
    I got this in my very frist time playing pokemon silver and for a long time thought it was just something that happened to evryone in Gold/Silver, like the red Gyrados
