kk, I'll work on chapter 5 then. :]

I have to work on some sequential art panel stuff for my comic class, so I can't do it today. :( I never realized how hard that stuff is. I start break on Friday, though so I should be more open... maybe even chapter 6? :3
 
Uh... I guess I'll work on 4 or something. I was going to do 5 but I didn't know where it started on the script. If you've already started, Kumori, you can go on and do it.

Ehh... I use "alright" all the time, though. And for that tiny piece of SFX (it looks more to me like a comment, like mangas use for humorous remarks)... ahh, I'd have it translated or something, but that's not always possible, so wipe it out, I guess. If you get SFX translations, just add it in later. It does bother me. O.o

@Willer and darkcowboy: Yay... hopefully we'll have lots of people willing to QC now. Chapters 1 and 2 have been QC'ed already... you can look over them anyways to see if we missed anything, though. The links to the typeset scans are a couple posts back (don't feel like digging them up -_-) -- they shouldn't be that hard to find. Chapter 3 has just been posted by Vereux0, and we need a QC on that. ^^

I guess we're going to be releasing the final versions of Chapters 1 and 2 tonight? XD

Uh, it may just be my computer or a technical error that sendspace is having, but the links don't work...
 
I can translate (in fact, I have 25 and 26), when I'm done with volume 22. I don't wanna do a lot of scanning though... I have an HP scanner-thing, and a mac. HP and macs don't go well together... the driver is slow and takes up CPU even when it isn't doing anything, and the scanning program (HP Scan Pro) hates me even more than Photoshop. >_>

That would be awesome! Since you have the volumes already, then maybe you could send me your translations for them after you're done with 22, and I can start editing as soon as I receive them (ie, no need for me to scan in order to translate). I will then be able to put up the final scanlations here. Just update me on this when you're ready!

@ minakichan: Oh Korean translations? I can help with those while I wait for benji to start translating Jap volume 25 and 26 for me ^.^ I'm definately not a native speaker but I'm Korean and I can converse pretty well. =)

@ vampirepeaches: Are you willing to translate volumes 25 and 26 of Jap scans? Benji has offered to do it but he's still working on volume 22...

If vampirepeaches is willing, I can hand the rest of volume 22 to her and work on volume 25 and 26 (since there are scans of volume 22 she could work from) -- although the scans are bad, so if she needs help with something, I could provide any unrecognizable kanji. (But I believe she mentioned she didn't want to do any translating...)

I still have 7 chapters to go on volume 22, so don't expect me to be finished with that anytime soon! =P
 
I'm sorry, but I just don't think I'd be able to help you translate. I'd like to, but I'm in my final year of schooling and need all the time I can get to study :S (and like I said, I'm not confident in my skills to do this; it takes me a very long time :(. It's the amount of time it takes me that is preventing me from doing so). I'm still offering to help QC, clean or anything Photoshop related ... Sorry I can't be of more use :(

@ladygalaxy: Just curious, do you need scan cleaning help, or are you experience with it? If you want to run the whole operation yourself, that's cool, but we have real-life scan editors here =O cuz I know it's a lot of work to do a one-man scanlation team ^^. In the meantime, we actually could use some Korean translation on JUST the SFX for volume 12, so that we can make re-releases with the Korean SFX erased (and so we can reflip the manga back to its original right-to-left orientation). If you're cool with that, I can send you Korean shtuffs and give further explanation =D

@Mina: Sadly, I'm still in high school located Michigan. But we're one of the few high schools in the country that offer the class (that is, it's L'Anse Creuse High School North). I haven't decided between Art Institutes, Baker, or Academy of Design & Tech... but I want to decide soon, I'm still a junior so I still have another year... XD

Ahh... How's cleaning for chapter 6 coming along? I started break today, but still working on some comic work. -w- I'll probably be working on chapter 5 tonight and you can see a release for it... well, tonight~
 
@vampirepeaches: It's okay... my schedule always gets me, too. =D

@pidge: The first pages (if you're browsing in alphabetical order) aren't the first pages of chapter 1 (chapter 260), they're actually the first pages of chapter 3 (chapter 262)! >_< You might want to rename your pages. Your cleaning is great, though! I wish I could level that good... after a page gets leveled by me, it usually turns out looking like either a blob of black with all the textures/details leveled away or a blob of black plus random dust and irregularities that also got leveled in. T_T

@minakichan: I tried typesetting the first page of chapter 262 with pidge's cleaned scans... I don't know if you guys like my typesetting. By the way, for the antialiasing on your text, do you use sharp, crisp, strong, or smooth? (I used sharp for this one.)

Oh, and totally unrelated, but how's the website coming along? Is there anything I could help with?

Chapter 3 of Volume 12 has been quality controlled. Just remove the spaces - (www . mediafire . com / ?bfmx1ttjmg1).
This is getting to be quite fun.
@benji: It's so hectic; it's past midnight here and I have yet to start the main body of my homework as I've been doing Textiles for hours :|.
 
@Kumori: It's still not done yet ;_; I've been doing website stuff and crap, sorry. I'm trying to patch together the two page spread as we speak, but I uh, also need to do my real homework. *epic fail* Weekend's coming up, hope I can finish then.

@benji: I use Smooth, I think it fits in with the image better. (gaaah SFX translations! *_* I LOVE YOU MAN). The typesetting looks Ok, I think you could try to center it more so that the text fits better into a sort of ellipse or rectangular shape, centered as much as possible inside the bubble without spillover (and the "Ruby!" inside it's own bubble, for example).

@vampirepeaches: Thanks! I'll have to look into it tomorrow, unfortunately. Still have 40 pages of reading and 2 p-sets......

BUT! Don't count me off as a school-obsessed slacker just yet! There isn't very much around-- just the base. I would like to create a join or contact form (if i can remember how to work those), and I'd like to have real staff bios (SHORT). If you want an avatar (maybe 100x100 at max), shoot me that too.

On the website, you have strikeout on the visited links? I find that odd (although I guess a lot of websites do that).

Also, do we still need a forum (or we could just ask PokeCommunity to give us our own subforum... meh), like we were talking about?

For news, I haven't seen many good news scripts XD, but you could use PHPnews, or write your own. (Anyone know any other good free PHP news scripts?)

Anyhow, I changed my typeset according to your recommendations. (I think we should have a standard font we all use for SFX, like we have Anime Ace for dialogue.) I just used some random font that didn't stand out too much for the SFX. =D
 
@Benji: 2 things:
1. What program are you using to typeset?
2. Do you have to set to center or are manually centering the text?
 
Haha, I have to do animation work now... :( Sucks I'm not allowed to use Flash for it, but only by traditional means. T_T I'll wrap up chapter 5 tonight, though, since I like being lazy on the evening starting break.

Yeah, I still say make a vBulletin for the forum. XD

As for the layout: Omata said he wants a link back to the host page (otherwise just www.illusory-fragments.net ), but he said no rush for working on it~ :3 It's all excellent, although I would say no strikethrough, seems a little awkward, as if it's a broken link.
 
@Vereux0: 1) Photoshop CS3 on a mac... 2) I manually center for irregular shapes, normal center for ellipses.

And vBulletin isn't free. =( You have to pay $85 a year for leased, or $160 for owned (with no updates after a year without renewal). That's what the admins at PokeCommunity have to pay to keep this site up and running (you can see why they need donations), plus server leases/fees/bandiwidth.

Ehh, the guy hasn't finished his own website yet! ><

Oh, and I reserved pokespe.tk, 'cuz I'm evil like that. Mwahahahaha.
 
Now that you mentioned it, I didn't even noticed that he removed the page set there. D: I assumed he had the old version still going.

Ouch, any free message boards that are good?
