Dialga does not resist dragon. It takes 2x from it's dragon typing and that 2x is halved by it's steel typing.

@Pachi- As for the nonsense anime, Roar of Time doesn't recharge there so thats pretty much why D:

Yeah I know that. Moves are... rarely depicted to recharge at all in the anime. But then again, moves always seem to have different power levels there too.

So less confusing if we just stick to the game... Dialga > Palkia.
 
Palkia would win because first palkia has no weakness and Dialga does which is ground and palkia learns a ground type move.

No your statement is wrong because Palkias have no weakness because it's water and dragon which makes it not have weakness. I would know this because I own a Palkia and went up against a dragon type user. Also Dial is weak to ground because he's part steel.

i think that 'palkias' are good too but they are weak against dragon
 
It depends what sort of fight you are talking about. If it was a fight in the actual game, Dialga would win for sure, because of type advantages and all that jazz.

However, if it was a fight that wasn't purely based on moves and damage calculators and we are just talking imaging a fight in our heads - Palkia would win. Seeing both of the legendary dragons have been in existance since the beginning of time, Dialga wouldn't be able to go back to Palkia's birth because they have both never been born. Palkia, however, can teleport by manipulating space and not only dodge Dialga's attacks but hide and attack from unknown places.

So I guess it depends whether you're talking game-wise or other-wise.

Well Palkia has better speed and Sp.def so Palkia using its high speed could kill Dialga.

So, guess everyone in the world should burn their copies of pearl and immediately purchase two to three copies of diamond - To make sure we have enough extra Dialgas to go around for everyone.. ;(
 
DUH DIALGA!

Thats easy. Dialga is part steel, so he has better resistance. Palkia's water type does nothing to stop the Diamond King, and Dialga is an overall much better Pokemon.

I rest my case. Dialga.
 
Palkia has been proved to be the best legendary in the game, so Palkia would win.

Also, why is everyone so obsesed with Dialga? I pwned a fully EV trained one with a non lengendary non uber pokemon... I couldn't beat the same leveled and fully EV trained Palkia with the exact same Pokemon.

Face it, just because you got diamond doesn't mean Dialga is the best.
 
Palkia is the best~

Its water traits make ice attack non-super effective..

And its defensive is WAY high >.<
 
Palkia, I own one with Max EVs in it's Sp.Atk and it's pretty useful.
 
If I could choose to have Dialga or Palkia in a 1v1, I'd pick Dialga and it would look like this:

Dialga @ Choice scarf
Modest nature
252 SPAtk / 242 HP / 16 Spd
- Dragon Pulse
- Anything
- Anything
- Anything

I don't think it's possible for Palkia to win if you give Dialga this set, unless it's also holding a Choice Scarf and gets critical hits; or unless it gets critical hits while holding Focus Sash :\ Someone please look at this and correct me if I'm wrong. I thought it through loads =D
