    I personally don't like the design.

    Here is the article...what do you think about this? I think they only got on the bandwagon because of the success of the DS/PSP...duh!
    In a very timely article (considering the recent news concerning Nintendo) BusinessWeek online brings us some insider information on a possible Microsoft branded portable digital media device. Sources inside the company suggest that Microsoft has put together a team that's considering the business end of an initiative to unseat Apple's iPod. Based on previous commentary by Xbox boss Peter Moore, the device would play games alongside music and videos, in an attempt to differentiate it from the multitude of "iPod beaters" (and failers).

    If Microsoft goes ahead with such a device, it'll have to ask itself whether or not it wants to include it as part of the Xbox family. As BusinessWeek puts it, "If the new device comes with the Xbox brand, most consumers will view it as a game player, like Sony's PlayStation Portable. That might limit its appeal, since the portable gaming market is much smaller than the one for digital media." In the past Sony have confused us over the intended purpose of the PSP, so it's likely an Xbox-to-go would suffer similarly. Trying to simultaneously master the portable music and video player market alongside the portable gaming market is not an easy task.

    If Microsoft decides to go ahead with a portable games machine (we mused about this possibility a couple of months ago) the next few years will be very interesting indeed for portable gaming.

    I doubt they have to worry if they're getting owned, because, I doubt money is a problem... atleast for a loss anyways, XD

    Hmm, a PMP (Portable Media Player) would be nice if it was done right; but a gaming system... NO! it wouldn't work out, lol.

    That's exactly what I mean. They have tons of money, so they keep using it to launch more and more consoles, but regardless of the fact that both the Xbox and the 360 weren't much compared to the others, they still continue to try. It's annoying.
     
    Im not too fond of the design because it looks exactly like the 360s controller. It probably won't make that big of impact if and when one comes out. They really wouldn't have anything to offer besides what is already on the XBox.

    Really, Mico$oft has to stop. >> 360 is following the path of Dreamcast, we don't need another expensive bulky useless handheld computer wanna be game handheld, that does everything BUT play good games.

    I think it's just another way for Microsoft to lose money. Come on, right now the DS owns the handheld market. And the PSP and GBA are doing well themselves. But Microsoft is stupid to get into the handheld mix. Nintendo owns the handheld market and it's as simple as that. Sony found that out, and if Microsoft wants to find that out then I say let them. It's their money they're throwing away.

    And I thought M$ was only interested in pushing their "integrated" web browser down our collective throats. Heck, just about everything, especially all anti-virus software requires IE.
     
    A portable Xbox? Never will happen. It will be crushed by the Game Boy and the PSP.

    I am an Xbox fan, but I think they should stick with the computers and their system and not dabble in the handheld wars.
     
    Okay...If XBox and Xbox 360 sucks major @ss, what makes you think a portable @ss sucker is gonna do any better? Also, they should never compare it to the PSP. Unless they make it as good as the PSP (which they never will), they need to stop. Always talking about other systems' faults, to make themselves look better.
     
    MS should concentrate getting more 360s shipped and making more games for it before considering releasing another gaming product. :laugh: I mean, even Gamecube has been beating the 360 in sales since it's release, and Gamecube is almost in dead waters, it's quite sad really. Also, many 360 games that were suppose to come out in spring have been delayed so far, the most recent being Splinter Cell, so it's going to have a big drought from now until the fall. It's almost as if it really is becoming the Dreamcast 2, except it is fortunate since Microsoft can handle the losses that come with it.

    You are absolutely right. Since the 360 right now is doing poorly, I don't think Microsoft will stand a chance on making video game consoles any more. They should stick to making computer programs for PCs.
     
    I've lost what little faith I had in Microsoft becoming a "cool" video gaming company.
     
    the thing I think is funny about the handheld market is is that Sony beleive that they're gunna out sell the DS this year, which if they do the same as last year, is just very wishfull thinking. and Microsoft, with there Xbox thats losing them money by the millions, beleives that they can regain ground with a handheld? Now that is funny!

    You're 100% right, IMO the only good X-box game is Halo 2.
