I would like to hear the opinion of those that have already beaten the game.
Before you read my review of the game let me state that I really enjoyed this game and I think it is worth buying. However, there was a lot that the game could improve on so here we go!
Spoilers ahead
Liked:
1.First and foremost the visuals
-I only had the 3d on during cutscenes and that is the best way to go with all honesty. The buildings had a lot more effort put into their design and so did everything else in the background. I enjoyed how when you sit down on a bench the camera angle would adjust to look at the scenery.
2.The main bad guys moral dilemma was interesting to watch unfold, and him being buddy buddy with the professor was an interesting difference in this game for sure
3.The Badges
-9/10 When I get a pokemon badge I can't help but scratch my head wondering what it's supposed to be. However this games badges were all pretty cool looking and self explanatory.
4.Movement:
-I loved being able to walk diagonally, skating was a smooth way to get around, the flying animation was neat and surfing looked different than expected.
5. Moves:
-A lot of new and interesting moves throughout the game
6.Pokemon
-To be specific i'm talking about the number of pokemon, yes there aren't too many new ones (thank god because the gen 6 designs are sup par at best) but there is a ridiculous number of pokemon from a vast number of generations. When I began the game I focused on catching everything you could in each area.
7.Custimization
-I hope they expand on this more because I enjoyed it way more than I thought that I would. Personally I hope this was their trial with the idea and moving forward you'll have more choices than short really short or medium hair.

Spoiler:
1.The French Theme:
-I didn't buy Pokemon France, I bought pokemon y. No other pokemon game has been so blatantly themed off of one are which is what made it such a universal game. Looking at the design of every building, the cliche french phrases used, the tower that is a direct knock off of the eiffel tower, and so on was irritating to me.
+This is supposed to be a mythical world to get lost in not the best attempt at copying a specific culture making it painfully annoying as if they're poking you repeatedly saying "Get it? Get it? Get it? It's set in france! In case you're too dumb to catch on we'll keep reminding you buddy!"
2.Misleading Concepts:
-Horde battles are extremely disappointing, there are not enough attacks to cause damage to numerous opponents and I hit a point where I'd run away from the horde unless there was a pokemon I wanted. Then I'd have to go through the jolly fun of systematically beating 4 other pokemon while being BARRAGED with status attacks and stat reducers.
-Riding pokémon, I was looking forward to this until I realized it was a gimmick to entice fans into being interested in the game. The pokemon move so slowly you want to beat your head into the wall as you're forced to use them in certain turrain.
3.Mega Evolutions
-While they are cool, watching the cutscene for the evolution to take place every single time you use it gets old very fast. So much so that I only used it if it seemed like it was my only hope of winning.
-If you use it on Charizard and then switch to Lucario in the same battle you can not use it on Lucario. This was disappointing to me as I was looking forward to my team of mega juggernauts striking fear into the hearts of children.
-No information on the boost of said pokemon. I couldnt find in the game where it showed the actual improvement from the Mega Evolution. While it was evident how my Charizard was more powerful i wanted to know exactly how much more powerful he was in his mega form.
4.Too easy
-The exp share is too overpowered and i turned it off after the first gym because at the rate I was going i'd of beaten the game in 10 hours. And 10 hours of gameplay is not my goal trust me.
-Turning off exp share, catching every single pokemon available on each route, hunting down every trainer possible to fight, and I finished the game with a total gameplay time of 35 hours. This is not bragging this is disappointing.
-Due to the number of really good pokemon early on I am able to whip out a Salamence and a Garchomp and crush everything in my path. While i'm excited it made these pokemon available before the game was over (like previous gens have done) I am disappointed the games difficulty didn't reflect that. If you're going to give the user such an ability to make such a solid team make the game more difficult.
-I finished the game with a PERFECT record, no exaggeration and not bragging, I did not black out once and that irritates me. Personally I want to lose to an opponent once or twice and be forced to level grind until I can beat them.
5.Character Design:
-The creators of this game need to learn that a vast majority of their gamers are of an older demographic and start designing the characters accordingly. The main villain of the game is blatantly obvious with his all red attire, red hair, and menacing look. Give me some sort of mystery to what is going to happen in the game.
-No variety in the competition. There seemed to be lacking variety in the NPC's
-Team Flare....Their sayings were dumb "We have flair so we should live and you should die" their design was meh at best. It seemed to have something to do with fire but they had a wide variety of pokemon, no motive that involved fire, the pokemon their after (in both versions) isn't fire related. It made no sense whatsoever.
6.The gyms:
-Maybe it's just me but I expect gyms to be somewhat puzzling to navigate, gyms in the past would force me to go online to find my way around, but all the gyms in this game at best might cause you to back track once.
-The Gym Leaders: None of them had any particularly difficult/impressive pokemon, most of them seemed to only have 3 for that matter.Ramos (the 4th gym leader) has some sort of growth coming out of his chin that may kill him. Clemont (the 5th gym leader) is an annoying child. Olympia (the 7th gym leader) looks like a transexual or cross dresser, it really took me a bit to decide what gender she was.
7.Victory Road:
-Every trainer has 2 or 3 pokemon tops..... Enough said.....but i'll go on, these are supposed to be trainers that earned all 8 badges and i'm supposed to believe the little girl with 1 fairy type made it? Or the guy with 1 Machoke? come on....
-Too easy...Remember when victory road was difficult and might of even taken days to navigate through and get through the tough wild pokemon encounters? Well good bye to those days! If you get lost on this victory road you much of been dropped on your head when you were little, in fact every cave/forrest was extremely short and simple to navigate.
8. Elite 4:
-Remember when having a well balanced team didn't matter when you went up against the Elite 4? Well in this game if you do have a balanced team victory is guaranteed, One of the elite four is fire (use surf 4 times and you're done), next up is water (use thunder 4 times and you're done), Dragon (fairy, ice, or stronger dragon and you're done), and then a steal type trainer (Fire attack, fire attack, combat). And then we have the champion....
Come on, yet another character that is startling the fence on what gender it is with some lame outfit that a fashion model would wear on the run way that we'd all laugh at. Compared to previous champions this was highly underwhelming and disappointing, and her team was filled with pokemon that can be one shotted easily.
9.Your companions/rival
-There are four of them (strike one!) Three of these four are rather useless (Strike 2) The rival being your best buddy (strike 3). I'm a believer that their should only be one rival, two tops, and that it should be a rival in the traditional sense like Gary/Blue.
You have Trevor another character whose gender i'm still not sure about who just runs around to compare pokedex's (which you always outshine him/her at and you two almost never battle). Tierno who wants to dance and that is all (Doesn't have much of a dancing team, has a shirt of vinillish which he doesn't own). Serena, pretty likable and the only one who will really fight you but she doesn't even go through the gym process herself, and she announces when she is going to challenge you so you can get ready.
Your rival is supposed to surprise you after a long route where you need to find a poke center. Also the game is easy enough without these four holding your hands the whole way, telling you where to go next constantly.
10.The Storyline:
-I was interested with the story in Pokemon W/B (not so much in 2) but pokemon XY really took a step back. Here's bad guy, he wants to destroy world with weapon, stop bad guy. No backstory for the bad guy, he doesn't learn his lesson, his team is extremely weak, his logic is highly flawed and his team members are equally unintelligent.
-MAJOR SPOILER The one redeeming quality is that the main villain died and that is from what I can remember at this exact moment, a first as far as pokemon is concerned and I liked that in a way.
My biggest disappointment was that there seemed to be a love interest forming between your character and the two girls, and I thought at one point you might have to choose between the girl who you created a lot of memories with and the girl who battles you and is very self dependent. However, this didn't happen despite all the signs it might.Honestly I don't hold that against the game because it is aimed at a younger age group but I thought it'd be a step in the right direction to appealing to an older audience.
