4th Gen Potential line-up?

Starter Pokemon for HGSS

The second choices are my preferred ones if you are able to evolve them without the National Dex.
 
Meganium
Ursaring
Houndoom
Slowking
Ampharos/Raichu
Delibird/Forretress/Mismagius/Yanmega

I want an a balanced team, and keep them all Johto.
Any suggestions on which ones to pick?
 
Pokemon I would like to use in my party at one time or another in this game:
Corsola
Ampharos (and pre-evos)
Tentacruel
Mantyke/Mantine
Legendaries (For the First time ever! It actually seems cool now. Not to mention Johto has my favorite legendary Pokemon.)
Magmar (If I can catch it in Burned Tower again.)
Sudowoodo
Slowpoke (and evo)
Politoed
Teddiursa
Electrode
Farfetch'd (maybe)
Spearow
Any Johto starter.

I'm trying to use as many as possible this time. I'm going to take my time to enjoy this game. ^_^

Some of these Pokemon may make the final cut.
 
I'll probably be picking Chikorita for my starter, like I did in the original Pokemon Silver back in 2001, both for nostalgia and because Chikorita is so cute! :P

One thing I personally look forward to is getting a really bad-ass Lugia again. Not that I'd use in my "real" team, but still, a fun thing to do.

My team will be as follows. :D

Miltank - My favourite Pokemon of all time and a total dead cert due to it's complete awesomeness. Have you seen it's new art? 0_0 Amazing.

Gyarados - Just a plain old regular one as I'll keep the Red one untouched. :)

Feraligatr - My starter and another powerhouse.

Jynx - One of my old favourites.

Porygon2 - :) :) :)

Dragonite - General superb pokemon.

After much consideration mostly just looking at their new artwork :D I have come up with a new potential party.

Machamp
Crobat
Espeon
Gyarados/Kingra
Rapidash/Magcargo
 
they should make this a sticky

anyway, I thought of something, while you guys think of your team, will you make your team for competitive battling? Like with Smogon? Or just simply for nostalgia?

For me, I already chose my team but their moves and items I determined from Smogon, mainly chosen based on the Elite Fours' types:
Will: Psychic= Umbreon/Scizor,
Koga: Bug/Poison=Noctowl/Typhlosion
Bruno: Fighting= Noctowl
Karen: Dark=Scizor
Lance: Dragon= Feraligator with Ice Punch/use all my Pokemon.

What about you?
