PP (aka Power Points): how much do you care about these when playing in game? For example, here are some questions to consider when answering: How often, if ever, do you run out of PP when battling? Do you use things like PP Up/PP Max to boost certain moves you really like to use? What about Elixirs/Ethers? And so on...

I care a lot. I even boost moves with a PP Max that already have 30 points to it. I like to grind for long periods of time and to do that I need to know my moves won't run out on me. I always try to keep Elixirs and Leppa Berries in full stock.

I aim to max anything with five or ten power points, or simply keep Leppa Berries handy; which is easier to do depends on the game. The reliable classics like Psychic, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam and Flamethrower find a lot of use with me, so are generally the first candidates for PP-boosts. I seldom run out of PP during a battle, or even a series of them; even if I do I'm capable of already having built my team with other moves to compensate.

If and when I come across PP boosters, I'll use them on the reliable, high powered STABS like Cassino mentioned. Leppa Berries are a godsend. Stopping what you're doing every 5 minutes to go heal PP is an annoyance.

Personally, I think the game developers gave moves far too much Power Points than necessary. Hardly anyone worries about PPs at all mid-game; my friend's younger brother (13) didn't even know what they were until I pointed them out to him. :cer_eek:

Leppa berries are pro and most high-powered STAB moves on my party members will usually get max PP, but it'd definitely be interesting to witness a reduction of move count to a certain degree. Just to get players more involved in keeping track of and managing their team.

Depends on the move in question and the situation.
For example, I only use PP boosters on a move that I use a lot.
I pay close attention to the remaining PP when I'm batting the Elite Four, since I usually only have a couple of PP restoring items at any given time.

How often, if ever, do you run out of PP when battling?
Yes, but only when I'm level grinding.

In game I'll use PP Ups on reliable, low PP moves like Earthquake or Ice Beam. Since I spread usage of my team out, I rarely run out of PP when traversing a dungeon. I usually only run out when level grinding. But sometimes, I'll temporarily keep two moves of the same type (i.e., Psybean and Psychic) on a Pokemon just so I have a backup plan if I run out. Usually the weaker move will be replaced come Elite Four time.

Still wish Ethers were sold in Pokemon Marts...

I'm concerned about PP when I grind. If one of my good moves is about to run out of PP, I leave the area, go to the Pokemon Center to heal, then come back.

I also use the PP of my Pokemon's moves to keep track of the EVs I get if I'm EV training.

I agree with you PlatDude, I am always concerned about my PP when level grinding. If my PP is low, I use my Archeops to fly back to the Pokemon Center.

Also, I mainly fight against Audino cos of the EXP they chuck out when defeated.

I generally don't care about PP. I don't use PP Ups, and I'll pick the strongest move in game regardless of PP. Idk, I just never think that deeply into it.

I would say that I do care about the PP of my Pokémons' moves, as I'm always looking for a code for my Action Replay that gives me infinite PP. It always saves me the trouble of going back to the Pokémon Center just to replenish their PP.

Of course, this isn't an issue in the early game, when their PP vastly outlasts their own health bars.

I used to use PP Up and PP Max etc until I started playing B/W (or HG? One of the two, defs) which is when I just started to collect them. I like to think I have a lot of a rare item, and really, I never used those attacks that much already since in the past I was "ALL OUT POWER" and didn't really care about what attacks were best against other Pokemon or not so I just sorta wasted them lool.
