    [PokeCommunity.com] Prettiest Profile Contest!

    The Prettiest Profile Contest
The Prettiest Profile Contest, also known as PPC, is a Get-Together competition in which contestants design and submit their magnificent profiles, doing their best to match the selected theme. There will be both a Supporter/Staff and non-Supporter bracket, and winners and runners-ups of each bracket will receive a specially designed banner for their signatures, and all contestants will receive an emblem for participation. A Prettiest Profile has a great color scheme and a great profile picture. Participants in the Supporter/Staff bracket may also enhance their profiles with a wallpaper. The Prettiest Profile will be determined by you, PCers! So make sure you cast your vote! Good luck participants, and may the Prettiest Profile win!

    Theme: Technology/Music
This year, our theme will be Technology and Music. This idea could be taken in many ways! Shiny pastel on dark, black-on-creme, circuits, and headphones! Don't worry if you can't do one or the other. But if you can, go for both! After all, who wouldn't like to be both high-tech and musical? Be creative, and don't be afraid to express yourself!

    Rules
All General PC Rules apply to this contest and this thread. Make sure you don't do anything offensive.

Make sure that your profile theme matches the theme of this contest. Any entries that do not match the theme cannot be judged and will, unfortunately, be disqualified.

To submit your profile, simply post in this thread and indicate that you wish to do so. Participants can change their profiles in any way before the voting period.

During the voting period, submitted profiles may not be changed.

Please enter during the entry period. Submissions cannot be made once the voting period starts.

For participants, voting is mandatory. Participants who do not vote will be disqualified.

acatfrommars is our votemaster. To vote, send your ballot to acatfrommars via PM.

Please, do not bother acatfrommars about the results. He will be doing his best to count the votes with utmost accuracy.

Voters must nominate at least 2 Supporters/Staff and 2 non-Supporters. An optional third vote is allowed. Should an optional vote be used, both brackets must be given three votes.

In the spirit of the Get-Together, it might not be best to divide the ballot by staff/supporters and members, if at all. The celebration is about bringing everyone together and while the separate ballot is standard with past profile contests, this time could we try to be as inclusive as possible and have everyone in the same place? 8)

It's always been like that because of the differences between the members and the supporters/staff. Supporters and Staff have several perks that they can take advantage of (background, profile picture, etc) that members don't have so it seems unfair to have to judge them together like that because people will lean towards the "prettier/more decorated" profiles. Otherwise I would totally support that idea. ):

Unless something has changed and I'm unaware of it.

So, we'll still be using two brackets to organize this competition.

After all, can't have the supporters and staff all winning, right?

Although I do support the idea of extra privileges for supporters, it would at least do some good to allow everyone to actually be able to make a pretty profile, complete with some images. Regular members regrettably are restricted to mixing colors. It prevents us from selecting a lot of themes that require more than just a mix of shades. It's unfortunate that we have to do it this way.

Oh right. That's something I'd forgotten about and that's a shame. I suppose it'll have to carry on like this then - the thread looks really good by the way! I can imagine the theme being somewhat difficult to incorporate into a profile but the challenge is what makes it fun, yeah? :]

Your layout is look absolutely fantastic, in my opinion! One thing I would recommend is changing color of text drop-shadow; try this: "text-shadow: 0 0 1px rgba(0,0,0,0.5);". Another thing I'd do is changing border of all headings to the following: "border-bottom: 1px solid rgba(255,255,255,0.4);". Also, I'm really liking the fonts that you guys are using; Open Sans and Droid are amazing. Before I go, I should let you know that you should list Pixlr as a resource, too. It would be really helpful to those that don't have Photoshop or GIMP installed but would still like to create some image.

Thanks for the input, I've changed the thread a bit. :)
