    It was an alright episode that led up to one of my favorite episodes in Kanto, the fighting tournament. But I found it kind of dumb the way Mankey evolved.

    How many cereal box-tops did Ash have to send? 500?
     
    Looking back, I think it's kind of funny how Ash was so despreate to get back a hat he stopped wearing for almost half the entire series at this point.
     
    I like the fact that Brock calls origini (rice balls) "doughnuts" in this episode! :D
     
    Oh! This episode is so funny! Ash getting angry about his hat, James making Mankey anggry (or Jessie, can't remember) and being thrown into a rock, running away from makey and ASH BEING PUNCHED IN THE FACE make this episode one of my favourites. And there's a great 4Kids track I love, the crazy running music

    The dub makes sure we know they're eating Jelly filled donuts Nothing beats a jelly filled doughnuts!

    This episode is one of the main reasons I sorta think of Ash as an idiot. It's a hat...get over it...I don't care how many box tops you sent in for it.

    But he sent over 500![/sarcasm] I would be kind of mad too. Then again, I can buy another one, that isn't so... cheap?

    It's a limited edition Pokemon League hat! You can't but it, there's only one. I like the part when they show an advert of the hat XD

    It was James that had the "magic" touch, er, kick; he did it before with his Magikarp. Hee.

    Anyway, yes, we have the origin of the hat! Drama! Frankly, is it worth getting punched in the face? I don't think so.

    Moving on, this was the 25th episode of the series, and, man, what an odd way to go about it. Particularly the capture, as I never could picture Ash with a Primeape. Too aggressive for him, really. Oh, well.

    I, too, love the fact he sent in all those box tops and now he does'nt have the hat anymore!
    This was also back when he just gave Pokemon away...Primape went to that boxer. I agree thou that Primape is too agressive...he ended up with his hands full with Charmeleon and Charizard.
     
    Oh gee, I actually remember when I was kid laughing really hard at this episode, it was great. XD I found the eruptions of frustration and such caused from Primeape, Ash and the like just hilarious. And heh, the hat is srs bsnss. >:|

    It's still funny looking back at it.
     
    This episode!! I love the commercial about teh hat...
    If im not mistaken, charizard used flamethrower and blastoise used hydropump and

    It reminds me, James was meaner back then. I mean, I'm sure he called Koffing stupid once, can you imagine him doing that now? I prefer him now

    Yes. All is other hats are the same! But his old one would go with the DP outfit
